Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and other candidates speak to a crowd of 7,000 organized by the Tea Party Express at the Texas State Capitol on 5/6/12. Rand Paul mentioned that Harry Reid told him a few days ago that the Tea Party is dead...LOL! Video'd with an iPhone.

AUSTIN — Ron Paul has told thousands of supporters that "we have infiltrated the Republican Party" in the name of defending liberty.

Hey guys, just added a few pics of the Tea Party rally at the capitol building in Austin...mixed in a gallery that includes the larger, Ron Paul rally @ the LBJ Library lawn.

Please feel free to use the photos for whatever you like. Enjoy!

"Be not intimidated... nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice." - John Adams

Ted Cruz is a joke

He runs on his record as an attorney, but if you look at the part of his record that he ignores, you will recognize that he is willing to adjust his principals based on who's buying.

Beyond that, his wife is ex-Goldman Sachs and served for 5 years on the Council for Foreign Relations. A true Conservative couldn't stand to look at someone they know was on the CFR, let alone live with her.

Glenn Addison is the guy. A truly Liberty minded candidate.

There is going to be a run-off in that race, no matter what. Vote for Addison, and if Cruz and Dewhurst go to a run-off, vote for Cruz. If Addison makes the run-off, push him through. He is an honest Patriot.

And he endorsed...

Rick Perry for Potus.

Ted Cruz's family

Probably few are aware that Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi is a vice president for Goldman Sachs. Would they be more disturbed to know about her work on the independent task force that wrote “Building a North American Community” which was sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations. Her bio in that report says, “HEIDI S. CRUZ is an energy investment banker with Merrill Lynch in Houston, Texas. Prior to government service, Ms. Cruz was an investment banker with J.P. Morgan in New York City.”

Don't see how Ted could be Tea Party nor even for Liberty.

Addison is a good man...and dedicated TRUE Constitutionalist

I'd seen an announcement that ADDISON was to appear at the Rally yesterday, but 'apparently' plans were changed.

AND Richard Mack was ALSO scheduled to appear...but NOPE! (But several of us DID get to hear what he 'would' have said at an 'After Rally' gathering...)

They invited him 3 days before

the event. Short notice much? They then called him at 10:30 the morning of, and said he could attend, but would not be allowed to speak. He was already on his way there. He felt it was important to be there, so he went anyway.

Dirty establishment tricks.

What sucks, is he could have attended a Tea Party event here in Houston, or a meet-the-candidates event that I was coordinating. I contacted his campaign to try to get him or a rep to show up. His volunteer coordinator came to spread his message.

Where's the speech?

No full speech anywhere it seems.

One suggestion: DP should have a video section where ALL RP speeches are available. This is important for newcomers especially. Ron Paul speeches should be given top priority, more so given the current 'tour'.

Unfortunately, I have not managed to find this speech anywhere on the web (so far).

Didn't see a blip of this on the boob tube.

No wonder. I'm sure the RNC is going all out to blackout Ron Paul, especially in Texas, where a Ron Paul victory could really wake people from the Mitt afternoon slumber. That being said, now is the time for Ron Paul to re-claim anyone that has ever considered themselves a Tea Party member. It's his right to claim the leadership. Hopefully, this will pull many of the SlickRik, NewtronBomb, PistolPackingPerry, and even the CainTrain people on board. There has always been a sour sentiment in the GOP, anybody but Mitt.

This

is part of the silliness I was referring to below.

The Tea Party Express has their own theme song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKlI-A4IQBY

They sang this at the rally yesterday. Luckily, we were far away from the speakers....;)

"Weeeee're the Teeeea PArty exprESSS, and we're ROCKIN' through yo tooown"
*pukes on keyboard*
I think the 7000 number is not even close. IDK where that estimate came from. Still mostly were RP supporters and it was a good time regardless of the goofy "mousekateer" atmosphere. The intelligence of the RP supporters seemed to balance it out.

Some dude had a table set up and was "on a mission" to get Palin elected at a brokered convention, and his hopes were resting in Dr. Paul to "deliver" that brokered convention. I wasted about .5 more seconds on that guy.

Not sure

I'm also unsure what this event means. I haven't had time to exhaustively read about.

But, the fact that Rand pretty much explicitly endorsed him, and Ron was willing to share an event with him, makes me think that at least Dr. Paul is not offended by him.

[Sorry, this was meant to be in reply to HonorGod]

Mark,

Ron has shared the stage with many over the years. Ron also knows that those who support him will INFORM THEMSELVES of potential Candidates.

One has to temporarily capitalize on given situations when it will benifit a particular ooutcome.

One of the entertainers mentioned they were on HUCKABEE the other day, that comment did not garner any "booing", but you and I both know that a Paul supporter, IN NO WAY, gives a rats-end about Huckabee or his ILK. Because Ron and Rand were at that co-opted "TEA PARTY EXPRESS" rally does that mean he endorses Huckle-Berry and his show? A resounding "NO".

So, You had better investigate Cruz and anyone else. If you FOLLOW like a SHEEP what anyone of significance says, you are no different than the MASSES that have allowed the current corrupt sob's in office.

A Chick from YAL and the original Tea Party in Boston Dec 16th, 2007 was there and endorsed Cruz, does than mean he is the "MAN"? No, in fact, HELL NO. Investigate is all I ask.

Has the TEA PARTY EXPRESS endorsed RON PAUL? NO, yet they want us to endorse who they endorse? Sorry.

