If You Believe In Truth And Live Knowing and Living Truth You

are a follower of Christ, even though you may never, ever go to church. Jesus taught a way of life, not Churchy - anity...

Many of my friends don't believe in church or spout the bible backwards and forwards, but they speak and live the truth and are very good and decent people.

They are rebels for the truth and don't back down from what they know is right in their heart..

That is who God is looking for... Believers in the truth!

It makes no difference to God what culture or country you came from or live in, truth is the truth and everyone who loves the truth in their heart belongs to the Lord..

Samaritans Were Outcasts

There was great antagonism between the Jews and Samaritans because Samaritans were considered inferior, half-breeds, a mix of Jew and Gentile. Jesus used a Samaritan of good character in his parable to teach the expert in Mosaic law who was quizzing Him that even Samaritans should be treated as neighbors - with love and mercy.

It seems that just for requesting some consideration I'm being voted down. That says a lot about the tolerance in here for those of faith in Christ.

First paragraph: I'm pretty sure that's what I said.

Second paragraph: Maybe so -- but maybe you should give consideration to the original poster that his intent was not to lampoon your savior.

Never thought he was lampooning

I'm perfectly aware that it's mostly just a thoughtless expression. Nevertheless, Christians consider Jesus of Nazareth to be the Christ (Messiah) - God in human form. There should be no surprise that careless use of His name around those who worship Him might create opportunity for raising awareness of our preference.

Is this all that different from stating a preference that people not smoke around you? Or is it only annoying (a "correction") when Christians voice a preference based on their firmly held beliefs?

I've always found it interesting that it's the name of Jesus Christ that gets abused, but not so with founders of non-Christian religions.

AS A MINISTER,

I would appreciate it very much If you would refrain from using the Saviours name in vain.

Some see things as they are and say why,but i dream things that never were and say why not. Robert F. Kennedy

Do you observe the Sabbath on

Do you observe the Sabbath on Sundays? Just wondering because I've gotta say I wish I could go about my business as usual on Sundays instead of having to change my lifestyle for observing something that isn't even the real Sabbath. I've actually left a church and cannot find fellowship anywhere, because everywhere I go the church is practicing Babylonian religious traditions instead of seeking God.

I'm not saying you personally force this on others, but its a big deal for me, bigger than someone using the name Jesus in conversation I guess. It bothers me when people nitpick things like that but I can't even find a church that seeks God instead of practicing Babylonian religions and traditions.

Its just a little dissapointment coming out I guess

Seventh day....

Adventists go to church on Saturdays. Look one of them up in your area if that's your thing.

I thought Yahweh was the

I thought Yahweh was the Jewish equivalent of Baal.

Yeah Easter and all the

Yeah Easter and all the traditions that come with it are Babylonian too. And Christmas.

I love to hunt. Coyote, small game, deer, whatever. I do it weekly just because its something to do with friends, its like a lifestyle.

Well, we can't go out hunting for certain game on Sundays, which is half the weekend when friends have off work, which means we can't even have an excuse to be out in the woods with guns.... And what really bothers me is that I've spoken to some Christians about it, some of whom don't even hunt, and they said that people shouldn't be able to hunt on Sundays because its the Sabbath! Why??!! I don't get it??

Which is funny, because

Which is funny, because sabbath is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.

Is Jesus now of British

Is Jesus now of British descent and hates apostrophes? I'm pretty sure that's not in the bible.

Jesus is a Lord, so he's

Jesus is a Lord, so he's definitely British.

He wasn´t taking the Lordś name in vain

He was acknowledging Christ as almighty. Christ is a title anyway, more accurately Χριστος. His human name is Jesus, more accurately Ιησους. His divine name is Yahweh. Besides that, as a Christian you are not to take his name in vain. Nowhere in the Bible does it say you are the speech police of any others. Lighten up.

Rocket Surgery

Ιησους(Greek) was originally יהושע(Hebrew).

Hebrews 4 and Acts 7 refer to "Joshua" (Yahusha more accurately), using the same Greek letters, IESOUS. Now think very hard; could the successor of Mosheh and the Mashiach of Israel possibly have the same NAME in the original Hebrew? Scholars don't doubt it for a second that they did indeed. To learn the real name of your Savior, go look at the Hebrew letters for the spelling of "Joshua": yod-hay-uau-shin-ayin (It isn't rocket surgery you know). Both had the Hebrew name: YAHUSHA (spelled twice in the TaNaK as YAHUSHUA). The Greek alphabet cannot transliterate this word, and "Latinizing" the Greek form only makes it freakier. The Name of our Savior contains the Name of our Creator, because He is our Creator, and His Name is His identification (His identity is wrapped-up in His Name.

http://www.fossilizedcustoms.com/transliteration.html

The command in question above literally says not to take(bring, carry) the name of YHUH to vanity(destruction, ruin).

And it was enforced at least once, in Lev 24:10-16.

Science from the Scripture

Repent, for the reign of YaHUaH is near!

I don't know what Bible you read

but the language of the Gospel, the entire New Testament, is Greek. The Gospel is given in Greek, not Hebrew. Granted, Ιησους, is a Hellenized name from the Hebrew Yehoshua. Nevertheless, the name of our saviour is Ιησους as presented to us in the texts. Also, he may have been named Yehoshua and called by his family as Y'shua, the Gospel given to man names Him Ιησους.

And lest we next discuss the number of angels dancing on the head of a pin, I know where you are coming from and what you are saying. I don't disagree with what you say, I'm just presenting another angle.

Here is a website I did a few years back after a couple decades of Hebrew study. In it you will find a Hebrew Dictionary Research tool and parallel Greek/Hebrew OT. www.shiloam.net.

Love God and Love Your Neighbor = Hate Speech?

Really?

Please do show us where Rabbi Jesus taught us to hate.

Please do show us how your false god existed. We've only suffered for the last 2000 years for a pretend crime. Rabbi, HA! You should live so long!

Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple." -Luke Skywalker 14:25

Nicely Taken Out of Context

Scholar you aren't, and apparently lacking in research skills as well.

Plainly - so even you can understand - Jesus was teaching that love for God should be so great that love for father, mother, etc., should look like hatred in comparison.

Since you insist on cursing others who have done you no harm, it is clear that YOU are the one filled with overflowing hatred. Just like many of your ancestors who also didn't accept the Messiah God sent to them:

But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled: ‘They hated me without a cause.' John 15:25 ESV

If you still don't get it, here's one of a thousand commentaries on the Internet that explain it - in context - and with relevant references:
