Some in Maine urge keeping Charlie Webster: Probably wise, despite how weird that sounds.

I heard it with my own ears at this past weekend's state convention, even AFTER it was known we had taken control of the Maine State Republican Committee (which hires/fires the State party Chairman.)

Not sure what is going on with that, but the stated reasons were that "he is a good organizer, and a good fundraiser" and also that, "we need him to keep the current GOP legislators, etc., active within the party structure."

While there is certainly some truth to some of that, Charlie was responsible for the disastrous organization of both the Maine Caucuses and the State Convention. His fundraising ability comes from his close ties to the Olympia Snowe machine and the crony capitalists who suck at the government teat in Augusta.

The second half of the reasoning, regarding keeping current legislators involved with us is an interesting point. I am sure many of them would walk if we pushed freedom/liberty positions to fast and too hard. That was already proven when the Maine GOP House Speaker Bob Nutting sent out a memo Saturday night (after it was apparent we'd taken over the convention) telling all the RINO candidates for the Maine House and Senate NOT TO SHOW UP AT THE CONVENTION ON SUNDAY. (There are only a handful of liberty candidates at present.)

Victories can be perilous and messy, but we probably be ought to at least have avenues for discussions of such sticky issues. DP is here for that, thank goodness!

Turncoat

He sees the wolves circling and being a good accommodating sheep is all he has left to save his a** but watch it just like Romney he is a liberal neo-con turncoat. He is just trying to survive the Ron Paul wave to fight another day because he knows like in 2008 many will come but many will go once the dust settles. It would be best if we maneuvered to either remove him or keep him close for now and begin work to quarantine his influence.

May sound weird, but I agree with this....

...from Eric Brakey, our only paid staff member still in Maine:
--------------------------

The elections for Party leadership, including the Chair, takes place in December. It is my intention to see an advocate for the Liberty Movement in that Chairman's seat come December.

Right now, however, there is talk of ousting Charlie here and now. I believe that would be a mistake.

We are six months away from a major election for the State of Maine. There is a possibility the Maine Republican Party does not retain the legislature. If that happens, do we want one of our people standing there holding the bag? Or do we want Charlie Webster holding the bag?

The state elections are in November.
The party elections are in December.

Let's elect a Liberty Leader in December so that he or she can have a clean slate to work from.

Bad Idea

He has shown he will lie cheat and or steal for NWO Globalist CHicken Hawk warmonger universal health insurance RUmmy. HOw could you think this guy will help to not be disruptive. Cheaters are not alowed to play nor are bullies nor liars. He fits the bill for all the above. If you rethink that you may see my point.. Best to get him out the sooner the better for everyone.

sovereign

He made his crooked bed and we waled his crooked mile...

time to send him packing now. First, Steve, Charlie gave the State of Maine a terrible reputation and just maybe it did some good to serve as a wake-up call to those repubicans who never realized how bad of an organization they were identified with.

Cheating, throwing away votes, lying, deceptions...you want more?

No, just as the Citizens of America ought to demand that Obama get the hell out of the White House Mainers ought ot demand that Webster and his cohorts who worked so hard to defame the voters of Maine during the most important elections in Maine's history, MUST LEAVE and go ahead and let the door kick them in their asses on the way out....and this goes for the 2 turn coats US Senators who really screwed America with their nod of love for Obaam on the NDAA.

This is new...

...within the past two hours.

We may not have the votes anyway.

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

Well....

Now some are saying we may only have 35 seats on the 80-seat Maine State Republican Committee. If true, that would render any effort to oust Webster moot anyway...

Looking for final results...

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

Y..there needs to be a 2/3

Y..there needs to be a 2/3 majority. There would have to be a lot of speeches. Just because people are not RP supporters, does not mean they like Webster..

It would be interesting to know

how we can get 6 more seats!

Sounds like

the paid staff needs to be replaced as well. Believe me, whenever a new regime is put in place, it's better to start with a clean slate. Otherwise they will drag you down, because they are still used to the old ways.

