Water Guns Banned, Handguns Allowed At GOP Convention

In the politically-charged and likely protest-filled streets of Tampa, Fla., during the Republican National Convention in August, water guns will be strictly prohibited. Concealed handguns, on the other hand, will be perfectly legal.

The city plans to have 4,000 law enforcement personnel in the downtown area during the party convention, a move Buckhorn said would create "safe environment" where "a firearm should not be necessary for self-defense."

With 4,000 law enforcement, you never know when one might need a firearm for self-defense!

4,000 law enforcement personnel, eh? Sounds like planned Veterans March and other events supporting Dr. Paul have struck a chord..That's okay, I attended the March in Washington and I'll be expecting Paul supporters to dwarf law enforcement in Tampa..

Every person has ...

Every person has the right and ultimate responsibility of self protection anywhere they go. What part of the last 4 words of the second amendment do they not understand? (the last 4 words are " shall not be infringed " ) That part is absolute, as far as I know it has not been amended and it stands until it is amended. The founders could not have made that any more clear, their is no wiggle room or ambiguity.

They will not, however, be able to have "super soaker" water guns, sticks, poles, portable shields or glass bottles.

Sticks and polls are banned, Makes it more difficult for creative sign making.

As long as their rules are

As long as their rules are followed there should be no violence. As long as we are their in majority there should be no problems with the rules..:)

Seems a bit much for a convention.

Maybe they think they'll need that many when they start hauling off RP supporters as part of their plan to quell the takeover and/or maybe it's a warning to us all that they are ready for what's coming when they try and rob him of his delegates. :)

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

Any effort at censorship of

Any effort at censorship of the Ron Paul crowd can garuntee you a riot or damned near close to one.
Most Ron Paul supporters are peaceful and like normal people when everything is fair and the rules are followed. Unlike other people however, many of us are not afraid to stand up and resist being trampled over.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

Most of ANY demonstration are

Most of ANY demonstration are peaceful. Most people in Seattle and Oakland yesterday were peaceful. Doesn't take many people to go against the majority's "peaveful" plan to turn things very ugly.

A good chunck of us wouldn't be here if that weren't true

for sure.
