Three Items

1) Ron Paul has passed John McCain at Intrade - This means betting folks - those who put their money at risk - see Ron Paul as a better bet to win than McCain!

2) On the recent Values Voter debate: Only one candidate had the moxie to confront the politicization of Christianity, and that candidate was Ron Paul...

3) Ron Pauloween!

Bush doesn't make the grade

Bush does not qualify under that criteria. It is my belief that he is very untruthful and has hoodwinked the Christian community.

This is interesting commentary on the VVD

I watched the VVD and must point out one of the reasons I feel Huckabee got the straw poll victory and not Ron Paul.

Ron Paul used Christian doctrine out of context and applied it to politics. "Love your enemy, turn the other cheek, forgiveness, Prince of Peace, etc." all were used inappropriately by Dr. Paul. I think this conveyed to the audience a sense of confusion on Dr. Paul's part.

When Christ said to "turn the other cheek, love your enemies, forgive and you will be forgiven" He was referring to personal relationships. The "turn the other cheek" is specifically about issues of personal honor. Christ is called the "Prince of Peace" in Scripture because He has made peace with God for us sinners (Colossians 1:20).

Christ never addressed secular politics. That wasn't His mission. The Bible does state in Romans 13 that "the state does not bear the sword in vain." Meaning, the state has the power to punish evildoers (criminals). But, this is more a text on local government, not conflicts that arise between nations.

Jesus did specifically say that Christians should not use or advocate military force for the sake of spreading Christianity (John 18:36). That is not how converts are won.

Regarding homosexuality and the comments made in this article... the reason the homosexual agenda is important to Christians isn't simply because some people want to be gay. The real issue is that they, the radical homosexual movement, wants to impose their agenda on the American people.

The introduction of "hate crimes laws" is being used to silence Pastors from teaching from certain parts of Scripture from the pulpit just like they have done in Canada and other Western European countries.

Right now we have schools who have their 1st graders read books like "Heather has Two Mommies."

If a person wants to be gay then they will be gay. But, what we object to is it being shoved down the throats of our children with our own tax dollars. My kids all go to private school because that was the only way I could ensure what my children were learning. The government should not be in the business of subverting parent's moral teaching to their children by "alternative lifestyle" indoctrination.

That is what we are opposing, not the right of people to engage in homosexuality if that is what they choose. That is between them and God. But, it shouldn't be normalized in the culture because it is not normal, it is abnormal, as the science and plumbing clearly show. That doesn't mean we hate them or treat them as 2nd class citizens. They are people just like everyone else and this is where I think some Christians stray on the issue. But, it should not be promoted in the government or public school system.

When Christ said to "turn

What is personal relationships if not secular politics?

But, [homosexuality] should not be promoted in the government or public school system.

I like staring at naked women as much as the next heterosexual guy, but what does the Bible say about homosexuality? Also, what should the government and public schools promote?

Response

Personal relationships are those relationships between persons.

Secular politics are relationships between nations/governments.

The Bible teaches that homosexuality is immoral and a sin.

The public school system shouldn't be run by the NEA, first of all, but aside from that it should be supporting reading, writing, mathematics, and other academic subjects.

Personal relationships are

Personal relationships are those relationships between persons.
Secular politics are relationships between nations/governments.

Is that an academic definition?

The Bible teaches that homosexuality is immoral and a sin.

I haven't opened a Bible in a long time, but where in it does it talk about homosexuality?

Definitions and more

I think the name itself, personal relationships, makes it evident that it is "relationships between persons." But, here is an official source for you. It states "a relation between people." Same thing.

______________
Scripture passages taken from the Contemporary English Version (CEV) for clarity:

Old Testament:
Lev 18:22 It is disgusting for a man to have sex with another man.

New Testament:
Romans 1:26 God let them follow their own evil desires. Women no longer wanted to have sex in a natural way, and they did things with each other that were not natural.
Romans 1:27 Men behaved in the same way. They stopped wanting to have sex with women and had strong desires for sex with other men. They did shameful things with each other, and what has happened to them is punishment for their foolish deeds.

There are more, but those cover it sufficiently. And for the record, I am not gay-bashing. Please don't misunderstand me. I am simply showing what the Bible states. The Bible puts homosexuals in the same category as liars, drunkards, etc.

The reason that homosexuality gets the attention it does from the Christian community is due to the radical wing of their movement attempting to push their lifestyle on mainstream America through strong arm tactics.

Cheers!

Don't allow God to vomit out America

Why do people attack Christian leaders saying that they are politicizing Christianity when in fact they are simply following the commands of God by speaking out against evil. Commands which God Himself gives for governments and rulers to follow.

