The Real Ted Cruz

From: www.wetexans.com

Probably few are aware that Ted Cruz’s wife Heidi is a vice president for Goldman Sachs. Would they be more disturbed to know about her work on the independent task force that wrote “Building a North American Community” which was sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations. Her bio in that report says, “HEIDI S. CRUZ is an energy investment banker with Merrill Lynch in Houston, Texas. She served in the Bush White House under Dr. Condoleezza Rice as the Economic Director for the Western Hemisphere at the National Security Council, as the Director of the Latin America Office at the U.S. Treasury Department, and as Special Assistant to Ambassador Robert B. Zoellick, U.S. Trade Representative. Prior to government service, Ms. Cruz was an investment banker with J.P. Morgan in New York City.”

I found a copy of the task force report here: http://www.cfr.org/canada/building-north-american-community/.... You can click on the link for the English pdf version for a free copy of the report if you’re interested. In any case, a man married to a Wall Street investment banker with ties to the Bush administration and the CFR is not the vision that comes to mind when you see Ted Cruz and yet that is who he is.

May be that is an excellent case

to believe Ron Paul rather than Alex Jones & co.

While Alex Jones puts 5-6 mega banks as the root of all evil and others see only Rothschilds under their bed, Ron Paul always told us that the FED and banks are only facilitators of the big government and people are responsible for the situation we are in.

Therefore, Cruz's connection to CFR, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Condie Rice may prove that Ron Paul was right and others wrong.

This is an old thread

maybe cruz was the lesser- again.
I guess this information is easy to find out about since we have google, which I will do but unitl then- I have not heard this and
I looked very deeply into T Cruz and somewhat his past and have NEVER heard this before- so I am very skeptical especially with the liberal trolls that are out in force.
I do not believe Ron Paul would have endorsed a "goldman" candidate and if he did it was only because HE KNOWS Dewhurst was a definite threat to our existence, otherwise he would not have endorsed.and Rand Paul endorsed Cruz also. and so did palin. and marc levin, and michael berry. he has all the local tea party support and our local tea [party endorsed a dem for sheriff of Dr. pauls district.
anyway, point is,
Ron Paul will only endorse a clean candidate and he knows and has been around enough to know who is dirty and who is not.
I will go with RPs endorsement, this time and trust him even though he tells us never to trust gvt!lol
besides
Goldman is a HUGE organization and puts out tens of thousands of bankers on the street every year. Gldman schools them as aprentices on wall street. Millions by now have come out of goldman sachs. anyone who is anyone has had some attachmnent to goldman at one time r another- hey have become like the fed. so is everyone of those sheep who have been involved with goldman evil? maybe, maybe not who knows?
Ted has been in politics in Texas for a long time. So has Ron.
I will give Ted the benefit of the doubt until I read or hear otherwise.

Now I am off to dispute you and find proof.
toodles.

update. found out she was invlved with cfr and goldman.
also found out t cruz was overheard calling the cfr "a den of vipers."
The internet will spread this and we shall see.
I know there is a lot of corruption.
Ted may have slid under the radar but I dont think he will get by the Texans who are about to put him in there but we shall see.

Just think if you had to vote in Ohio.....

Love him or hate Ted, at least hes not Sherrod Brown...

In Bed With Goldman Sachs?

Does this mean that Ted Cruz is in bed with Goldman Sachs?

Definitely voting Libertarian for Texas Senate. Too bad Addison couldn't have gained more traction.

Jefferson's picture

I don't know

all the details of this, but Cruz supposedly represented this guy in a civil case.

The developer, Robert Mericle, pleaded guilty in 2009 to felony charges stemming from what prosecutors said were illegal kickbacks paid to two state judges who sent juveniles into his private detention facilities. Mericle became a star witness for prosecutors and is still awaiting sentencing, according to news reports.

Cruz, a highly paid appellate lawyer, did not represent Mericle in any criminal matter. He represented the developer in an appeal of his lawsuit against Travelers Insurance Co., which refused to pay out any money to help settle scores of civil claims arising from the scandal.

“It was civil litigation over breach of contract,” Cruz told The Texas Tribune on Thursday.

Dewhearst is an "ex" CIA spook.

Like Obamney, it's seems like asking if you want a punch in the nose or a kick in the groin. I'm not voting for either. Hell, I don't even know if my vote is counted anymore. (or even ever was in the first place)
Some meetup members here think they can "educate Cruz on liberty matters and hold his feet to the fire" if he gets elected. Hope they're right. I'm not going to try and convince my circle of friends and family to vote for the guy.

No liberty candidate?

I've had doubts about Ted Cruz since I saw that he & his wife are listed as founders of MaverickPac - which is co-chaired by Jeb Bush's son, George P., and uses their funds to support such "mavericks" as John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Scott Brown and Mitt Romney.

Ron Paul Endorsed This Guy?

