Ron Paul 2012 CoffeeSubmitted by jeffreylayne on Tue, 05/08/2012 - 12:20
I've had an idea that I think is great, however I don't have the time or resources (and by resources I mean a website) to make it happen, so I figured I'd share it with fellow entrepreneurs out there on the DP.
A good friend of mine, Brian Wynn, is a local coffee roaster in Lynchburg, VA, and he also runs an organization called Grounds to Go (www.groundstogo.org), which is a fundraising tool for Christian missionaries. Basically, when a person purchases a lb. of coffee from the missionary for approximately $12.50, then Grounds to Go donates $5 to that missionary. Essentially, if the missionary can talk their church into simply switching which coffee they drink, then they are simultaneously raising support for their cause.
Anyway... this isn't about GtG, but I wanted to tell you how it worked so that you can get where I'm going with it... Basically, I love Dr. Paul, his message, his campaign, and this website, so I thought it would be a good idea to take the Grounds to Go model and apply it to the campaign:
for every lb. of coffee purchased, a certain amount of it is donated to the Paul campaign.
If anyone is interested in doing something like this, please contact me. I know that some of you are already into selling bumber-stickers and such already, so if you'd like to add coffee to the mix, just give me a shout.
Also, please let me know if you think it's a good/bad idea anyway. And please let me know if you have any other ideas concerning it. Thanks!
