Hannon vs Farage

They're both in the European Parliament. Hannon is in the Conservative Party. Farage is a founder and member of the UK Independence Party. They are also from the same Constituency of South East England.

They agree on many issues, but I think I prefer Farage. Farage is a strong critic of the 'War on Terror' (check out this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDnpqEuiieo ). Farage has also (as founder of UKIP) been a very loud leader in advocating UK's secession from the EU. UKIP is also stronger on immigration reform (of course, not a libertarian position, but an unfortunate fiscal requirement for the welfare state) and opposes the Global Warming agenda. UKIP has been receiving defactors from every party, both members and voters. Farage has been very adament that there is very little significant difference between the other parties (sound familiar?)

The main thing I disagree with Farage about is his opposition to Scottish independence. The Scottish Nationalist Party has been making headway in recent years to secede from the UK, yet the want to stay in the EU. They're strongly socialist, love wind turbines, etc. It seems to me that if Scotland wanted to secede and shoot themselves in the foot, the Scots should be able to choose to do so. In fact, logic should say that Farage would prefer the Scots not influence the vote for England to leave the EU because Scottish influence could prevent a secession from EU. But he wants a United Kingdom.... just not with Europe.