1) "Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. Exodus 18:21 (NKJV)

2) Who are those who fear God? “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil” Proverbs 8:13 (NKJV)

3) Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34 (NKJV)

The reason why Christians speak out against the sins of homosexuality and abortion is because God destroyed nations in the past for these sins. When God brought the people of Israel into the land, he didn’t do so because Israel was so good. He did so because the people inhabiting the land were so wicked, so he puked them out of it.

This passage is found in the Bible in Leviticus 18:21-28 : 'And you shall not let any of your descendants pass through the fire to Molech (Child Sacrifice – killing innocent babies, abortion) . . . . 'You shall not lie with a male as with a woman (homosexuality). It is an abomination. . . .'For the land is defiled; therefore I visit the punishment of its iniquity upon it, and the land vomits out its inhabitants. (for all these abominations the men of the land have done, who were before you, and thus the land is defiled), 'lest the land vomit you out also when you defile it, as it vomited out the nations that were before you.

As to Pauloween, I prefer to Christianize the day. I normally hand out Gospel tracks to the dressed up little devils that come to my door. http://www.chick.com has some good Halloween tracts. I think people need more of Jesus and less of pauloticians.

Why do people attack

Why do people attack Christian leaders saying that they are politicizing Christianity when in fact they are simply following the commands of God by speaking out against evil. Commands which God Himself gives for governments and rulers to follow.

For one, the First Admendment. The same right that allows "Christian leaders" to speak out also allows for them to be criticized. For two, the USA is not a theocracy. Feel free to follow your God's rules, though.

1) "Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. Exodus 18:21 (NKJV)

Well, that got us Dubya for eight years...

The reason why Christians speak out against the sins of homosexuality and abortion is because God destroyed nations in the past for these sins. When God brought the people of Israel into the land, he didnt do so because Israel was so good. He did so because the people inhabiting the land were so wicked, so he puked them out of it.

Yeah, I think that's a popular excuse used by royalty...

Pauloween

This Pauloween idea is more of the BORING crap that is not going to work for the rEVOLutionaries and this is what is turning the grassroots that started this campaign off. Many neighborhoods no longer have Halloween. Organizations and churches have taken to task providing FREE entertainment and treats for kids in a safe environment and then there's Halloween Parties for adults, offices, college student government associations, where Pauloween doesn't apply.

So the rEVOLution has come up with an idea, and maybe what needs to start happening is that the rEVOLution needs to challenge the campaign? After all, the campaign has not taken into account the millions of dollars that the rEVOLution spent on making this campaign grow in the first place. I'd be real curious to know what Ebay collected, or to have Meetup Groups ask their members what they spent out of pocket that the campaign does not account for to the FEC.

What we are doing and other Meetups are TIN FOIL HAT parties. Yep.

The offical campaign, is scared crapless by this kind of thing because they can't laugh at themselves, but "truthers" and grassroots, who have NO FEAR, knowing that TRUTH IS FUNNY, has the ability to laugh at its self and HAVE FUN.

The idea of the TIN FOIL HAT PARTY is to find a sports bar or club that has a large TV screen and to book it on a tuesday or wednesday night the week before Halloween, when clubs have a hard time booking. If there are musicians, they are being aked to perform for free and the Meetup will advertise for them, however, they are allowed to put out a tip jar, as we understand gas money and free food is the least we can do to tell the band THANKS! (if they want to donate that, we'll give them credit, if not, hey, starving musicians need funds too, eh?)

Google has some great pictures of Tin Foil hats for advertizement. Take a look. Some of the hats are great and inspirering.

Everyone is encouraged to wear a TIN FOIL HAT. Depending on your neighborhood/club, the cover charge for those wearing a TIN FOIL HAT , between $5.00- $10.00 - $20.00 bucks for a cover charge. Those who come to the party without a TIN FOIL HAT are charged double (the picture opportunitiies are worth it).

There will be a contest for tallest, prettiest, ugliest, most original TIN FOIL HAT, and these winners receive cash...we're loooking at $25.00 per winner, and we hope they donate that money. We ask the club to donate 10% of it's drink and food sales. If they do not provide food, we seek donations of food and will sell it at the club, nachos, hot dogs, cookies...

So far, everyone has thought this is a great idea and allot of FUN and we're already designing our TIN FOIL HATS. As far as we're concerned, if you have a problem with a TIN FOIL HAT, a TIN FOIL HAT isn't going to help you, you need real help. Laughter is the best medicine and we all need to laugh and have some good FUN!

