California Voter Confusion - letters to editorsSubmitted by Rowdius on Fri, 05/04/2012 - 11:43
As discussed here
a high percentage of voters in California, perhaps half, believe that they do not need to be registered Republican to vote for a Presidential nominee in our June 5th Primary. That's because a lot of attention has been paid to the fact that we just switched to Open Primaries, but it was never made clear that the change does not apply to the Presidential Race. So a lot of people in California are going to go to the polls expecting to vote for Ron Paul, but he won't be on the ballot because they are not registered Republican.
There is still time to register Republican - registrations must be received by May 21st - and the form can be filled out online and mailed in:
If you live in California, you can help by writing a Letter to the Editor of you local paper about the problem.
