Could Ron Paul qualify to become a Saint?

I posted this in a forum, but I wanted to know what you think, about Ron Paul becoming a Saint someday.

When Ron Paul won the Value voters summit they said Ron Paul doesn't accurately reflect the values of voters. Now he has taken Louisiana. Ron Paul has represented, honesty, integrity in the face of devastating odds without comprimise for his entire life, he was in the airforce, been married for 55 years, is a born again christian who lives by his beliefs....

There is little if anything that anyone can say to legitimately besmirch his character. He's an inspiration to people to lead a better life more in line with the teachings of the bible and with respect to their fellow man. The guy should be crowned a Saint, who's worked tirelessy protecting the freedoms and treasure of each American...often and most usually until recently alone, without losing hope in the face of ridicule and repeated losses.

He dedicated how many years, decades even...speaking out against injustice and preaching the beliefs of American character. Voting alone, for at least a declaration of war to identify our an end point to the insanity of spending and destruction of life...he never lost faith.

He answers with honesty, when he is being set up to be mocked. He makes each of us want to be better people, and lets face it, we're driven motivated people. We don't inspire easily. We strive to better ourselves and sacrifice our time and money to elect someone who promises us nothing but the right to work towards a better future.

The guy is a Saint. When he dies the Church will declare Ron Paul the Saint of Liberty, the one who wanted freedom for the people, to abolish usary from our system of government.

Laughed at, demeaned, embarassed, critisized...by everyone. Holding the torch of freedom for decades alone, so one day when everything went dark....there was still light, and we found Ron Paul holding it...and hope sprang anew.

A man who holds truth, honour and integrity as definitions of success. Yeah right..."he doesn't represent the values of voters." The man who said that is part of a large crowd now being embarassed by their ignorance and they hold power and influence more precious than truth. Their lies and critisms to keep at bay real values from being introduced into politics. Whether we like it or not, politics shapes our lives.

Ron Paul is bearing the standard of God, and each day he recruits more believers, giving them hope in the goodness of men and making them want to be better people. The hordes of the lost are finding the path of the righteous...and we are united in every faith, inspired by values every person can commonly hold dear.

Ron Paul. I hear someone say they support him, and they have my trust, they are welcome and they are a friend, because I know they stand for goodness. Although ending the fed, repeal the patriot act..etc. are important...I know they will always stand on the side of good.

Ron Paul doesn't just make you want to be a better person he restores your faith in people.

Penn and Teller

did a Bullshit TV show on this topic. Making people out to be Holier than Thou. Infact I think Holier Than Thou is the title of the episode.
They point out how society makes certain people out to be holier than thou is a bunch of BS. They take Gaundi, Mother Teresa and the Dalai Lama and show how these people are viewed as "god like" perfect people by society however they point out major flaws in all them that in reality makes them just human.
This show is relevant to these types of posts about Ron Paul. Dr. Paul is a great person but he's human and has flaws. We sometimes make people we idolize out to be more than what they are. Calling Dr. Paul a saint is a good example of this.

Saints shoudn't be worshiped....

If you study what saints are, they are created to replace multiple pagan gods from the Roman era. So instead of one god, you pray to many. So gods of war and love and fertility etc. were re-named with Christian figures to unite Rome which was divided. It's technically not biblical and more a political power creation. Also the word of God is Gods law, the constitution and our government is mans law. Which direction did Jesus want us to go? To follow man or Him?

That's just my opinion. I know Santorum supporters find that when he spoke about being a Christian they were drawn in. They think that is priority #1. In a way I DO understand why they would feel that way. I just disagree with the hypocrisy of war and killing while holding a bible.

Yes Ron Paul is closest to being a true Christian (he's not catholic) and holding the principles of Jesus. He actually reads the bible which most likely sets him apart from most other politicians. Still, he thinks the two should be divided, both politics and religion.

Why ask this now?

This just comes across as an off-the-wall idea intended to paint us as cultish kooks worshipping a personality. How is this relevant to getting Dr. Paul elected or to promote the Liberty movement?

As I understand it

To be canonized after death, a person has to have performed two miracles. I would certainly say getting the Republican parties election to POTUS and ending the FED would be two miracles!

Saint Ron Paul, patron saint of liberty, has a ring to it.

I hate these types of posts

I hate these types of posts comparing Paul to Jesus and and Saints blah blah blah

Look up the criteria for sainthood, I'm pretty sure to be a saint the person has to have performed 3 or 4 miracles.. That's the catholic church's criteria anyway. I'm not sure if other denominations declare people saints... either way Ron Paul is a great man why isn't that good enough?

OMG,

Its people like you that make people like me look crazy. Take it down a notch.

Pretty sure no.

He's not even Catholic.

A saint does not have to be Catholic, but I think it helps

Saint Paul the Apostle was jewish

I don't know about "Saint Ron Paul" but...

I do think that he will go down in history as America's last great Patriot and Statesman. Unless Rand continues his father's legacy.