Tea Party Express, the nation’s largest Tea Party political action committee, is coming through Texas on Friday with its “Restoring the American Dream” national bus tour. The tour will be holding six rallies throughout the entire state with special guest speakers including Tea Party Express-Endorsed Solicitor General Ted Cruz, Presidential candidate Congressman Ron Paul, Senator Rand Paul, and many more.

That "Tea Party Express-Endorsed" comment is not inclusive to Rand/Ron Paul... THINK, is all I ask.

AND

Go to thier previous endorsements. I checked Texas and saw "CARTER" freekin "CARTER"... Mr. gd Patriot act, NDAA and CISPA HIMSELF.

THINK

The Crowd?

It looks like this was a great event. I especially like the (almost) endorsement of Ted Cruz for Senate by Dr. Paul. I live in Texas, in Ron Paul's district, and there are so many people running for his seat, as well as for Senate. I have been trying to figure out the field, and RP's opinions would mean a lot to me. Dr. Paul's silence on the field to replace him is deafening.

Ok, now for my concern. When I looked at these videos, the first thing I thought was, 7,000? It just doesn't look possible to me. Then, Ted Cruz's campaign in a news article mentioned 1,500, which seems much closer to what I see. How was 7,000 arrived at?

I really dislike these excessive crowd estimates. It makes us look like uncritical fanboys. We have to keep our rationality with us as we push the Liberty message and Ron Paul.

Sorry

I dont Buy the Ted Cruz endorsement AT ALL. I could be wrong, but I don't buy it.

Susie 4 Liberty's picture

Do your own research on Cruz

And Heidi Suzanne Cruz, his wife...

It's my understanding that Rand endorsed him, and I've written a letter to Rand - like that will make a difference!

Question

Should I add this one to the site? Does it count as soley his crowd or a combined?

http://www.dailypaul.com/224739/website-timeline-of-ron-paul...

I was there

So I'm gonna say that if Ron Paul wasn't going to be there, they maybe would have brought in just 100 people, and that's a big maybe, everyone was there to see Ron. The signs and rp gear gave them all away :)

Well,

I was there also, and I disagree with the 100 people. If Ron was not there, I think they might have had 101 show up. AND... I DO NOT BUY THE TED CRUZ Endorsement. Sorry Rand and Ron, I don't buy it

Susie 4 Liberty's picture

I'm unaware of ANY endorsement by Ron Paul

of the Cruz candidacy. (Rand, yes...)

You gonna love

this one!!

Don't hate the player, hate the game!!!

Does anyone else realize

that in politics they always say there is a low tern out like 1% to 5% well if that is the case and Ron Paul has this large of a crowd his actually supporters must be a lot bigger! You cant tell me that every single supporter of Ron Paul is showing up every time it simply can not happen. His numbers are lager then you think.

They need to also show up in

They need to also show up in terms of campaign donations then. Rally attendances alone won't carry us. Our last moneybomb target wasn't met. But after big victories in Louisiana, Iowa, Maine, Nevada...this is the best time to go after Romney. He's most vulnerable right now & HAS to be brought down in Texas. Assuming Ron Paul's (or even anti-Romney in general) base is big enough, there HAS to be a base of NEWER donors located urgently. Such people who've never donated to the campaign need to realize: This is NOW OR NEVER time to bring down the establishment fraud candidate.

Immoral funding of Military Industrial Complex by Federal Reserve and US taxation system must stop!!!! End illegal/unconstitutional wars! Preserve US currency!

1 understatement + 1 lie = 1 lousy report

"Paul has attracted big crowds on college campuses in many states, but hasn't won any presidential caucuses or primaries."

Knock-knock. Anyone home?

Jefferson's picture

Nice time..

It was an interesting mix of people.

The Tea Party Express is this cheesy roadshow, with rappers, country singers, and a couple of other goofy entertainers IMO..

It was kinda "mousekateer-ish"

Anyway, the majority of the crowd were visible RP supporters and their voices got heard today. I think it was good for the johnny come lately "tea party" Palin/Beck 9/12 types to see a WIDE range of Ron Paul supporters. I saw quite a few elderly people, combat veterans for RP, of course the (YAL) "young people," and all ages in between.
It was a good mix, and hopefully these TPE folks will support the good doctor when the time comes. Now would be even better.

Got to see some old friends and meet some new quality people. Glad I went. Grandmaster "Nui" should have a video up at some point.

Susie 4 Liberty's picture

AND I was really surprised to hear WHO started the Tea Party

This 'new' movement, that is... According to the woman heading up the Tea Party Express, it was SHE - in 2008 - so she announced from the Podium.

Susie 4 Liberty

Jefferson's picture

I didn't catch that.

Surprised that falsehood wasn't met with boos. Oh well. Glad people were on their best behavior.

We were hangin' next to a lady that had a RP sticker on the back of her shirt, and at the bottom it said dailypaul.com.

She said that she had 2000 printed up and finds various creative ways to distribute them. Nice the see the DP represented here in Texas.

Turns out, she's shopped at our garden supply store, and had been supplying raw milk to my friend's dad . Small world.

I got your video.....

Right here!
Good times Buddy. :)
Cheers!

Was my early "Mother's Day" gift - from my "Sweetheart"

And I agree with you on what I experienced compared to other events I've only 'viewed'. BUT, surprisingly, saw several 'new friends' with whom I spent MUCH time in TX in the 'parking garage' - literally - during our SD14 Caucus. And the crowd was neat... Hard to see/hear the speakers.

Small AFTER Rally gathering? With Richard Mack showing? (Whom I'd understood was to speak, as was Glenn Addison?) Was really fun for me - and my Joe just 'let me do my thing'!

Quite a gift from that good man...

I didn't see you

I tried to see if I could find you. It was too loud to call you there.
