Is College Worth it?

Real Estate Radio Interview

Does a college education help one get a job?

Is government subsidization of student loans merely a transfer payment to the educational industry.

Most of the economics that one learns in college is Keynesian, not Austrian.

Are economic professors are the direct beneficiaries of the government loaning money to students so they can pay to go to college to take their classes?

Only worthwhile if you the

Only worthwhile if the degree you are seeking is absolutely necessary for employment. Even after receiving a degree it is all who you know not what you know...

It's like this:

Advanced health care, engineering, hard sciences, law. <-- These equal yes.

That is simple on the surface. Law can be iffy. If you want something "more humanities", that is one hell of a crap shoot. At that point if you are a writer, an artist, or whatever you are and you feel passion about any combination of these fields, it's probably (only to over-simplify the answer!) No.

edit: a Philosophy bachelors can do many things depending on how astute you are. And that may seem strange to some people.

YES if you are going to school because you are

genuinely interested in the subject it may be worth it-if its just a place to party and hope you get a job its not

By itself, no. If I knew then

By itself, no.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone to a trade school. College by itself will not get you a job, you need experience paired with it for it to be truely useful.
I will say that it is helpful though.

Interestly, anything higher than a bachelors degree is likely to help you NOT get a job with the government as a large percentage of people who work for the government have nothing higher than that and often dont have anything to begin with. The people that go about hiring dont want to hire someone who could possibly replace them. You can probably call this as one of the major reasons our government sucks, its dumb people hiring even dumber people to run everything.

interesting take-an unintended consequence

of higher education-the dumbing down of the work place!

I'm self employed and it has absolutely nothing to do with my degree. I've said it before and I'll say it again: college is for people who work for other people.

Bravo!

Higher Education is for academics and self realization/improvement-not for learning job skills!
