Press Release: from Sen. Wyden (Oregon) regarding possible national security threat from Japanese nuclear fiasco

In reading a post here on the DP regarding the serious potential problems regarding the nuclear situation in Japan, I saw that Senator Wyden called this a possible national security problem and I decided to call his office to verify that he, in fact, said this. He evidently did, and on his website he has a press release from mid-April regarding this. Here it is. I think that our senators and representatives really need to not only be apprised of this, but we need straight answers to this situation. How and why questions are relevant to this situation. I think posting their replies on the DP would be one way of allowing this issue to get the attention it deserves and accurate answers that we ALL need. Please send press release to your representatives.

Here is an excerpt from this report:

"Wyden found that the facilities designed to house spent nuclear fuel and the reactors themselves were still in a state of disrepair and located in areas that would make them susceptible to further damage from future seismic events. The reactor buildings still contain large amounts of spent fuel – making them a huge safety risk and the only protection from a future tsunami, Wyden observed, is a small, makeshift sea wall erected out of bags of rock.

how is this art?

please move it into another forum.

"You underestimate the character of man." | "So be off now, and set about it." | Up for a game?

Could be a Freudian slip.

After all Wyden is a major BS artist, as well as being a communist.

Sorry, it was an accidental pushing of the

wrong button!