"co-chaired by Jeb Bush's son, George P., and uses their funds to support such "mavericks" as John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Scott Brown and Mitt Romney."

Geez, seems like an obvious example of someone to NOT support

Ron Paul said his support of

Ron Paul said his support of Cruz was conditional and only because Cruz promised to support the Constitution. Cruz later stated that Ron Paul supported him, but that he did not support Ron Paul! Cruz is a snake attempting to "get in" with the liberty crowd, do not let him out of your sight!

Given that the Repupblican

Given that the Repupblican candidate will likely win, it's a matter of Dewhurst vs. Cruz at this point in time -- the runoff election. I may vote for the Libertarian restaurant owner from Dallas in the general election, but for now I am sounding the alarm about Cruz. Dewhurst, while ordinary, is far better than a wolf in sheep's skin like Cruz is.

The Balance of Powers must include economic powers.

It's a runoff

Only two advance if nobody gets 50%. There were other candidates to vote for in the first round now it's Cruz or Dewhurst for the GOP nominee.

Sombeody please tell me why....

Ron and Rand have both endorsed this guy???

THIS IS A CRUCIAL QUESTION to get an answer to, and ASAP!

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

says Cruz pledged to restore 4th ammendment & audit FED

Well, the email i got this evening from ron_paul@libertypac says:

"I’ve endorsed Ted Cruz because he has pledged to end warrantless searches, restore the Fourth Amendment, audit the out-of-control Federal Reserve, and fight to finally start cutting the size and scope of our federal government.

We need Ted Cruz in Washington standing with Rand."

Can Ted Cruz be trusted?

valley6, all I've got is a hunch based on nearly 60 years on this rock, and that hunch tells me that Ted Cruz is a liar.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm no great fan of Dewhurst, but he does have a known record in politics that has real accomplishments in limiting the size of Texas government and keeping taxes in check.

The CIA thing is stupid. If I understand it correctly he was in the field as a case worker (gathering information from embassy-like contacts) for a year or so. For the most part he is a fairly typical Texas businessman politician -- a good ol' boy, if you will. I disagree with him on foreign policy / MIL issues, but I don't see a weasel like Cruz with his MSM and Party endorsements being any better. Dewhurst is too old to have stars in his eyes regarding his career, unlike Cruz who looks every bit the ambitious politician. Dewhurst is far more subject to local pressure than Cruz.

Cruz is the quintessential DC climber. Not a word that comes out of his mouth should be trusted -- and that may be the problem with Ron Paul's endorsement right there. After all, Ron Paul trusted Barney Frank on auditing the Fed, who at one time mouthed some agreement with Dr. Paul. I would take Cruz's statements that you quoted with a more than a grain of salt -- there isn't a saltmine big enough, IMO. This is a guy who accepted the good Dr.'s endorsement, even bragged on it, but returned nothing but weasel words.

The Balance of Powers must include economic powers.

i guess ron feels he has no choice but to give him the benefit of the doubt.
just like he did with reagan and reagan bit him.

Probably that the Pauls are too busy

That's a question only they can answer. It may simply be that they are too busy and getting bad advice, or falling for some slick rhetoric. None of us can answer your question with any certainty, so all we can do is look up the original facts (news stories are usually worthless, including "alternate" media like Jones) and read the record for ourselves. Both the Texas legislature and the TOAG actions are available in full text.

It takes some work to NOT be stupid. If you've done some work please share it, as I have.

The Balance of Powers must include economic powers.

Ted Cruz is deceiving Texans

Ted Cruz is deceiving Texans to get the nomination. He has no real track record and has put forth some rhetoric that sounds good, but has nothing to actually demonstrate that he sincerely believes in limited government.

On the contrary, like most of the worst statists in politics, he has been a lawyer for the State Attorney General's Office (his title was Solicitor General), served as the Director of the Office of Policy Planning for the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), was Associate Deputy Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice and Department of Justice Coordinator for the Bush Transition Team, and served as Domestic Policy Advisor to President George W. Bush on the Bush-Cheney 2000 campaign, where he had primary responsibility for all legal policy.

The Texas Tribune reports that as Texas' Solicitor General:

"Cruz persuaded the court [US Supreme Court] not to release Michael Haley, who had been sentenced to 14 years in prison for stealing a calculator from a Wal-Mart even though the maximum was two years under state law. Although Cruz conceded that prosecutors had erred, he argued that freeing Haley would set a precedent that could undermine the convictions of others who were unquestionably guilty.

Some of the justices made clear they found Cruz’s suggestion that Haley return to jail unacceptable.

'Is there some rule that you can't confess error in your state?' Justice Anthony Kennedy asked."

