Obama Launches Campaign in Empty Arena

but the most newsworthy item of the day was not the talking points Obama delivered: it was the crowd... or lack thereof. According to ABC News, the Obama campaign had expected an "overflow" of people. Instead, the arena looked half-empty. The Columbus Dispatch reports that Obama organizers even had people move from the seats to the floor of the gym in order to project a larger crowd on television.

Haha, too funny.

But, it's still scary to think that he could still draw a crowd of over 10,000. There's still a lot of deadheads out there who think the government should take care of them.

As someone who has been to

As someone who has been to the Schottenstein Center, where the rally was, many times, the crowd was close to 14,000. The bottom seats about 8,000 and was full. The upper deck seats about 10,000 and was about 40 percent full. Then factor in the folks on the floor.

I find it interesting that Dr. Paul consistently draws over 5,000 folks and up to 10,000 for his rallies and the Neo-Con media doesn't care to talk about it in comparison to Romney struggling to draw 10 percent of that total.

In the interest of fairness...

It appears the breitbart image is misleading, they are not exactly the most objective unbiased outfit.
Here's a video from a spectator at the event showing the crowd. I wouldn't exactly call that empty. Perhaps less than he previously would draw or should draw considering his high profile, but certainly a sizeable crowd.

Ya they said 14,000 but it

Ya they said 14,000 but it did not look close to that, to me..not close.

Neocon website suddenly cares

Neocon website suddenly cares about crowd size? Have they reported on Rmoney's passionate following?

Obama lost his 2008 fire

and it has move to the Ron Paul campaign! Ron Paul better have his victory speech ready at Tampa.

The guy was a fraud from the outset....pure hype. All smoke, no fire my friend, think again.

It was a mistake for his campaign

but it's still probably better than Ron would have drawn. Of course we won't know unless Ron holds an event in the same venue.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Put Down the Crack Pipe

Ron drew an arena full in 2008 while the RNC was blocks away. WTF do you think it'll be like this year?

Get a grip....

Yeah, we had about 13,000 show up for that.

I'm with you in thinking he'll do better than that if there's a grand finale this year. But here we are trying to compare one BHO event to the best RP events. Need to get a grip.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

Huh? Even the worst-ranking professional

sports team can draw bigger crowds than our sitting President and this is your comment? Say what?

I'm just saying

we shouldn't get too cocky. There's a lot of hard work ahead of us and we need to be realistic. Also, one sad fact of life is that there are more sports fans than there are people interested in politics.

New Hampshire and Ecuador.

I tweeted to all the Sunday morning news pundits:

Obama launches campaign in empty arena. Ron Paul gets 8,000 and does a delegate sweep. Public will get news elsewhere.

Yeah, they can comment on how empty...

...the arena was. Now why don't they start talking about how Ron Paul is drawing crowds all over the country! Oh yeah, they might be afraid exposing the truth might quadruple Paul's crowds! The M.S.M. already has egg all over their faces! Ha-ha! How truly weak they all are!

14,000! WOW!

That's like a Romney crowd times ten thousand! Or two Ron Paul rallies.

There was 14000 people

There was 14000 people there.

Dont get your hopes up yet, we have still have to beat Romney.

And after that, the final boss, Obama.

No way 14,000 - That's ThinkProgress Propaganda

This is the PRESIDENT.

If Ron Paul were president that place would have been pandemonium

Look at the picture.
