WARNING: Romney Campaign Is Paying People To Gather Information About State Delegates

Ron Paul Forums:

According to a MI RP campaign staffer, the campaign:

"...received word that Romney's campaign is paying people to gather information about the state delegates and identify the "troublemakers" (i.e., you and me) so be careful not to share your information or political affiliations with strangers."

Watch for this in other states as well. This is especially important if you are a delegate.

Keep on keeping on,

Hi guys as an enthusiastic Ron Paul supporter and observer from England, just a quick comment to say keep doing what you are doing. It is obvious you guys are having a series effect on the establishment and they are scared big time!!

As for this gathering of information on delegates I am reminded of the saying that you dont owe honesty to anyone who is poking around in your business, so remember that if a strange individual who you dont know rings you up to ask information about you or your voting preferences. :o)

Is this being done through

Is this being done through the GOP of MI? I "have this friend" who is a delegate and he says he got a call from the GOP asking if he would like to participate in short survey. Question one: Who will you be supporting for the presidential primary? "My friend" respond by saying he would rather not tell the caller who said fine and then asked some questions about state elections. I am sure my friends response was enough of a give away. Do you?

URGENT: Do not reply to the short survey!

If you received an email or a call about a survey regarding the MI Republican state convention (scheduled for next week!), simply DO NOT REPLY or provide a false answer. The owner of the company performing the survey has been traced to a staunch Romney supporter and are gathering delegate information through the MI GOP.

From the RP coordinator:
"It is best to submit a spam complaint to surveymonkey.com to take down the poll and freeze the account, since unsolicited polling IS spam."

"For Life, For Liberty, and For Freedom, OUR MOVEMENT IS ONE... And We Will Change The Course of History!!"

I should have known...

aarrgg! I already have replied to the survey. That was the whole point of my comment. I just got an email this morning. That is two days after the call. I should have told them I was a Romulan.

Double Agent?

Heck, the CIA does it all the time... maybe the OTHER campaign is doing it also, maybe not. I bet if WE tried it... now that would make exciting Convention TV.

Are you guys all voting for

Are you guys all voting for Dave Agema at the convention. That is going to be great when the chair gets replaced.

What are they going to do with this information exactly?

Do you think they are going to make a "kill list"? That isn't going to work because we have all of the alternates :P

a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat

somehow shut you out as a

somehow shut you out as a delegate, probably. they have this info, and delegate information isn't due until tomorrow. See how fast they work together, the state gop and romney.

Coast to Coast Strategies's About Us section/Bio

Says they provide "grass stop" services. It looks like they offer astoturf services. They have the technology to weigh an "influencer's" inmpact. Just google it.

Phone, and emails.

The phone number they call from is 517-394-9940.

No surprise - a call back rings at the Saul Anuzis campaign. What a slimey!

Just tell them you are undecided.

We also received emails from republicanopinionsurvey@gmail.com. It was VERY transparent.

Just think, if he pays people

Just think, if he pays people to spy on his enemies now, imagine what he'll do with the full power of the federal government behind him.

So true.

With this in mind

With this in mind, delegates may want to watch what they have on any Facebook pages or other social media.

have to wonder why people feel good with gop fraud

over and over and do nothing about it but remain status quo and then say they are anti-status quo.

Isn't this against the law?

Where is this money coming from? John Edwards is on trial right now for doing something very similiar.

Not illegal

It's a private club. The money would be coming from campaign coffers. John Edwards is not on trial for doing something similar. Edwards is on trial for supposedly using campaign funds to help hide the fact that he was putting a baby inside a woman not named Mrs. John Edwards...

The McCain campaign admitted that they spent between 500k and a 1m trying to ferret out delegates in '08.

Edwards did not use direct

Edwards did not use direct campaign funds to pay the woman off though. He had one of his rich friends keep the woman silent and the prosecution is trying to say that since the payment helped his presidential campaign, he should have disclosed the payment as a campaign contribution.

Just sent this email to

Ben Swann. Maybe he'd like to pick up on this story.

Hi Ben,

I think you may find this interesting.

In 2007, Saul Anuzis, then Michigan GOP chair, wanted to ban Ron Paul from all future debates because of comments he made about US involvement in the ME and blowback.

Fast forward to March this year and Michigan State primaries.
Detroit Free Press reports how MIGOP changes the rules for delegate allocation in order to give Romney the edge over Santorum and the Santorum campaign was not too happy about that dirty trick. And guess who's on the credential committee explaining how there was a big OOOPS and how they made an error in the memo saying the delegates would be distributed proportionally? Saul Anuzis

Although Saul wrote a sweet little post about the 'confusion' http://www.thatssaulfolks.com/2012/03/01/saul-anuziss-statem...
American Spectator still had a satement of their own: Saul Anuzis sounds like a Liar http://spectator.org/blog/2012/03/02/saul-anuzis-sounds-like...

Now we come to 'today's' news.

