Presumptive President Paul Trumps Presumptive Nominee Romney

After three (or is it 4?) consecutive great weekends for the Ron Paul delegate strategy, I was wondering if Mitt Romney was starting to think: "What's the point of being presumptive nominee if Ron Paul is presumptive president?"
Announcing Romney as the presumptive nominee was of course pure propaganda, with a new buzz phrase for the occasion. That's the propagandists way, and their toolbox is looking very primitive these days. Of course, it will be up to American voters to decide, but there is nothing to stop Ron Paul supporters around the world from countering at this stage by referring to "Presumptive President Ron Paul."

It is all about perception. When people have heard it enough times they will start to believe it. That is how the MSM manipulate popular belief and it works.

The Founders had foresight
That popularity votes could be easily swayed by powerful interests and propaganda; therefore delegates were selected to represent the people. A lot of people really don't bother much with voting until the General Election, yet many do feel it their duty to vote in the Primary... and most of them are influenced in our day by MSM. Fortunately, the delegate process is still the procedure for electing candidates... and only those people who are proactive attend and participate, thus ensuring a more involved and serious selection process.
Yes, Romney's popularity votes in many states suggest, by tradition, the expectation that delegates are bound to him. However, I think the Founders were genius in providing a means to allow a more thoughtful process to unfold via delegates. And we still follow the delegate process. (Otherwise why bother with delegates, why not just take the popular vote? Because people can be misled. For years and years Americans HAVE been misled, lied to, and fed propaganda. Our saving grace is in the delegates.)
The Founders were genius. And this confirms in my view WHY we still need the Electoral College in the General Election and should not convert to election by popular vote.
This is my opinion after observing the elections in America for many years, and the comments of friends and family, people who think that they don't have any choice but to vote for more or less who the MSM tells them are their choices. And most of these people don't follow politics, and don't research independently, and don't pay any attention except to the news, and then read up on the two parties a week or two before the General Election.
Please educate me if I am wrong, other DP members.

Please keep this in mind when you say your beloved pledge of allegiance. In the future, all elections should be caucuses. Transparency is key. The Founders really knew what they were doing.

Steve Mitsler, have you not misused the term "presumptive GOP nominee"? I thought it only applies to the candidate who has ACHIEVED he needed number of delegates PRIOR to the National Convention. Romney has NOT achieved the needed number of delegates PRIOR to the National Convention, thus there is NO PRESUMPTION at this point in time. So, yes you can write, "Romney looks like he MAY BECOME the presumptive GOP nominee" if a mathematical miracle happens between now and the National Convention, but he is still 450 delegate votes away from BECOMING the presumptive GOP nominee. Only at the national convention does one actually become "the GOP nominee." Thus, Romney is ahead, PERHAPS, but he is certainly NOT the Presumptive Nominee at this moment in time. Finally, those delegates that Santorum and Gingrich won, could indeed be all for Ron Paul at this time. Further, the undeclared delegates could also be for Ron Paul at this time. If that was true, then Ron Paul would be in the lead at this moment in time. Is that not a possibility? After-all, most of those Santorum delegates like Ron Paul and teamed up with Ron Paul delegates at the Colorado convention. In the South, many Gingrich delegates have expressed a big love for Ron Paul and no desire to support a moderately liberal Republican. This race, I submit to you, is FAR from over. Why its just begun.

Although hes been my President for a long time sinnce my gpatold me about him, I firmpy believe that "Presumptive President Elect" is a title we should all be using from here on out. We should take notes from romneycentreal and themods from this site need to adjust so that everytime rp is mentioned the *Presumpive President Elect" ought to follow.
