Washington State! It Looks Like We Need Help!

From Nola.com

"Delegates that go to the state convention are not pledged to any candidate but were mostly chosen at local conventions based on their support for a given candidate. Wilbur estimates that a little more than half back Romney, one-quarter back Paul and another 20 percent backed Santorum."

One-quarter? What needs to be done here? We need those delegate lists! Santorum delegates are up for grabs. Lets make some calls!

Hey all (1st time poster, regular stalker)

Hey all. It also looks like they created a new district (10th) and so far it looks like there is no liberty lovin' contender. Ideas on one?

I've been stalking the pages...

I've been stalking the pages for a few years. Was active duty Army and a single parent so my activities were limited. Now I'm a reservist and married, but a night shift worker, so my activities are still a little limited.

Thank you for the Welcome.

I will be there as a military

I will be there as a military veteran delegate for Dr. Paul and I will be posting updates on here as often as possible. We will stand our ground.

I'll be right there with ya brother!

...(or sister...how presumptuous of me!) I can't wait to serve them the coldest of all dishes!

I would stand with you!

I would stand with you!

His Rotundness...

...Kirby Wilbur, WA GOP chairman, has got his numbers mixed up. Maybe a little over half are PAUL supporters(though I think it's much more.) Wilbur acted as state convention chairman in '08, and was actually very fair to Paul supporters-or as much as could be expected from such a perennial establishment figure. Of course, he was about as worried about Paul as he was about Barr. We got trampled pretty good in '08 by McInsane here, but still put up a good fight. After the convention Wilbur(once a long-time neocon local Seattle radio 'commentator') was made state chairman. This election cycle Wilbur, the jolly old elf, has stayed true to the establishment narrative, and is underplaying Paul's success at every turn, tossing out there false perceptions and innuendo that Lee Atwater could be proud of. I dare say "fair and objective" Kirby Wilbur will be a new man this time around-willing to do ANYTHING he needs to in order avoid the humiliation of a Paul sweep. We need to be on our toes in Tacoma next month.

Here in King County(Seattle area) we walloped 'em good. County chair Lori Sotelo has been wetting herself everyday since the precinct caucuses. She's lost control and has been an utter failure for the establishment's cause. She's VERY vulnerable. In fact, after this election cycle I was planning on renouncing my membership in the GOP. However, seeing her flailing in these political waters like a released fish with a hook in it's gut, I'm inspired to run against her for King County chair. Her record is abysmal. She can't even find someone to challenge the horrible incumbent congressman here. Yep. McDermott goes unchallenged. When she DOES find someone they get their asses handed to them, getting about 11% of the vote. She doesn't get that social conservatism just does not work here in one of the most liberal counties in the nation. Personal liberty CAN be a winning ticket here. Yet, she still tries forcing that square peg into that round hole. The GOP here, as is with Sotelo, needs a facelift. I'm the surgeon.
Now, As you travel east in WA you get even more support for Paul. Wilbur's hot air is nothing more than him trying to convince the masses that Romney's in control here, and oh by the way the sun revolves around the Earth.
Fret not. Washington GOP decided to save a buck and not have primaries here this cycle. Therefore, we are all unbound delegates. As for my district, of the 16 delegates and 16 alternates selected NOT ONE ROMNEY SUPPORTER was elected. I made friends with an elderly couple supporting Grinch, and when all was said and done, they'd walk over broken glass to vote for me, Die Hard style. Yippeekiiyaayy, mother-----~! Needless to say, I'm pretty confident here in the evergreen state
p.s. Surprised New Orleans press would cover this. Way to go down there. (NOLA's my pre-Katrina home)

Why does being a "social

Why does being a "social conservative" not work with liberty? I would classify Ron Paul as a social conservative. I could describe myself as a social conservative. There are plenty of things I think are socially wrong, but Im not about to throw people in a cage or arrest them if they do it. I think you're mixing up neocon and social conservative with each other?

Let me clarify...

A neocon is a social conservative who wishes to use the force of government to dictate through law their own moral code on the population. Ron Paul is a social conservative that respects the rights of individuals to live as they choose. He uses the power of argument and persuasion in a non-violent manner free from government intervention to promote social conservatism.

So long as the 'drug war' and 'stopping gay marriage' ranks at the top of King County's GOP agenda they will utterly fail here. If they focus on property rights, individual liberty, the free market, less government intrusion and taxation, they have a fighting chance.

Exactly

Even aside from whether policy will be an instrument of pushing a lifestyle, just the embellishment of the social conservative side doesn't fit King County. Santorum can say all he wants, "I don't want to ban contraception", but interpreting the Presidency as a bully pulpit to nag people about whether to use it or not just turns people off and lets the media paint you as a knuckle-dragger way too easy.

Want to be pro-family? Speak softly and carry a big stick. Mitt Romney & Ron Paul have that in common: They both have large, supportive families, which speaks for itself. What is more pro-marriage - thinking during this debt crisis you should campaign for a federal amendment to trample state prerogative on marriage, or simply staying with the same great woman for 55+ years? :)

You have my vote.

We need more RP folks at all levels of government. How can Sotelo look at herself in the mirror? Her behavior at the 37th LD caucus was so embarrassing.

Right?!?

...and would she call it a 'Romney event' and kick everyone out of the building had Romney held a majority? Her motives are as transparent as a cool high mountain stream. Scruples she definitely lacks....

Great post. I hope you are

Great post. I hope you are right and I hope you do run for chair. Are there meetup groups in Wash for RP or any Organization for snagging Frothys delegates?

Scott Shock..

I don't want to put the cart before the horse, but

I believe Wilbur is way off. He should go back to his nauseatingly boring radio show that nobody listened to. I'm from Seattle and Paul kicked Romney's a$$ all over the place in the legislative district caucuses. RP support only gets stronger the further east in Washington you go. Add to that the Santorum folks see Romney for what he is -- an empty suit who stands for practically nothing. They are sick of the status quo too.

RP delegates will come out in droves to Tacoma for the convention! Take that to the bank!

Fight on, Patriot! Still, get

Fight on, Patriot!

Still, get those lists any way you can. Those are unbound delegates Santy has and worth fighting for...

I would hope there was some

I would hope there was some RP organizers with the delegate list calling those Frothy supporters! Anyone but Mitt...

Well, if the West side of the state did as well as it has been

made out to have done from what I've seen on here, I'd believe we'd have the majority. It will be an interesting convention to say the least.

What are you fightin' for?
Caught in the middle?
Freedom is only for those with the guts to defend it!

Kirby Wilbur

I think is right up there with Lori S.. He said we have only a quarter of the delegates for Ron Paul. I don't think so!

betty

Bump for my home state!

And I freakin' miss it! it's hot here in Florida!:)
