Which Browser and Why?

Okay, so which browser seems best? I have been happy with Safari and Chrome was great until I started getting surveys that wouldn't let me go. I am also hearing some negative things about Google business practices.

Firefox has caught my attention and I am hearing good things here on the DP about it. Like, no CISPA.

I am just looking for a little input before I make the switch and have to adapt to yet another browser. I need to find a home.

I do like Safari. Simple. It isn't the catchiest and the plug-ins are limited in selection (or I am not looking very hard). Obviously I am using a Mac if that helps with any advice you may give.

Thoughts? Thanks.

firefox is good. all kinds of convenient and privacy oriented addons.

Yes.

That is what I am seeing. I was seriously considering down loading the TOR browser bundle when I noticed it only worked with Firefox. Are you familiar with TOR? Does it slow speeds down and is it really worth it?

TOR works great but it is

TOR works great but it is true that it slows your computer down a bit. I wouldn't trust it completely for privacy because there is still the potential that your computer has a trojan or logger spying on you. Deep wep is fun to browse if your an info nut like me.

Deep wep?

Sorry, I am pretty green here. I too am an info nut. All my bookmarks are news sources and liberty/constitutional material.

Is there that much potential of trojans and loggers? Doesn't Mac stand up to that a little better than PC?

If I am getting annoying feel free to just throw me a link and I will quit bothering you. Like I said, I am green.

haha typo! deep web. It's

haha typo! deep web. It's basically a black market for info and networking. It's become necessary for hackers and info nuts to create a haven for otherwise censored info. If you talk around some IRC's you can potentially find some of the leaked emails that anon hacked from stratfor. When they dumped the info (hackers usually dump all info without looking at it) they needed people to sort through them because there was just SO MUCH DATA lol. Anyways deep web is accessible by the tor browser.

As for the trojans and stuff, you're pretty safe if you have a mac, safer if you have a router, and EVEN MORE safe if you have tor. I was referring to trojans that you might have already without your knowledge. TOR is more than a browser it's a HUGE network of organized nerds.

This is a link to a google image that explains it all

You can lurk 4chan and other similar sites and score some pretty interesting deepweb links ;). Just be advised if you participate in any of their shinanigans or do anything illegal without adequate security (ie a good proxy, the FBI will get ya lol.

Have fun.

Thanks.

For the tip and the warning. I think I will play it safe for now and just do Firefox and TOR. That deep web sounds over my head and the family doesn't need me sitting in a federal prison right now.

Just to be clear...deep web isn't illegal itself, just using it for the "wrong" is. Right?

What is IRC? I don't mean to be a pest but you have me curious is all. I don't really know where to start.

Is there anyway to find out if I already have trojans?

What is 4chan?

i hate to bother you with all my questions. Really. I just want to know some of this stuff. You know, find out how deep the rabbit hole is without going past the point of no return.

Aahhh

Just checked the link...wow!

I had no idea...

Knowing it's there is probably enough for now.

I wonder what the rev forums are like there. Very curious about that.
