Ron Paul beats Obama 49-41 in Montana. Among independents, he crushes 55-33.

Romney leads Obama 48-43, down from a 50-40 advantage when PPP last polled the [Montana] in November. Worse for Romney is that his soon-to-be-vanquished intraparty foe Ron Paul actually leads Obama by eight points (49-41). Obama is able to keep it relatively close here because he basically ties Romney with the plurality independents, while Paul leads by 22 points.

And here is a link to my critique of the pollsters 5/8 PPP again - on their "analysis" of the data from Ohio - they do not even mention Ron Paul!

Ron Paul ... forever.

Just to add in my two cents

Just to add in my two cents on this article because it is my home state lol, in my county, gallatin, i'm in college and we completely took over the local gop with our campus group and with the 27 available delegates to the state convention we took 23 solid for Ron Paul. Last year our county was the only county making the difference between Ron Paul and Mccain. Mccain took Montana only because of our county, so if everyone has done their work in the other cities across Montana, Ron Paul will win here. He will definitely win on the ballot thats for sure.. everywhere you look out here theres Ron Paul bumper stickers even in small rural towns outside of Bozeman, you'll enter the town and see a "Welcome to ** Ron Paul for president." It's f ucking fantastic!

I hope that everyone is still excited as hell!

The MSM is scrambling as hard as they can right now to make damn sure that people do not figure out that Ron Paul's plan to target delegates is working incredibly well and he actually has a legitimate shot at becoming the Republican nominee. Can we really imagine the historical significance of a Ron Paul presidency? That would put us right in the middle of one of the most incredible eras in all of human existance! We could see the beginning of the reemergence of the free market system and study of personal liberties would be the trend across the world!! The excitement and dedication of Ron Paul supporters is going to be what makes his momentum impossible to ignore so I just hope that we all packed a fuckin lunch because we gotta be in this one for the long haul.

plus:

I've been dreaming about a Paul vs Obama debate for the last four years! The consequences of that debate would be limitless! Two nights ago Ron Paul destroyed one of the FED's most celebrated economists (Paul Krugman) in a debate. Krugman couldn't even get a single intelligent comment out that had anythig to do with the deficiencies in his defense of FED intervention. Could you imagine a guy like Obama trying to defend his economic policy against Ron?? It would be the most epic verbal ass beating that ever took place! Then the good doctor would prescribe a little stint in constitutional re-education camp for our pinko proffessor of [un]constitutional law.

On a serious note though, can we even imagine the implications of that debate? Watching a commander in chief, who fancies himself a brilliant constitutional scholar, scramble to turn the debate subject away from constitutional authority. That would be the best part though because he would be trying to play the usual msm games of flipping the conversation to worthless personal attacks, but he would run right into the brick wall that is Ron Paul's incorruptibility. So we would have perhaps the biggest perpetrator of corrupt government hand outs to the politically connected ever to be in the office of the executive, pushing a nationally televised debate into personal attacks against possibly the most irreproachable man to ever hold a national office in American history.

Please be excited because Ron Paul has a legitimate shot at being the Republican nominee and his chances are getting better everyday. We could live through one of the most incredibly great things to ever happen in human history. I truly believe this and i hope you do too.

please be nice...

...to Democrats. They constitute a large chunk of current Ron Paul supporters on the fence - in the polls. Not Romney's. Ron Paul needs these votes, as does America. And it is not about Democrats vs. Republicans anymore.

Ron Paul ... forever.

independents by 22?!?!

Dingdingding... Mercy...uncle...

Sorry but this article give Romney

wayyyyyy to much credit He is not going to fair that well against Obama.

Shifting Paradigms, my friend

I know right? They barely Mention Paul, just because they almost have to because he is still in the election... but quickly pass it off that, oh well he is doing worse than he did in 08 when it was a three way race...

wait, what? did they ignore that the majority of this was a 4 way race??? Oh and overall his voting support on the ballots has doubled almost everywhere... someone is getting their facts wrong here... unless they are just looking at PA... then yeah... we "lost" support...

Hold up here gang

The most important thing to

The most important thing to consider when looking at who would be better for opposing Obama is not the poll numbers.

