Youtube recommends videos to watch after you have finished with one video and I think they base the recommendations around what other people go on to watch after. For example if you are watching something called 'ron paul documentary part 1' then when you have finished, you search for 'ron paul documentary part 2'...youtube eventually learns then to recommend the part 2 video to people.
So if enough people watch obama's video and then search for the titles of my videos, then youtube might start recommendingn them.
