Ron & Rand Paul to Hold Major Tea Party Rally in Austin, Texas

LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul announced today that he and his son, U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, will hold a major tea party rally in Austin, Texas.

The rally, which is free and open to the public, will take place on the South Steps of the Texas State Capitol on Sunday, May 6th beginning at 2:00 p.m. To RSVP for the event, please see below.

Ron Paul’s tea party rally is being sponsored by the Tea Party Express, a national organization whose six simple principles the Drs. Paul support. Also speaking at the rally will be special guests Ted Cruz, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Texas, and Tea Party Express Chair Amy Kremer.

Ron and Rand Paul both are by trade physicians, with the younger Paul an accomplished eye surgeon and his father a retired prolife OB/GYN who personally delivered more than 4,000 babies. In 2010, the 12-term Congressman from Texas’ son Rand was elected to the Senate in an upset, tea party-led victory in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Today both Drs. Paul are the nation’s premier advocates for Washington reform consistent with the vision of our founders, who cautioned against the dangers of a federal government run amok.

“The nation already witnessed history twice when a sitting U.S. Senator – Rand Paul – campaigned for his father – Ron Paul – for the presidency. It occurred ahead of the Ames Straw Poll where Ron Paul was statistically tied for first place, and again during a daylong whistle-stop tour the Pauls held prior to the Iowa Caucus,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.

“One day this rally will occupy a special place in our history books when the Paul family and tea party are credited with restoring American government to its constitutional limits. How soon this recognition comes is up to voters,” added Mr. Benton.

Event details are as follows. Time is Central.

Let's pray

for an unexpected endorsement or event to break the spell that the talking heads are placing on the tea partiers. The "inevitability" has already been accepted, and people are falling in line to defeat the threat of an Obama lame duck presidency.

The Tea Party Express is sponsoring this?

The Tea Party Express that Hannity is always proping up? What did I miss? What's wrong with this picture?

I haven't heard a word that Hannity has spoken in a long time, so maybe he isn't proping them up anymore?

On a side note, I sure hope if they don't "pass the hat" around, they at least ask for support and tell people to donate to the campaign to show that support.

Maybe

we could paste Romney's head on a rubber chicken, and have the sign read:
"Romney's too chicken to debate Ron Paul"

Make the "o" in Romney the Ohmamma symbol.

(or we could add a cartoon of RP dressed as a farmer with a hatchet waiting at the Texas debate podium)
Just kidding.

This is a great idea !!!

Well, it's about dang time.

I guess TP Express was just waiting until all of the "Reagan Conservatives" got pushed out by Romney before finally realizing that they could back Romney and become an irrelevant lapdog, or throw in with the only classical liberal in the race.

Need to watch TPE

TPE is run by "Our Country Deserves Better PAC"

The people who run Our Country Deserves Better are RNC people, make no mistake.

yup yup

The establishment is trying to revive the tea party through Paul.

I am willing to bet that all the videos and photos that come out of this Austin event showing massive crowds and enthusiasm are going to be used to validate a narrative that the tea party is still alive and kicking, when in fact it is NOT.

The kick in the teeth will be when the msm and the gop publish the photos and articles while excluding any mention of Paul or the fact the massive turnout is in fact Paul supporters. The headlines will read, "Tea Party still a force and still backing anyone but Obama"

They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds. -mexican proverb

Not so fast

The media may be able to say whatever they want, but you can bet the pictures will be full of signs that tell the truth, "ONLY RON PAUL!"

-Give me liberty.

So how many Tea Parties are there now?

You have the original that started in 08 as a result of the Tea Party money bomb. Then that got splintered and morphed … I guess into two parties, and now we have a Ron Paul/Rand Paul Tea Party.

none that matter

The tea party is a brand, not a movement.

The original teaparty was 07

not 08 :)

Is the Tea Party (establishment)

trying to co-opt the revolution ? or are they trying to reinvent themselves by feigning respect and adherence to the principles of limited/constitutional governance.

Screw these parasites, I would prefer we let them shrivel and die.

Okay then! It's on!

Looks like we'll be headed back to Texas for this MAJOR event. :-)

I can't wait to see all of my old friends and make some new ones.

Great!

Now, perhaps those RINOs in astroturf TeaPartyExpress will actually get to EXPERIENCE who started it, and how we roll.

