Swiss Miss? Does Bachmann know something we don't

She is getting the heck out of dodge and moving to Switerland. Don't let to door hit you on the way out. Funny thing is, with the NDAA, that Army field manual, and the creeping police state, I wonder if she knows something we don't... well not officially supposed to know if you get what I mean.

Dual Citizenship is not uncommon

She can still run as long as she's a resident of her district.

Dual citizenship doesn't

Dual citizenship doesn't exist under US law. It's a globalist concept.

If you voluntary take a citizenship of another country, you do and should lose your citzenship here.

"a person who acquires a foreign citizenship by applying for it may lose U.S. citizenship." From the State department.

Her husband lost his citizenship. From the story, it sounds like she applied as well. And there are also laws that apply, and not the natural born requirement.

Beg to differ

Yes, the State department discourages dual citizenship, but one does not lose their US citizenship by becoming a dual citizen. There is NO law supporting your position. I have done the research. My two kids are dual citizens. I know the law. Her husband did not lose his citizenship.

Plus, there is actually nothing in the linked media article...

... suggesting that Rep. Bachmann plans to relocate to Switzerland.

The height of arrogance

I just posted the law from the State department. You are wrong.

Yes, if you voluntary accept citizenship in another country, you lose it here. That is the law. I'm well aware that people have tried to skate around that, my cousins from Canada also try to be dual citizens, but they legally should have lost their citizenship here a long time ago.

Being able to vote in two places is not allowed between different states, but now you propose by your cheating to make it allowable in two countries? Two passports? Pay the lessor of two taxes? Basically, to have more rights than normal citizens of either country.

It's the height of arrogance and the very definition of being a turncoat and a sneak. Your family needs to choose which country they are a citizen of.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

What's up with the personal attack?

We should all keep it civil, and not go after each other's family.

We shouldn't give up on our country so easily

It's not a personal attack. Anyone that is claiming dual citizenship should be flogged. They should have been run out on a rail a long time ago.

If you are a thief, and I say I hate thieves, that is hardly personal. In fact, it's the right thing to say to get rid of thieves.

Brother Andrew, are you claiming dual citizenship, or are you really a fellow countryman? God forbid anymore of this "I have a personal interest in the discussion" but won't mention it dishonest discussions.

Dual citizenship is dishonest. It is arrogant. It attempts to cheat in two different countries, and give an advantage not ethically obtainable. Everyone that has ever become a citizen here has had to give up their citizenship in their old country. That so many people are getting away with it means we haven't been tarring them as much as we should have.

We shouldn't give up on our country so easily.

And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

You decide for you where you

You decide for you where you want to live on planet earth and I'll decide for me.

Just like our ancestors did.

No, I do not claim dual citizenship...

... nor, as far as I am aware, does anyone in my family. I have been a citizen of these United States since birth, so, no, I have no personal interest in this discussion.

The reason I spoke up was because you labeled optimystic and/or his family with the terms "cheating," "arrogance," "turncoat," and "sneak." Perhaps you should re-read your post and concede that you did, indeed, launch a personal attack.

Thanks, Andrew

MaxK is simply incorrect. The Supreme Court of the United States has already ruled that dual citizenship is perfectly legal. My wife is a foreigner and my children are entitled to dual citizenship. It is their heritage.

I think that is how it works

personally

May the LORD bless you and keep you
May the LORD make His face shed light upon you and be gracious unto you
May the LORD lift up His face unto you and give you peace