As Director of Policy Planning at the FTC Ted Cruz spent time on such dubious pursuits as "examining legal and regulatory barriers to the entry of new Internet competitors in retailing, auctions, automobile sales, healthcare, pharmaceutical sales, telemedicine, education, contact lens sales, real estate, mortgage lending, financial services, wine sales, casket sales, and online legal practice." -- source

Add to that all the favorable attention he gets from the MSM ("Tea Party Darling" gushes the AP) and the above mentioned roles his wife has with the globalist establishment and his rhetoric begins to look more like "by deception we make war" than "give me liberty".

I'm no great fan of Dewhurst, but the accusation that he torpedoed the TSA bill in the Texas Legislature does not check out. In my research on that issue it became clear that Dewhurst was taking steps to make sure that Texas wouldn't become embroiled in an expensive legal fight with the Holder regime (USAG) by ensuring that the bill would meet a threatened challenge. He consulted with Cruz's old office (Texas AG) and with additional language to that end he passed a bill in the Texas Senate, the House then rejected the amended bill.

The issue will come up again in the near future and should pass the Texas Legislature, and be signed by Perry.

Neither candidates are going to measure up to Ron Paul, however, Dewhurst has a known record which really is pretty good on the basics, low taxes, limited government, and a loyalty to Texas. Cruz does not have a good record, and is far more a critter of the DC establishment.

The Balance of Powers must include economic powers.

Cruz to Loose..

...if I have my way.

Someone ask Debrah Medina..

... who we should vote for... nobody's going to fool her... the only thing I will say is that Cruz endorsed Ron Paul (Addison did not), but they could do that today and change his mind tomorrow... if Gingrich and Santorum can toe the party line so can Cruz and Addison... that's why I hate to vote for any of them...

I think you have it backwards

Cruz never endorsed Ron Paul, Addison DID:

"It’s not pessimistic, brother, because this is the blues. We are blues people. The blues aren’t pessimistic. We’re prisoners of hope but we tell the truth and the truth is dark. That’s different." ~CW

Cruz never endorsed Ron Paul.

Cruz never endorsed Ron Paul.

Lela Pittenger?

I love Debra Medina. I can't bring myself to take her 'Governor 2010' sticker off my car. Stupid KB Hutchison was running interference for Perry the whole time there.

To replace the old hag's Senate seat, I like Lela Pittenger (pronounced "pit injure")... she spoke at my county convention a few weeks ago. Young, Ron Paul Republican, and "the only woman in the race." I will probably vote for her. I think she is very real, and she's been campaigning for this race for like... 2 years?

Cruz was always slimy to me. I'm ashamed of Paul for endorsing him.

^Now look at that, Rand Paul right next to George P Bush!. Bah!

Here is the full list of US Senate candidates:
- Glenn Addison
- Joe Agris
- Curt Cleaver
- Ted Cruz
- David Dewhurst
- Ben Gambini
- Craig James
- Tom Leppert
- Lela Pittenger

Good Points

Addison should endorse Ron Paul.

someone else here mentioned not so flattering things

about Cruz, when the rally announcement came out last week; supposedly there's a REAL grassroots candidate running that TX R3VOL support.

Dr. Paul is too much of a gentleman so I merely take his suggestion that Rand needs backup... someone like Cruz as mere courtesy. That was not an endorsement, but the papers are spinning it that way, and how Ted didn't return the favor:

http://www.texastribune.org/texas-politics/2012-congressiona...

but if the Doc DID endorse him, and Cruz indeed didn't return the favor, then Ted's a real prick. Think by then, it should be clear that we shouldn't have anything to do with Cruz. If he thinks he's gonna get R3VOL support that way, he's sorely mistaken.

Seems like local R3VOL have a good handle on who he really is, as they're suspicious of him. And frankly, we'll vote whomever we think is right, regardless of what Dr. Paul suggests, despite how much we love and respect him, and of course he's always known that. So don't know what Rand's thinking on this one... we'll have to see.

What was obvious was how the TeaPartyExpress 'doth protest try too much' as in the whole dancing girls and tacky MC and etc, how drastic a contrast is that, from our typical rallies?

Like we don't NEED dancing girls on stage to 'hook us in' to believe in something we didn't already believe in.

Of course, we've had dancing at rallies, but ours was organic along with the dancers themselves, just like every other facet of our movement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKdlC6Ntijs

Glen Addison is the guy

He will get my vote. Cruz is a crook.

Addison is my guy for sure.

Addison is my guy for sure. He is authentic.

I was at the first tea party March in Los Angeles

You, Me, We - ARE the Tea Party...not these posers, these Neo-Conned infil-TRAITORS who now claim OUR movement as their own.

Is that all you got??

I'm really not into judging candidates by their spouses. I'm probably going to vote for Glenn Addison for this U.S. Senate seat outta Texas, but Mrs Cruz won't influence things for me.

Just gettin' started...

...only had to dig a minute or two for that. There is a web page The Real Ted Cruz that has a bunch more $hit on the fake Tea Bagger Cruz.