Finish them off...

you leave a seed and it will grow again..grab all the power while you can.... These bugs need squashed!....

This sounds like keeping him is already, probably,...

...a done deal. Sounds like he is feeling pretty secure about his future, and using that forked-tongue to great advantage:

I'd advise against it. He's too corrupt to trust.

However I trust the Ron Paul people in Maine. Be careful though. That's like sticking your finger in the mouth of a pirahna.

Sever the good old boy connections

It is time,They need to be shaken up,they are already running scared, we need to keep pushing!

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

DON'T!!!

No! Don't get caught - don't be fools! I hear the force and attractiveness in the message. But DON'T listen! Much better to change the paid staff if you have to. In politics the power, problems and corruption most often lies not so much in the elected representatives but in the bureaucracy that runs them. Don't listen to the paid staff's weasel Webster words. DON'T! DON'T!! DON'T!!! Weasel Webster - and all who think and work like him - must be pushed out before the GOP can regain it's fairness and freedom roots.

Time to clean house! Only people who have proven

that they are true conservatives should be allowed to hold positions. The new blood will be tapping into a whole new set of sponsors. That is exactly what is needed.

~Your perception becomes your reality~

Cleaning house, of course,

Cleaning house, of course, also means removing the traitor Ryan Harmon from office.

AMEN TO THAT!

Unfortunately, none of those were recognized and supported by the paid staff for years ago, and only relatively few this time around.

It's progress, but...

"Truth is an absolute defense to the charge of paranoia."

cut their heads off. Do not

cut their heads off. Do not let them keep their positions.

Honestly, it is not just about Charlie Webster...the whole GOP

in Maine is as the crooked man who walked a crooked mile. We have two US Senators who assisted to throw the entire Country under the bus when they voted for and passed the anti Liberty bill...NDAA.

Then you have Maine State Senators who are pulling for Mitt Romney. That in itself oought to tell you what kind of state Maine is politically, that is until this State Convention...one can only hope and pray that the Liberty demanding Mainers get in power and remake the entire Maine government which is so darn corrupt...look at how they steal children at the DHHS...they just walk into a home and take a baby who is nursing from its mother...the baby is only about less than a week old.

Maine's slogan is: "The way life ought to be..." Yeah....only when Ron Paul takes over with his legions of supporters.

He is as corrupt as they

He is as corrupt as they come. He belongs in prison.

I know you dont want to believe it

BUT SOMEONE CUT A DEAL BECAUSE THEY WANT A JOB

It's politics and it's dirty. What did you think this was, a teaparty?

allways some scummy hangers on

Who will say and do anything for a Fiat false debt issued dollar. Sickening to me but anyway the new chairman hopfully will fire every one of those leaching traitors.

They love ole 'honest charlie', as they call him

He has the morals and integrity that represent the Maine GOP establishment. They are proud to have him in their gang.

Ohhh and I'd be pretty leary

of the person that suggested that moronic "idea".

There was a story in Florida about a guy who had

raised a python from birth too.. He awoke to the python at knee level one morning, they had to cut the snake from his leg.

I'm betting keeping Charlie will go down as a very costly decision too.

Kind of unrelated

Sorry that this is unrelated to the topic but WHY is there a "who should Romney choose for VP" ad on this site? It should be "who should be Ron Paul's VP. Judge Napolitano or Ben Swann? My vote is for the judge.

seems like a bad idea

to leave a fox in the new hen-house.

can't think of a way it would turn out good.

Not my State to say but,

He has in effect, committed CRIMES against the PEOPLE of MAINE. Keeping your enemies close is therefore immoral and unethical.

It is not our duty to change the “Message of liberty” it is our duty to change the “Minds of People”.

Throw the criminal out … ALL THE WAY OUT!

The idea is to "use him" for our purposes....

But he has always been Olympia's boy toy, and she reports to Bill Cohen--the high-ranking Trilateralist.

I think we would probably do far more harm than good trying to play with this poison, personally.
