Considering
Ben Swann aired ol Charlie Webster stating the straw poll didn't matter anyway, they don't have a leg to stand on
wtf...
i thought the campaign was over and Romney had the nomination sewn up? Why the hell would Romney bother with a little state like Maine if the MSM's numbers have any credibility at all?

I love all of the comments ...
... in the comments section. Lots of true RP supporters calling the article out of the blatant lies spread by the Romney campaign through the article. Awesome.
Ron Paul's campaign is not worried. Sweetness reigns.

We need to support this man so others may follow.
The RNC is the DIRTIEST - ROTTED - Organization around
THEY PROMISED ROMNEY the nomintaion in 2008 so they are LYING NOW to try to make it happen.
I WILL NEVER-NEVER-NEVER EVER vote for Romney.

I Hope We (RP Campaign & Supporters) Are Prepared But...
It seems we are not since we can't even raise $650k for Paul!!! Come on people - donate!!! Getting delegates to the convention will be expensive and the campaign has to have funds to compete seriously for remaining states.
The main reason this will never happen is
that any type of challenge will just propel Ron Paul's campaign and its success into the news. We know that can't happen.
If not us than who?
LOL
Romney is going to challenge everything Paul wins, even when Paul clearly wins the nomination and Romney doesn't. He just realized that Paul has a far larger support base than everyone predicted. Too late, we're prepared for anything and everything...nothing Romney and his sheep pull will surprise us.
They'll do anything.
They're criminals.
Let's start getting Romney's counterfeit slate out in public view and see if he still wants to play.
Basically, I've had it up to here with Romney and all his goons, and if we can't settle this in the Convention Hall in Tampa, then I'm ready to take it out to the parking lot.
This is all out war.
as I posted elsewhere the guy
as I posted elsewhere the guy handing out the fake slates 'Charlie' from Massachusetts, was a Romney observer at the vote counts. His tag was folded so his name only read Charlie on Sunday. What's up with the name Charlie???
My .02
This is all a PUBLICITY stunt to:
0. Talk about ANYTHING other than the MASSIVE crowds coming out for the r3VOLution!!
1. Keep the narrative about Romney (i.e. cheated out of his "victory")
2. Put Ron Paul and US on the defensive by calling us cheaters (when we know who the REAL cheaters are)
3. Avoid discussing the Possibilities of future wins by RP campaign in upcoming states.
4. Avoid any fallout that could come from Romney and the GOP's breaking of Rule #11
That's it....no smoke, no fire, just giving the presstitutes some negative commentary with which to spin the wins.
Your morals =/= my laws.
Still in a fog
I attended the Maine GOP with a number of Ron Paul supporters. I urge every one that took pictures or video to post it where you can but make sure its protected for later use. I swear if I had not been there I would not of believed the level of deception, fraud, disrespect, hatred the Republican establishment showed the Ron Paul supporters. Ron Paul would be so proud of the manner in wish his supporters handled themselves in response to blatant hate and anger from quite a few self proclaimed Rommey supporters. We were organized and followed EVERY rule. But I tell you it was horrible to experience but it sure did solidify my resolve I will NOT support this corrupt party and I will NOT give my vote away to pressure. And I would be in the other side of fifty crowd. God Bless Ron Paul
The heat at the convention
The heat at the convention was excruciating as well. I thought I was going to die after all the hours of delaying and stalling. In the end though, pulling off a victory despite the cheating makes it all the sweeter :)
That's Right
Assigning Romney 7 delegates and Paul 1 was perfectly okay in the Virgin Islands where Paul won the popular vote, and the GOP claimed Romney the winner with the delegate count; but the same idea will not fly now in Maine (according to them) because the tables are turned. Isn't this the precise application of the term "cry baby"?
MItt Romney's Maine Hacks: A Textbook Case of Sore Losers
I was the Portland Delegate chair at the convention, won Cumberland Committeeman and won one of the 1st District alternate spots to the national convention. I was also working my butt off with all the rest of my amazing fellow Maine patriots from dawn to dusk getting these results.
TO THE POINT-> I just want everyone to be clear on this whole ridiculous idea of Romney "challenging" the results. It's a bunch of BS. Both days were completely video and paper documented by multiple sources. One of the parliamentarians working with Brent is one of the top parliamentarians in the world hired by the RNC specifically to rule on conventions.
We spoke with him after it was over and he was the one who explained to us how to successfully adjourn the meeting when we had a bit of an issue with Romney's lawyers holding up one of the ballot counts. This parliamentarian even told Brent he thought he was an 8 out of 10 for chairs he's worked with. And that was Brent's first time ever chairing something of this magnitude! YOU ROCK BRENT TWEED!!!!!
So, this is nonsense to distract us and poorly veiled bullying tactics which is what they also tried during the convention. They're just grasping at straws to continue the ridiculous pretense that mittens is going to win the nomination.
Please upvote this reply, and/or turn this into a thread, and definitely pass this info around. We won Maine for Ron Paul and we will be seated with the results of 20/24 delegates and 21/21 alternates.
Oh and Charles Cragin is a Mitt Romney hack who was paid just to railroad us at the convention. Sorry whiney baby. NOT!!! I know those 4 votes cost you a crapload of money. LOL
FREEDOM!

