Krugman Loses Debate with Ron Paul, then Dismisses the Debate Forum and Ron Paul

Ron Paul seemed to have got the better of Krugman in their recent televised debate.

Krugman's response?:

Face to face debates are useless! He belittled Ron Paul's arguments as "Gah Gah Goo Goo"

Kyle Munk:
"NY Times, please fire this guy, he is useless."

circustrainer los angeles:
"So basically Krugman got his nobel prize from a central bank. Thats all I need to know."

Dan Chicago:
"Krugman is just a salesman for fractional reserve banking. This guy is a pawn just like Bernanke and Greenspan. How many more lives need to be destroyed listening to this clown? Debates are useless= "I have a degree from Princeton; I don't need to explain myself." What a fraud this guy is. Notice he cowered out of the second half of the interview because Dr. Paul threw one too many haymakers that Krugman is still dizzy from."

Geerton Tampa, FL:
"Hmmm...sounds like somebody took that debate personally. Could it be because they are wrong?"

Ben Knapic:
"Losses debate handily; writes an article saying debates don't matter. Classy move Krugman, classy move."

David Rairigh The Shire:
"The reason that people believe that Dr. Paul won is because the majority of Krugman's ilk never said a word of warning about the housing market collapse while Ron Paul was warning everyone who would listen as far back as 2002."

RS NY:
"Mr. Krugman,
“If Ron Paul got on TV and said “Gah gah goo goo debasement! theft!” —which is a rough summary of what he actually did say — his supporters would say that he won the debate hands down; I don’t think my supporters are quite the same, but opinions may differ. ” ???
Isn't that beneath you to sink to such a immature level? For a man of your credentials, you should be able to carefully dis-construct Dr. Paul's position. Instead, you resort to school-yard mocking and saying it is suitable as a "rough summary" of Ron Paul position."

Vijay Boyapati Seattle:
"Dr Krugman, as ever, you are incredibly uncharitable in your interpretations of your intellectual adversaries. One could easily have made a similar statement about your performance in the debate: "gah gah goo goo spend more money!". Yet doing so would only really debase the tenor of the debate, which you seem wont to do. It's really rather sad that you use your pulpit at the New York Times to smear people in this fashion. Shame."

Inflation at 2% doesn't mean its all "ok"

If an economist has one leg in boiling water and another leg in a block of ice, "on average" he is fine. But is he really?

First of all the average of 2% doesn't let the money-printers off the hook, because we should be questioning what is in the basket that makes the 2%. If flat screen tvs and smartphone prices drop 10% but food and healthcare goes up 12% a YEAR, is that a good deal?

So please, dear economists, stop hiding behind a fictional 2% that no one can really buy or need.

Paid Whore vs. the "prophet"

P. Krugman knows the evils of which he preaches.

He's just a paid whore, and has sold himself for 30 pieces of silver.

His reward awaits him.

And a great reward awaits Ron Paul as well, as one of the greatest men who have ever lived in the world. Truly a great man, a servant of God, a "prophet", a humble man who is a true gentleman and voice of truth and reason. May God bless him and prolong his days.

"It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a rEVOLution before tomorrow morning." - Henry Ford

I bet the whore is laughing

I bet the whore is laughing about gold on TV but in reality he has some kilos of gold bars stashed somewhere, and I bet he never lost playing the Stock Market because of his connections and, of course, if you look at his tax returns I'm sure he "legally" paid the least amount possible. So for him "f*** the rest" is not a bad thing, he wants this to go forever so his family would always live great.

Nice!

Glad whoever posted this video cut out Krugman's last word, I don't think I could stand it :/

Debates are nothing more than

Debates are nothing more than pissing contests, the human equivalent of monkeys throwing feces at each other. Reality is not determined by who gets pwned.

I'd say your

down votes tell a different story. Perception is reality. And if you look stupid.. people will think you're stupid. And I'm not saying you're stupid. But rather you just are unlucky with cognitive thinking.

Downvotes tell nothing.

Downvotes tell nothing. Again, reality is not subject to a democratic vote. If it was, the sun would still be going around the earth.

Ron Paul, like a boss

I'm sure Noble Prize winner Paul Krugman can look good debating some undocumented Mexican working for McDonalds...but his hallucinations about printing money forever or saying devaluating the dollar 30% is a good thing, please, don't try this stunts with Dr. Paul cause you will get hurt.

I loved when Ron paul said "well, why don't all Americans stay at home and just print money" or "Krugman want us go back 1000 years"...I think this was the first time in his life when Krugman was humiliated, with class.

I liked when he said

Inflation is theft. Well however he put it sounded awesome.

I wish at least one newspaper

Would print the following headline:

"Nobel Peace Prize winner in economics to opponent: Gah Gah Goo Goo"

hahaha

I just spit coffee all over my computer.

Sounnds like

Mr. Krugman's is in need of a changing because his diaper is full of ca ca poo poo! Just another Marxist, I mean Keynesian refusing to face the real world. Onward to oblivion!

Well....

Krugman did, in fact, get across many of his base arguments. I think he may have been surprised that Dr. P was so quick to refute his talking points with facts of his own. I actually find some parts of Keynesian may have some legitimate talking points. I didn't hear any of those from Mr. Krugman. I was kind of hoping Mr. K might give some interesting analysis I could consider. Didn't happen.

He referred to a few Keynesian guys in a recent debt spending article. Those 4 economists replied saying he over simplified, and didn't even take a simple model into consideration....(they were offended he used their names to support his claims.) Sounds like Krugman lets his political brain rule his economic one.... That's not a true economist. It's a political activist. Biased minds look for "facts" to support the bias, not truths that support reality. Too bad. I was looking forward to this one. Dr. P wins again!

Ohh yeah. Dr.P is in fact supporting what he believes to be truth on this matter... Not a political activist point of view. That clearly explains why both sides of the establishment are quick to attack him on it. His views benefit neither party, just us little guys.

So sad to see so many people defending theft

What a cesspool that blog is. You would think 'liberals' would be against debasing the currency of the masses. Actually, they probably are, they just don't realize Krugman is deceiving them and advocating mass theft of the people.

They defend it because if is a form of

Redistribution of wealth for the common good and it involves central planning

Please subscribe to smaulgld.com

The redistribution of wealth isn't

being spread out and it is itself more centralized. They are in fact being robbed now but they're too stupid to see it.

When prices go up it'll be "Whaaaaaaaa, what happened?!?!?!" and of course they'll call for more redistribution of wealth. And it'll be a vicious cycle of never ending stupidity.

My reponse comment to his NY Times post

Mr. Krugman,

“If Ron Paul got on TV and said “Gah gah goo goo debasement! theft!” —which is a rough summary of what he actually did say — his supporters would say that he won the debate hands down; I don’t think my supporters are quite the same, but opinions may differ. ” ???

I think the Good Doctor rattled you, and this response proves it. Very unbecoming of a man from Princeton and a Pulitzer prize winner, don't you think?

I feel the main difference between you and Dr. Paul is that while you think quantitative easing, Keynesian economics, and inflation is good for government spending and corporations who benefit from it, Ron Paul stands up for the ordinary citizen who is the loser in the exchange, especially those with fixed incomes.

Inflation may not affect you with your income, but if you shopped for groceries over a period of several months like the rest of us working stiffs, you would see how the money games played by the Federal Reserve are hurting the average American citizen spending power..

Good, other than the use of the invented

word, "dis-construct" and a number of other problems which may undermine your otherwise serious rebuke of "Krugman The Intellectual".