I hope you are inspired as we are by the TIN FOIL HAT party, and know, MSM will LOVE this and you might get your pictures in the paper and allot of interest from those who have to see it to believe it. Oh gosh we just scared the campaign crapless agin LOL Booo!!! Take heart, we are not advertizing Ron Paul, but will be wearing our Ron Paul gear and have plentty of Slim Jims, buttons, liberty cards to pass out, and by the way...we tagged the corporate campaign signs in red spray paint, FOR PRESIDENT...those signs will be humg on the walls with our rEVOLution banners, while we play conspiracy videos.

GOOD LUCK on your Pauloween, from the TIN FOIL HAT Partiers.

Have a good posting day!

No offense but...

Please do not go public with this and alert the media. Those parties you throw are for your own enjoyment, which is great, but they contribute nothing to the campaign and may actually do it harm.

So please, thank you for the suggestion but do not alert the presses. Ron Paul does not need media attention about how his supporters are going to Tin Foil Hat parties and watching conspiracy videos. That is not at all sending the right message to the public and is not at all helping to change public opinion that Paul is a legitimate and intelligent candidate.

The Pauloween idea, while you may not like it, is an attempt to continue to spread the message about Ron Paul and contribute to the campaign. It is important to have fun, as you said, but we have to remember that our overall objective is get Paul elected.

Too late

We're got 4 TV spots, 4 radio spots, and 5 news paper advertisements all wanting to do it FOR FREE. Everyone is excited and happy as hell about it!

I still think the rEVOLution should challenge this BORING assinine GOP campaign because you guys are NOT fun, not cool and, I would NOT be voting for Dr. KNOW if it was for this Pauloweeny BS and the GOP coersion. But you can't controll me or the rEVOLution.

Dr Know just sent me a letter telling me that a 13 year old girl told him he was the hope for America and Dr. Know told her, 'No it's the rEVOLution that is the HOPE for America! Notice he did NOT say the GOP? RIGHT ON Dr. KNOW, it is going to be we the independents who will get those who don't vote, to vote for Dr. Paul, while we are having FUN and the GOP lame campaign continues to beg for money and come up with NO FUN boring angles to censor RP supporters that aren't GOP and NEVER NEVER will be BY CHOICE.

I hope you turn green for pauloween.

RUN RON RUN (away from the GOP). RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT (Tag your lame corprate sign today)

Bear with me on this one

I'm having a hard time understanding your brand of English, but bear with me as I try to respond and sift through your response.

First of all, I am not a member of the GOP nor does the Pauloween idea even make mention of the idea. In case you haven't noticed, this is a Ron Paul site and I believe the members of this site, such as myself, all want Ron Paul to be President. I'm assuming you do as well, so we're really on the same side. That being the case, I have no idea why in your post you got on such a GOP kick.

Secondly, you have to remember that not everyone is like you. Other discussions have taken place over the fact that while the rEVOLution type stuff doesn't bother the majority of present Ron Paul supporters it does seem to periodically have an off-putting effect on other potential moderate and conservative voters - voters Ron Paul is going to need.

Thirdly, most of what I have seen are ideas about spreading the word of Ron Paul and that is the basis behind the Pauloween idea. It is not to spread the GOP nor beg for money. It is to attract new people to Ron Paul and continue to grow his campaign.

Finally, I have absolutely no idea where you got that this idea censored Ron Paul supporters. As I said before, this is about spreading the word so that is completely opposite of what you seem to be reading into it. I simply asked you not to advertise your idea as a Ron Paul event because of the potential it has to put off potential moderate voters, but I thought it was a great way to gather money within an all ready established circle. Speaking of voting, I hope you live in a state that is holding open primaries otherwise you're going to have to join the GOP to vote for Paul.

It is my belief that if you refuse to switch your affiliation to Republican in order to vote for RP in a closed primary then you're no real supporter of RP. There are those that want to get him elected and there are those who have conceded defeat and are all about the rEVOLution. I do hope you're of the former variety.

This was long, but thank you for bearing with me.

Pointless bickering

I don't understand what anyone has to gain from denigrating the ideas of other Ron Paul supporters. We all share a common goal, and we should be applauding original ideas, and implementing the ones we find appealing. Each of us can make that decision for ourselves. If Ron Pauloween sounds good to you, then do it! Wear a tinfoil hat if you like! We don't have time to gripe and moan about who's more clever, we just have to get to work and try anything we can to win our country back. We already know that we are individualists, and we don't agree on everything. That's OK. Really. In fact, it's the core of what this is about.

The GOP is a tool of the present electoral process, like it or not. I became a Republican on March 12th of this year when Ron Paul announced. That will last exactly as long as Dr. Paul's campaign as a Republican, unless of course we succeed in changing the very nature of the party, which is not impossible at all with enough people on board. If Ron were running on any other ticket, I would do the same.