What's amazing is that I went
What's amazing is that I went to the convention with 3 other Paul delegates, and we almost didn't go due to transportation issues. Thank god we made it though, because that would have been 4 less votes for Tweed exactly.
Breath of fresh air
Thank you Brent Tweed you were great. You held you cool and tried to keep things going. I don't know how you did it, but I truly thank you. Without you I don't think liberty would have prevailed. I am telling anyone not there this guy was tested and provoked to the extreme for two friggin days.
Brent Tweed = BOSS!!!
:D
Thank You!
I want to thank every liberty loving, Ron Paul supporting delegate at the Convention this weekend who voted for the full Ron Paul National Delegate Slate. If you check out the names on the slate and look at my name, you will see who I will supporting in Tampa :-)
Were you the chairman in
Were you the chairman in Belfast when they tried to screw with your town's caucus results? I thought I saw you on TV :P
Charlie Webster chaired the meeting
Charlie Webster chaired the meeting up until he ran the vote that put Tweed in. So that cannot be contested.
From that point on the Romney people cast objections and point of orders that were frivolous and meant to disrupt and delay the procedures.
After lunch, the less-motivated Romney supporters did not return and the Paul people had a clear numbers advantage. By the second day the advantage was even more clearly noticeable as were the Romney attacks on the chair. Romney people were disruptive to the point that after the vote of no confidence was clearly put down, Chairman Tweed quoted several passages from Robert's Rules of Order, that, in layman terms simply said, that when the proceedings are being continually interrupted by the same voices those voices may be ruled out of order without discussion and may be not heard at all.
In several instances this was done, but usually Tweed would hear the objection so it could not be said that he was biased.
Most of the room felt the bias was in favor of Romney supporters! (in an attempt to not show bias toward Paul) e.g., day one the proceedings were delayed by the hundreds of Romney people who arrived late and were still in the registration line more than an hour past most. But the process waited so that they could all get in. Everything was being delayed by Romney people who tried to shut down the convention at several different times- obviously they wanted NO delegates assigned and Maine NOT represented rather than have a sweep by Ron Paul delegates which was the obvious destiny!
My UStream videos may certainly come in handy if there are any procedural challenges. I have roughly 90+% of the two days.
Your Videos Were the LifeLine
The Maine convention was historic. People from all over the world were tuned in watching while posting to the open thread here on DP. The energy was palpable. When Brent Tweed finally took the gavel, you could feel the paradigm shift.
Now your videos will prove to be essential in any contest of procedure that may come from all this. It was a monumental occasion, and each and every one of of the people there, sitting through all those boring speeches, were heroic. There are not enough words in the universe to thank each of you. Choirs of angels are singing: "Blessings to the People! Long live Liberty!"
I watched the entire broadcast
Thank you Octojofo!
"What if the American people learn the truth" - Ron Paul
Me too!
Can't thank Octojofo enough for live-streaming that for us. It was a great service to us all.
All I've read
are a bunch of general accusations of "things" that the RP people did being illegal. Has anyone heard or read what specific things they did that were illegal? I would really like to know what rules were broken, because I've been under the impression that our people pretty much play straight by the book.
The contention revolves
The contention revolves around the fact that the balloting was done when the convention was not convened is my understanding. This happened because of all the stalling and shenanigans of the Romney people that delayed the whole day.
In the afternoon the county chairs were called to I believe the Cumberland room to recieve the ballots for electing national delegates. The convention was in recess. When I came back to my county (Sagadahoc), the ballots were being handed out by municipality. I went over to the person who had the ballots for my town (was NOT the duly elected delegate chair (RP supporter), but a Romney supporter who had already accused me of impropriety as a vote counter simply because I had a Ron Paul sticker on. She gave me the ballot and said she needed it back right away. At this point there was quite a bit of chaos on the floor. The chair announced there should not be ballots on the floor at this time. Mind you the convention was NOT in session and people were milling about in hallways and what not. I spread the word not to pass in ballots and ripped mine up and threw it out.
The Romney's cried foul and more pandemodeum broke out. Our county chair (Romney guy) said he was instructed to disseminate the ballots but when pressed on who instructed him gave NO answer.
Anyway, to make a long story short since my son is sitting here who I haven't been with in three days, it was voted that new ballots should be made and the voting take place before Saturday ended. In order to do this since the counties had yet to conduct their business the rules were suspended and voting was allowed to take place in the individual county caucuses. This is what they're contesting. It is my understanding that according to RNC rules the voting for delegates must take place with the convention in session. These are the rules that were suspended to allow the voting to take place in the county conventions instead so the voting could get done on Saturday. Therefore there is NO foul and nothing to contest since the suspension passed. They're just sore losers.
The Romney Campaign,
and the RNC have been cheating from the get go,but i guess that's alright. It's only when the Paul campaign wins by going by the rules that we've got a problem.Rule breaker Romney should not be allowed to continue, and the RNC board should be arrested to a person.
Some see things as they are and say why,but i dream things that never were and say why not. Robert F. Kennedy
Precisely!
It was perfectly okay to assign Romney 7 delegates and Paul only 1 in the Virgin Islands after Paul won the popular vote, and the GOP claimed Romney the winner with the delegate count. But allowing Paul the preponderance of delegate in Maine will not fly (according to the Romney people) because now the tables are turned. Isn't this the exact application of the term "cry baby"?
nothing unusal, this is how the process works.
In the 2008 contest, Romney won 52 percent of the Maine caucuses, more than double John McCain's 21 percent and Paul's 19 percent. But McCain left the 2008 state convention with 20 delegates, leaving Paul with one. Three were uncommitted.
