Santorum is Endorsing Romney

Just got the email as a (former) supporter: Excerpt: "Above all else, we both agree that President Obama must be defeated. The task will not be easy. It will require all hands on deck if our nominee is to be victorious. Governor Romney will be that nominee and he has my endorsement and support to win this the most critical election of our lifetime."

Guess I'm fully on board over here now.

Hopefully, reasoning Santorum supporters will question

how their leader could take such a strong stand against Romney for months and then with just token hesitation, give him his full support. Ron Paul supporters never experience that kind of betrayal. I hope more Santorum supporters are like Merry Mom and choose to now endorse a man of conviction and true moral character.

Now it's about the Constitution and the fight to defend it.

Yes, they should question and some are

I have mentioned to my Santorum cohorts that I am supporting Ron Paul over Romney. The reaction is mixed. Some agree that Paul is our best chance. Some followed Rick to Romney. And some are still confused and hurt. I think people should hear Ron Paul in his own words before they make up their minds based on a one-dimensional caricature they may have been exposed to.

Pro-Life or Pro-Choice

This is an issue which we have dealt with before, and I think this is why some of Santorum's supporters didn't want to support Dr. Paul. In the minds of some conservatives Dr. Paul is Pro-Choice, they believe that and no one of them took time to research that, even when the Dr. said himself that he is Pro-Life: http://youtu.be/x3BE2jMQS8Q

What people does not understand is, the Federal Government is not meant to deal with these issues, so they are a States issues which the Federal Government should not be involved in, this is where the Dr. stands, with the constitution.

THE WORST ... THE WORST ....

"The WORST republican to choose ..."

Remember that quote from Santorum? He said it over, and over again.

What does that tell us about Santorum's judgement? He's just another filthy politician who only cares about his own interests.

For what reason would Santorum Flip-Flop so hugely? What reason could their possibly be for this type of political deceit?

What has Santorum been promised?

Look at the timing of all of this, right after Nevada and Maine, Santorum makes the GIGANTIC flip-flop.

How can anybody believe anything this man has said ... how can he be believed, how can he be credible?

IMAGINE the soundbyte video clips ...

"THE WORST republican to choose ...", "I support Romney ..."

What kind of American would trust a Christian evangelical who attacks the merits of the conservative stance of a presidential candidate with damning language and then turns around to support the same candidate.

Santorum and Romney need SUCKERS, and that is all.

Right, if Romney was the

Right, if Romney was the worst Republican to run against Obama, then Ron Paul must have ranked somewhere better than the worst in Santorum's mind. So why would Santorum time this in such a way to attempt to help Mitt get 1144 delegates and stop Ron Paul? I hope it will backfire and send primary voters to the only remaining non-Romney candidate.

Santorum supports ...

Santorum is simply supporting THE ESTABLISHMENT.

Santorum is supporting the status quo, the U.S. industrial military comlplex.

Santorum is supporting the foreign banking cartel that owns the federal reserve printing press.

Santorum is supporting corrupt wall street bankers and ponzi scheme makers.

That patriot act, CISPA, FEMA, all of it, that's what Santorum is supporting.

Santorum is not supporting Romney per/say, he's supporting the status quo.

Establishment

Yes, I honestly thought Santorum had changed from his break from the Senate. I believed him when he said he was running to save America, not to be the most powerful man in America. Apparently I was wrong. How could he have said all of those things about Romney and then honestly believe that Romney could beat Obama or that it was a good idea to endorse this Big Government Statist before he was actually the nominee? Rick even said once that he would vote for Ron Paul over Obama, so why would he go along with this plan to stop Ron Paul?

Sell Out!!!

Santorum is a big hypocritical sell out!!!! If he was a real conservative , then he would never be able to utter the words "I endorse Mitt Romney". This Obama lynch mob with the "anyone but Obama" attitude makes me sick. These are the same people who put George W. Bush in office for 8 years ,and now they wanna cry...well boo mother freakin whoooo

Santorum is not selling out, these are his true colours.

If this was 1776, he would be the man endorsing King Charles.

In his own words:

our obama

is better than their obama.

good grief.

"Anyone but Obama"

is going to come in real handy in November....shhhhh.