The most important thing to consider is who will least likely be crushed by Obama. All of Obama's arguements are against what the GOP stands for, which Romney is a perfect representative of. The general election will not be about issues if it is Obama vs Romney. It will be character assasinations and class warefare.

If it was Ron Paul vs Obama, then the Obama machine would be falling all over itself trying to figure out how to win. Class warefare would fail. No possibility for using character assassination. Obama would be in constant defense against his support for the NDAA, patriot act, wars, failed economy, assassination of American citizens, abuse of executive power, unconstitutional wars -- all things Romney couldn't use.

The same reasons Ron

The same reasons Ron should've been the nominee in 2008 still apply.

Yes!!!

You've said exactly what I've been thinking for quite some time.

And, I think Ron Paul vs Obama in a debate is what we all dream of. For Obama to have to defend himself again all those things - WOW! I don't think he would be ready on his best day to defend himself as the warmongering, anti-liberty candidate. But, hmmm, up against Romney he's a peace candidate just like in '08.

Dr. Paul would gain much more momentum as the nominee simply because more people will be exposed to the message of Liberty.

What would Obama do in a

What would Obama do in a debate with Paul? He couldn't hold a candle to Paul's economic knowledge. He's a fascist and power-grabber, which would come through in a debate. And Obama's foreign policy would crumble, and he would stumble without a teleprompter.

What I find peculiar

is the line about Johnson pulling from Romney. Johnson's and Romney's supporters shouldn't technically be the same.

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

What's telling is...

the favorability ratings. It is more important than who their pick is for the actual GOP nomination.

Ron Paul has the best spread. He is only -11 whereas Romney is -12.

The fact is that the GOP is never going to go crazy for Romney and they're never going to go crazy for Ron Paul. But with a favorability rating better than Romney, it means the GOP is just as ready to settle for Paul as they are Romney, and that's good for us.

I agree

But while the GOP may never go crazy for Ron Paul, America will!

A vote for Romney = A vote

A vote for Romney = A vote for Obama

Beat Obama! Vote Ron Paul!

Love how the headline is

Love how the headline is "Romney narrowly leads Obama" and not "Paul crushes Obama".

Paul leads Romney and crushes Obama

The reason that Obama and

The reason that Obama and Romney poll so close is because of the fact that they're so similar. Anyone can flip a coin to decide which of the two they should vote for. You can't say the same for Ron Paul and that is why he does so well against Obama, especially with independents.

Quick Article

I put together a quick write-up on this story. Keep spreading the word everyone, we're going to win this thing yet!

good summary

Cuts to the chase. Well done.

You definitely won't see this mentioned on Fox (fake) News

I have watched their website and if you go to the general politics page and do a search for Ron Paul you will not find any as in zippo. Then click elections from there and search for Paul, well then you might get a few hits one at the top under his name as they haven't removed that yet, I am thinking that will happen (by accident of course) one day or either an article making Dr Paul look bad or an article about Paul Ryan instead, but never a real article about what is truly happening concerning Ron Paul. Even if you click on his name you will not find any I mean any real content regarding Ron Paul. I think they still have an old article on there about some policy and now making a big deal about his campaign not getting back to them about that soldier who spoke at one of his rallies. Oooooh, that is real info there I tell ya.

It's just amazing how the media...

It's just amazing how the media continues to completely ignore the fact that Ron Paul polls better against Obama than Mitt Romney. It's quite sickening to me, they are passing up on such a story.

That is great except their reporting on it stinks!

I guess they "know" Ron Paul is soon-to-be-vanquished? In the article it reads: Romney leads Obama 48-43, down from a 50-40 advantage when PPP last polled the state in November. Worse for Romney is that his soon-to-be-vanquished intraparty foe Ron Paul actually leads Obama by eight points (49-41). Obama is able to keep it relatively close here because he basically ties Romney with the plurality independents, while Paul leads by 22 points.

At this point, Romney is far more popular than Paul with Republicans, and has two-thirds of the vote in the caucus, while Paul only maintains the quarter of the vote he got in the three-way 2008 caucus. But with independents, Romney has a lot of work to do, and this is true and more problematic for him in swing states where Obama is doing just as well as he did in 2008 because of Romney’s toxicity with independents and Democrats. That is on top of lingering doubts with some partisan Republicans who were not behind him in the primary battle.