The RonPaulForums is reporting:
"According to a MI RP campaign staffer, the campaign:

"...received word that Romney's campaign is paying people to gather information about the state delegates and identify the "troublemakers" (i.e., you and me) so be careful not to share your information or political affiliations with strangers."

Watch for this in other states as well. This is especially important if you are a delegate."

There are a lot of goodies in comments, but this is especially delicious:
Just became a state delegate for MI a few days ago. Today I'm getting calls from 517-394-9940 without leaving voicemails. I'm not in a position to be able to answer but doing a quick search the top result for that phone number is hxxp://coasttocoaststrategies.com/case_studies.html

PatriotOne responded to frickettz writing:

"Interesting. This company is owned by Saul Anuzis. We've had dealings with him before I am sure. I can't remember what, but that name is VERY familiar.

Saul Anuzis served as Chairman of the Michigan Republican Party from 2005-2009 and was a candidate for Chairman of the Republican National Committee in 2009 and 2011. His previous political and government service included working with Newt Gingrich at American Solutions, Jack Kemp’s 1988 Presidential campaign, serving as Chief of Staff to Senate Majority Leader Dick Posthumus, Chairman of the MI Senate Republican Campaign Committee and serving on the MI House Republican Campaign Committee.

The RNC created a new standing Committee on Technology and Anuzis was asked to serve as its Chairman by both Chairman Michael Steele and Chairman Reince Priebus. Anuzis was the first non-RNC member to hold such a post. In May of 2010, Anuzis was unanimously elected to be Michigan’s National Committeeman to the Republican National Committee. In 2009 - 2010, he also served as a consultant to the House Policy Committee on New Media & Technology which was chaired by Congressman Thaddeus McCotter (R-MI).

Anuzis is co-founder and co-owner of Quick Connect VOIP, which is a broadband and VOIP provider in Michigan. He and his partner also own Quick Connect USA which is a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier providing local and long distance service to their customers.

Anuzis also serves as a Managing Partner of Coast to Coast Strategies, LLC, which provides strategic planning, consulting and business development services. He sits on the Advisory Board of several technology companies including CampaignGrid, Victory Solutions and RAP Index. He served on several non-profit boards as well as a Gubernatorial Appointee to the Michigan Jobs Commission and the Michigan Export Development Authority and a member of the Teamsters Union."

From my perspective, this is just more cheating from the Romney campaign. Anuzis is an RNC insider who supports Romney and using his Coast to Coast Strategies to find out about Ron Paul delegates. It may interest many people to know the lengths the Romney campaign will go to to cheat their way to the White House.

* * * * *
So maybe he'll do a story or just keep it for future reference.
If I was a Santorum supporter I would be furious with Rick for endorsing the guy who cheating him out of a delegate and I would never NEVER support Rmoney.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.

My evil plan

Go to work for them. Find Romney delegates. Report back to Romney camp these people are actually stealth Paul delegates. Collect your money and donate to Paul campaign.

That's actually a brilliant plan!

LOL! This is why we need more women supporters!

I love it!

Recieving survey phone calls. From Mittens?

I'm not sure but I think my robo-dial phone calls began soon after I attended my SD convention in TX asking me to take a political survey in exchange for a cruise. Wonder if it's Mittens trying to figure out who's who of the state delegates?

Keep looking like a Santorum supporter?

This morning I printed off the identity affadavit to get on the ballot to be elected as a delegate. I have to turn it in by May 15. So I assume that I should maintain my public profile as a Santorum supporter? I did make a blog post supporting Ron Paul, but hardly anyone ever reads that--or I could delete it! I am new to this, so if anyone can help please let me know or send me a message. Thank you!

No advice,

just glad you are on the side of sanity!

Welcome friend.

Just another factoid

as ammunition to EMBARRASS the "presumptive appointed one". Can you imagine how desperate he would sound if this was put on the news? I can't stop laughing!

I recieved a mailing from Tricky Mitt the other day.

It had a spiffy little membership card with it requesting a donation to his campaign. I'm afraid I'm going to have to hold out for at least a decoder ring.

There are no politicians or bankers in foxholes.

mittens mail fun

when i get a letter from the chosen one asking for money,
i send the return envelope back with a rp bumper sticker inside,
makes me laugh every time!

Maybe they'll defect to our side. That's what happens when you look into the things we believe.

Are they looking to create an embarrassing scandal? It means, delegates, if anything unusual happens, think about whether they could be behind it.

On the whole, that's probably a good use for their campaign funds.

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Look out The Romney Campaign is Getting Desperate!!!

Delegates make sure you arrive early to your conventions. Get someone to record the event on Ustream. Find an outlet so your cell phone doesn't die and attach it to a poll as Mark did in Nevada. Record any shenanigans. Don't share any information with anyone even if they appear friendly.

We are winning the battle and they know it. So, beware. Ron Paul is the candidate that people truely support.