Oh and a big welcome to Marry Mom.

Santorum said he would vote for Ron Paul over Obama

When they were criticizing him for saying Romney was the worst Republican to run against Obama, Rick went through the list and said he would vote for Romney over Obama, Gingrich over Obama, and Ron Paul over Obama. He also said he would support the nominee. Why he is supporting the non-nominee is still somewhat of a mystery to me.

No Mystery!

He is of his father the devil....he is a liar!

Actually, I have a different take on Sen. Santorum...

... I think that he is a good man with a somewhat distorted sense of loyalty:

Some time, Rock, when the team is up against it, when things are wrong and the breaks are beating the boys, ask them to go in there with all they've got and win just one for the Gipper.

Merry Mom, 113 posts and 73 upvotes is very impressive...

... for the first night of your first thread! I would say you are off to a great start!

Just what I need--another addictive social site.

Well, shoot, my plan to abandon politics again may not succeed. Still, I will be in the garden again as soon as it stops raining here.

Maybe Merry Mom is delegate material? ;-)

Think about throwing ur hat in the ring! :-)

Now it's about the Constitution and the fight to defend it.

Delegate

I have the affadavit loading in another browser.

Great idea! We could get you a podium speech in Tampa...

... where you would talk about how you are a former Santorum supporter who came over to Dr. Paul!

Tampa

I guess to get on the ballot I have to turn this affadavit in by the 15th. Then I could be on the August 7 ballot here in Michigan. Getting to Tampa would be difficult for me, but I guess I can cross that bridge if I come to it.

I do not live in Michigan, Merry Mom...

... but, according to Green Papers, the State Convention on May 18-19 is where National Convention delegates will be chosen:

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/MI-R

Could it be that the August 07 vote you are referring to has to do with becoming a precinct delegate for 2014 or 2016? Also, it might still be possible to get added on as an alternate to the State Convention (in many areas, spots were left unfilled at the recent County Conventions); you could ask your local GOP leadership.

On another topic, I posted a response for you here:

Thanks.

Delegate for 2012-2014 Cycle

OK, I found out you are right. This would be for the 2012-2014 cycle. I am happy about this, because it would be difficult for me to travel this year. I was leaning against turning in the paperwork if it meant committing for this year, but now I will do it. This all came through something called Campaign for Liberty.

Michigan Delegates

This is where I got the info about getting on the August 7 ballot: http://www.michigan.gov/documents/sos/Filing_Req_For_Precinc... It does say it is for 2012. I got that link from another lady who just filed her paperwork in my county. I will have to look into that link you gave me and see if I am missing something. I can also ask our GOP county group and see what I can find out.

I guess the check just cleared.

.

hahaha...

+1 for making me LOL in a library!! ;)

Paulians, Libertarians, Paleos, Independents, Anarchos, etc, etc

There is a vast network of people under slightly varying but overlapping umbrellas. The shades of political leanings, i.e. umbrellas, are too numerous to count. It's not one big tent. We get to keep our individual preferences, and we can separate and come back together as needed. We've been learning how to do this, because as the problems of this country get more difficult, we realize that a huge number of people will NEVER GET IT. Thus it is up to us, to be the tireless, irate minority.

If we fail in those efforts, then the fall back plan is to help each other, in times of great need. The variety of scenarios that can fall under that category are numerous and unpleasant, but we need to be able to recognize each other, thus being familiar with the language and principles of paulians, libertarians, paleos, anarchos, etc ...is important.

We want Paul to win. But the win is secondary to getting enough people to actually wake up and come to their senses. As the tireless irate minority needs to exceed some unknown threshold of size in order to keep the country from flying apart.

People of all walks are in fact doing so.

We have a persistent and vocal minority within the political machine, and we also have a persistent and vocal minority within the military. They will stand by our loose knit assemblage.

A president can't heal what ails this country.
The people must heal their ills.
When they prevail, what ails the highest office,
will then too, be healed.

Great post

Please don't call me a Paulian though. I don't like the media's labels. If you want a short word to describe Ron Paul supporters, then it's Patriots - we support the founding principles.

The Ron Paul Revolution is composed of Ron Paul Patriots.
