South Carolina State Delegate Selection May 19th.

We will be selecting our State delegates here in South Carolina May 19th. We have 25 delegates to offer. 23 are bound to Newt Gingrich while only 2 are bound to Mitt Romney. If Newt Gingrich receives less than 30% of the vote on the first ballot, his delegates will become unbound. I am sure Newt will not receive 30% and there is the ever increasing possibility of a brokered convention.

My question is: Do we have supporters in position to become delegates in South Carolina? I havent heard anything??

Please, any information would be helpful.

Thank you.

SC delegate

From what I can read it is too late to be on the list of names that will be voted on for the national convention, but I can not tell if it is still possible to register to vote on the 19th.

Does anyone know?

I have sent an email to the contact on the ronpaul2012 website.

In Charleston too,

what can I do to help. I'd like to become a delegate but from what I'm reading here it looks complicated to say the least. If someone from the RP campaign needs me I'm available.

Last Chance Today

"In accordance with Party rules, the State Convention will elect its quota of delegates and alternates to the 2012 Republican National Convention. South Carolina has been allocated 11 delegates-at-large and 11 alternates-at-large to the National Convention, which will be held August 27-August 30, 2012 in Tampa, Florida. Only those individuals who register online or return the printed form to the South Carolina Republican Party Headquarters postmarked by May 11, 2012 will be included on the ballot."

So much for SC predicting who

So much for SC predicting who will win, unless they mean delegates and we get most of those.

To climb the mountain, you must believe you can.

South Carolina has always

South Carolina has always predicted the winner! Let's take South Carolina and keep the tradition alive.

Please contact the campaign!!!

I am not from SC, but there is an RP campaign state director. I just found this info on ronpaul2012.com. Click SC on the map on the bottom of the home screen. I am sure there has got to be an RP state campaign website as well. Google it, send the campaign an email, and volunteer to do whatever is necessary to guarantee we win as many delegates as possible!

You can still become

You can still become delegates, but you must HURRY!

I still do not understand

If there are 11 at large and 2 from each district, have the district delegates already been chosen and we will be competing for the at latge positions on the 19th?

Thank you.

I am with you. I am reading

I am with you. I am reading through the rules from the state and the convention. Everything seems to contradict itself. What I know is that the state is claiming they get to pick 11 national delegates out of this convention.

"In accordance with State Party rules, the re-convened State Convention will elect its quota of delegates and alternates to the 2012 Republican National Convention. South Carolina has been allocated 11 Delegates-at-large and 11 Alternates-at-large to the National Convention, which will be held August 27-August 30, 2012 in Tampa, Florida."

And that anyone who fills out this form and pays $20 can apparently get on the ballot to be one of those 11 national delegates.

"In order to prepare a ballot and facilitate the election of the national delegates and alternates, a form has been included for individuals who desire to be on the ballot. Only those individuals who return the form to the South Carolina Republican Party Headquarters postmarked by May 11, 2012 will be included on the ballot."

And Again.

"Only those individuals who register online or return the printed form to the South Carolina Republican Party Headquarters postmarked by May 11, 2012 will be included on the ballot."

So it seems we can still win 11 out of 25 of the national delegates to Tampa. Can someone confirm?

Confirmation?????

I am Distrcit 1 in Charleston.

I am no delegate but I tried to get the list of delegates from alex@scgop.com and never got anything back. I wanted to look ppl up and create some organization. I wanted to do something, but I can't. I am curious myself of what's going on. I heard we took district 6 2/2 from the dailypaul.

Thank you

I am trying to understand how we do things here in SC. I know that each each congressional district is assigned 2 National Convention delegates.

What I want to know is: are we going to the Convention on the 19th to battle it out to select the Final 25 delegates or are they alrady decided on. Two from each district already cosen to go to the convention on the 19th and do what? Congratulate eachother or are we going to fight it out like Maine and Navada?

Thank you.

I am sorry, but

I am sad to say I am clueless about my own home state. I am looking for answers myself.

Same here

I became SUPER involved only after I me Ron Paul personaly and then voted for him in our Primarie here in SC. But at the time I knew nothing about becoming a delegate. I still have no idea when my district even selected delegates. I could have at least attended as a guest!

Crazy-Uncle Ron, we ought to