Show them Austin R3VOL. Make friends, enlighten, spread the 3VOL!

In case some attending are Tea-o-Cons as they often tend to be, OVERWHELM them with your presence!

If we can pull off 10,000+ in UCLA & UC Berkeley, and 6000+ in Austin just last week, and seeing as how Austin is Ron Paul Central, can easily beat 10,000+ again, if focused.

Bless you all. Go convert some TeaPartiers!

And watch out for the MSM that will prowl

the rally looking for negative sound bites, agent provocateur violent or racist signs to spotlight, to continue their false stereotyping of Tea Party supporters.

No Doubt. Be armed with 1st Amendment & Camcorders Y'all!

Best way to fight it, is to simply have 'counter' videos against MSM smears.

True, we don't have the same size megaphones, but have the Truth on our side, and lately viral YouTube videos have a gazillion times more impact than any MSM video segment can ever dream of.

Go get'em TX R3VOL!!!

LOL Perhaps one of you attending can quote Jimmy Kimmel at the most recent WHCD on a placard/poster, paraphrase: "Politicians, MSM, corp, lobbyists... etc. Everything that's wrong with America is all in this room tonight!" or, more simply: "MSM & Politically Expedient Politicians = Cancer eating away at the American Republic!"

Speaking of WHCD. I'm not sure what I felt other than disgust, not sure if it were shock, or predictable non-astonishment, but I still couldn't believe when Kimmel pointed out to WH mouthpiece Carney that they lied about Hillary Rosen as WH's own visitors' log showed that she is a big time Dem operative, the ENTIRE room apparently felt nothing wrong about ABSOLUTELY LYING about EVERYTHING.

It was like hardy har har, we didn't lie better, so you caught us, ha, ha.

Even as cynical as I've become about the Govt terrorists, it was kinda weird watching them being absolutely nonchalant about living a disgusting, inauthentic existence, and worse, watching them revel in it.

Hope to God PRESIDENT Paul never does this WHCD, EVER again, which is basically nothing more than the last vestige of European "Royal Court" pomp and circumstances where viceroys from various edges of the empire come to the capital to pay tributes and pledge further allegiances, all the while making the court jesters and scribes feel like Cinderellas for one night, while we the 'peons' are expected to laugh with joy at the pathetic jokes made by 'our overlords' about themselves, to themselves.

hardy har har

Well, frankly, I suppose ALL televised 'award' shows are of the same strain, like the Oscars: 'We're important, rich and powerful; you PEONs are not. Of course, you should watch us look pretty and talk about our interests while you grovel at our feet, as billions of viewers moronically tuning in, clearly shows.'

Don't know how much of taxpayers' stolen wealth went to subsidize the WHCD, but this kind of Court exhibition should have NO PLACE in a Constitutional Republic like ours.

And, IF President Paul were to hold something similar, you know the funding for the even will be private, independent, and transparent.

Regardless, these Wall St. hijacked traitorous govt terrorist murderers and their sycophants cannot vacate DC and frankly, all sectors of govt, fast enough.

Debate Sign Bomb

This event might get some media attention. I think we should have a drive to sign bomb this event with signs about a debate between Mitt Romney & Dr Paul.

"Is Mitt afraid of debate?"

"Debate Dr Paul"

"Mitt debate chicken"

ect. ect

Awesome! I was just thinking

Awesome! I was just thinking the other day about how Rand suddenly stopped campaigning for Ron. I wondered if he was afraid to step on some establishment toes but glad he's back in the game.

Actually

This is a rally for Ted Cruz, I think. Rand Paul endorsed him.

I don't

know much about Cruz. Here's what his opponent Dewhearst is saying about him. I don't think I'll be voting for either of them.

If that's what his opponent is saying about him

then it means Cruz does not support CISPA and is pro-free trade.

Jefferson's picture

I have

to admit I haven't researched either one of them very closely. I will look into it more as I get the time. Just because Rand or TPE is endorsing him, doesn't automatically seal the deal for me.

Too bad Medina isn't running..

Sounds like it's a Tea Party

Sounds like it's a Tea Party rally and Ted Cruz is one of the speakers.

Just sent

word to infowars, and the Austin meetup. Let's make this thing huge!

I might make a bunch of signs that say "Just say NO to Romney" and pass them out.
If anyone has ideas for sign slogans let me know.
Romney = Fake Tea