But not in CA Sam musician

There are 25 states that have Decline to State party registration and today the GOP has until the 23 of Sept to BLOCK Decline to State party voters from it's ballot. Since 2004, Decline to State Party is the biggest group of registered voters, so WHY would the GOP block them? To hand the election to Hillary? That is exactly what they would effecvtively be doing by BLOCKING Decline to State Party voters from their ballot.

The Ron Paul CAMPAIGN, made a HUGE mistake here in CA, by telling many of the HARD CORE EDUCATED Decline to State Party voters that the GOP BLOCKED the ballot. That was a LIE. As of TODAY, the GOP has NOT blocked their ballot.

Californians KNOW the majority of registered voters in CA are NOT going to register GOP. Ron Paul supporters KNOW the KEY to Ron Paul winning CA is to have Democrats register Decline to State Party. Decline to State Party is FREEDOM. Like Ron Paul, most voters are CLUELESS they CAN register like this.

Half the nation has this option.

I myself am not only Decline to State party, I am a delegate for Unity08. I appreciate what you've said about "different strokes for different folks". You sure not going to find me doing pauloween or reading a Bible, but I am supporting like Ron Paul, like thoser who are,

08paulforpres...I agree

As a Mother of four I would not look at any unlabeled DVD, especially on Halloween. On the flip side though...it is a great idea...maybe get brown paper lunch bags and marker them as "Halloween Goodies for Parents" and put the labeled DVD and info in them. Even some candy too...Parent's like candy...lol.
I love this idea and will def. be doing it. I will even take some with me to give to the folks who hand out candy to my kiddies and call them "Thank you bags".

And ya know...a fun and tasteful house decorating for Halloween might not be bad either....I will have to think about ways to incorperate RP into it....pumpkin carvings involving RP come to mind....

Ten Commandments...

"I get to my God through Christ and Christ to me is a man of peace," stated Paul. "Christ is for love and forgiveness and turning the other check and for peace and to justify what we do in the name of Christianity is very dangerous and not part of what Christianity is all about."

I'm not a Christian or anything, but doesn't one of the ten commandments talk directly about this... something about taking thy Lord's name in vain...

My 2 cents.

.
The first link, about McCain, is true but sad. This is a highly decorated veteran who not only lost his way, but seems unaware of how terribly out-of-step he is.

The second link, about the Christian forum, was of interest. I especially liked the typo, "...turn the other check." With such disparity among the various Christian sects there is just no pleasing them all.

The third, Pauloween, doesn't work for me. Hallowe'en is for kids and candy, not Ron Paul. Leave the kids and their bags alone.

Awww Zen!

Do you know what I plan to do?

I'll be sportin' floodlights on 4x8s and as I give out candy I will be rockin' on the Yamaha in my foyer.

(That always get the pizza delivery boy! heheheh)

Aw Jane !

.
Hey, no problemo with the signs. Or the Yamaha. Sorry I can't be there with my Roland synth to play along.

Beer, right?

Whoops - stuck with an extra comment screen

.
(Sorry, I seem to have got an extra one by mistake).

I've been having a rare old time on various news sites posting criticisms of various candidates: Giuliani, Clinton, etc., and it's been fun. Not all sites allow comments, but many do. The best of these are MSNBC, The Washington Post, the Atlantic, Atlanta Journal Constitution, and Slate.

Other news organizations, such as AP, NY Times, Reuters do not allow comments.

But I often get responses to the things I post and that is good. Usually there are other Ron Paul supporters who will chime in.

One thing I have been doing - which I recommend - is to familiarize myself about the other candidates, what they're up to, and their shady pasts. One of the better site for general information, and some good dirt, is www.rense.com/ Jeff has a search box, so just enter Giuliani or Thompson, or even Ron Paul, and you will find some great stuff. They like Ron at Rense, by the way.

Fred

Zen, Dick Morris just wrote a humdinger on Fred Thompson. Did ya see it? I'll email it to you if not. I think it's on FOX's website.

Yep, saw it.

.
Morris is pretty sharp, but he has an agenda also. Still, I like the guy. Snappy dresser too - looks great in Anne Klein.

As for that Ron Pauloween, I

As for that Ron Pauloween, I would recommend NOT doing what they did to the CD. Imagine you're a parent and your child brings home a CD that says "Parents: This DVD is Top Secret" would you put it in the DVD player? I know that when I was young my parents were very careful about the things I received when trick or treating and I can almost guarantee that a majority of parents will see this as something bad to be avoided.

Instead, I would simply be upfront about what is on this DVD. Perhaps with the candy and DVD include a small pamphlet briefly telling what the DVD is about and introducing them to Ron Paul and expressing the importance of this campaign or something. I can't think of a proper alternative, but if we want them to watch this DVD we need to make it clear that its nothing bad.

Otherwise, great idea.
