Ground troops are in Africa without congressional approval

From the Washington Post:

Joseph Kony hunt is proving difficult for U.S. troops
By Craig Whitlock, Published: April 29

"...OBO, Central African Republic — Six months after President Obama ordered 100 elite troops to help capture the messianic warlord Joseph Kony, U.S. military commanders said Sunday that they have been unable to pick up his trail but believe he is hiding in this country’s dense jungle, relying on Stone Age tactics to dodge his pursuers’ high-tech surveillance tools...."

“They’re on the run,” Capt. Kenneth S. Wright, a Navy SEAL who leads the overall U.S. search effort, said last week. “This is not going to be an easy slog. Knock wood, maybe we get lucky. But by experience this is going to be a persistent engagement.”

"Since October, U.S. troops have fanned out to five outposts in four countries, advising thousands of troops from Uganda, the Central African Republic, South Sudan and Congo who are hunting Kony across a territory the size of California. In Obo, the terrain is so remote that it took the U.S. military four months to carve out its jungle camp."

"...A team of about 20 Green Berets from the U.S. Army has set up camp in Obo, a remote town in the southeastern corner of the impoverished Central African Republic. The military would not permit journalists to tour the American camp — which villagers described as being protected by razor wire and cameras — but granted interviews with the local U.S. commander and security forces from Uganda and the Central African Republic who also are based here..."

old

news.

Don't feed the pandas. Ever.

10 years to find bin

10 years to find bin laden...
don't hold your breath thinking this will be over soon.
plus as soon as Uganda starts pumping out the billions of barrels of oil its sitting on, im sure our troops will be distracted suring America's 2/3rds

Your one of those

Your one of those conspiracy theorist who say crazy stuff like "you need congressional approval to go to war". Quit spread your conspiracy crap.... :-)

Blessed are the peacemakers

Congressional Approval?? Hahahah

The Congress doesn't want to be involved with approving wars. That is waaay too much responsibility.

Congress just wants to be responsible for transfering wealth, trampling on the rights of Americans through regulations, and persecuting major league athletes for steroid abuse... you know, the fun stuff.

Let the Commander in Chief the be the decider when it comes to sacrificing American lives in the utmost strategically vital region of central Africa with no stated goal or purpose.

Sure, why not.....

They are not Obama's family members fighting, dying, being ripped of limbs and organs. They are just um....as Kissenger says, stupid pawns.

Hey, he's the King so whatever he wants to do is the rule now!

The world ( including America) is Obama's enemy and the world is his play-pen to destroy whatever he so desires.

Who'd ever thought that a snotty nosed kid from Kenya would make such a killing in the big leagues?

No wonder why the world hated the U.S.A.

Most likely the troops no longer use Abel and Dog targets for rifle and pistol practice...they most likely use the Constitution!

" In Thee O Lord do I put my trust " ~ Psalm 31:1~

I think the military requested this mission to...

...use it as live training practice for special forces. There's only one problem...

...It's AGAINST THE U.S. CONSTITUTION to send troops anywhere without congressional approval.

Or to attack another country like Lybia without approval.

Where is the anti-war left all of a sudden?

Quiet as a church mouse.

Uganda

Uganda is sitting on billions of barrels of oil. I hasn't let people start drilling until recently. Our troops are their to make sure we get our share. Dont be fooled by this Kony crap. The man hasn't been seen in over a decade but all of a sudden NOW we need to find him... not likely

True about Uganda. Lots of oil.

U.S. will trump this story up until we have thousands of troops over there.

Then the oil companies will come in and drill on the land the U.S. claims.

Then military will be used as security force for oil companies.

All justified by a hunt for a bushman we have no interest in.

Always follow the money.

I'd just like to know who successfully lobbied the U.S. government to send troops there.

They should be tried for treason - and hung.

Kony is a stage prop just

Kony is a stage prop just like bin Laden. Capturing bin Laden was the justification for our invasion of Afghanistan and ten years of war that still isn't over. And for all that they never did "capture" bin Laden or find the cave from which he "directed" the events of 9/11.

The jungle of Africa works just like the caves of Afghanistan for purposes of a phony quest that allows another unconstitutional war.

Maybe if more of our boys were home

we could us them to run "terror drills" instead of bringing in Russian troops to "help us out". The UN is doing exactly what they said they were going to do...put a "peace force" in every country to keep the world safe. Like others have said...I can't beleive that more people do not see what is taking place right before their eyes!

Funny

Joseph Kony has been missing for sometime now. Kony 2012 was a huge farce to go into Uganada, see NowOrNever's comment below.

Great video...

The Corbett Report is usually spot on. He did a fantastic condensed video about the illogical storyline of 9/11.

Another impeachable offense by Obama.

Another was bombing Lybia into rubbles (from the sea) without even as much as mentioning permession from congress (meaning WE the people).

One world government. That's

One world government.

That's what Washintgon is trying to be as it now claims jurisdiction over the entire planet.

WTF is the US doing hunting for this Kony fellow?

It's like I've stepped into a nightmare and can't wake up. Obama has become The Godfather.

Funny how...

....we're helping the Ugandan government fight this Kony, because Kony is an evil man who tortures, rapes, and makes child soldiers...and that very same government is currently ruled by a dictator who does the same thing, and actually pioneered the use of child soldiers in Africa.

...also funny how the Kony video (made years ago) just happened to go viral and get a bunch of MSM coverage as we're sending troops into Uganda.

...also funny how it was recently discovered that Uganda has massive oil reserves, which the Chinese have been trying to get access to.

Funny....but I'm sure we're there for humanitarian reasons, right?

Clearly it's about time for Obama to get another Nobel Peace Prize.

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

It's like a bad script...

How is it possible that the average American doesn't see this? It is so blatantly obvious...!

Here we go again folks...

...tramping around a foreign country, in difficult terrain, looking for a natural born guerrilla enemy that is indistinguishable from friend, foe, soldier and civilian. Minding somebody elses business... for the wealth of the War Profiteers....payed for by you.

But....

They are making us safer!
