Police "assist" in Asheville NC sign wave!

While highway blogging at our weekly location in Asheville NC yesterday, we were asked to leave by the local police. Police stated that we were causing traffic to back up on the highway below us. This was not true as traffic continued to flow at a normal pace.

They threatened to arrest us if we did not comply, but we stood our ground.....Ron Paul 2012!

Here's a link to some of the photos:

I was nailing up a Ron Paul pole sign on a telephone pole

on Saturday, and just as I finished, a policeman came by. He told me to take it down and said that it wasn't allowed. I'm pretty sure it was allowed, though, cause people put stuff up on that telephone pole all the time. He probably just didn't like Ron Paul.

Actually, that is "against the rules" but

a little civil "disobedience" isn't frowned upon around these parts. :)

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution, inevitable.

I always find it odd when they use that kind of "reasoning"

to get protestors to leave.. Besides the obvious Constitutional breeches they've made, the silliness of their argument stands out.

I mean hell, they wouldn't charge a crash victim with causing traffic to back up because people slowed to see what was going on, would they?

I'm not responsible for people driving, if they slow down to look, that's on them.

Not to mention...

Not to mention that the whole discussion probably took place below several billboards with the distinct purpose of distracting drivers.

NOTE: I am not advocating violence in any way. The content of the post is for intellectual, theoretical, and philosophical discussion. FEDS, please don't come to my house.

Spot on.

You made an excellent point.

You made an excellent point. That's the exact same principal. Why in the world the police are wasting their time with something like this is beyond me.

Two shorten the road.

As public tax feeders they have no incentive

to be efficient, nor to please the public.

Nice!

And thank you! It all helps!

Are the cops

told to come down on RP supporters or are these incidents just coincidence?

Maybe the cops need to stop watching the MSM...

Good job!

Nice photos. What happened with the police. Interestingly, I did sign waves from the Montford St. overpass in 2008 and never had a problem. I live near you, but did not know about the sign waves.

We sign wave on the Flint St

We sign wave on the Flint St bridge downtown, every Wednesday, but yesterday was the exception for today's primary. Cops hung out for about 45 min. they made it look good, we would not leave so they did...
