Ron Paul and Rand Endorse Ted Cruz

Got this email a few minutes ago from LPAC.

Dear Michael,

Anyone who knows me knows I have a real soft spot in my heart for the state of Texas.

So today, I'm very proud to endorse a fellow Texan – United States Senate candidate Ted Cruz!

But with time running out before the May 29 Republican Primary, I'm asking you to join me in supporting Ted by making a generous donation to his campaign.

I was very impressed with Ted when I got to see him in action at a Tea Party rally my son Rand and I spoke at in Texas this past weekend.

Ted is a true statesman and is exactly the kind of person my son Rand needs to help him fight for liberty in the U.S. Senate.

If elected, Ted will be a leader in the fight to restore individual liberty, free markets, and sound money in America.

In fact, Rand, Ted, and I had a lengthy discussion about the dangers of the Federal Reserve printing money out of thin air.

Ted understands monetary policy and is fully committed to passing AUDIT THE FED legislation.

But Ted doesn't just understand the dangers of Ben Bernanke's inflationary policies.

He also understands the importance of protecting our God-given liberties.

In fact, he is strongly opposed to the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens under the recently passed National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), and he will fight to overturn this gross violation of our liberties.

Ted is also an opponent of the TSA, and he will work with Rand in his fight to abolish this out-of-control federal agency.

Like you, he's tired of being treated like a second-class citizen any time he chooses to fly.

He's tired of the abusive pat-downs, the groping of children, and the destruction of our constitutional rights we encounter when trying to travel from one place to another.

And finally, Ted is a firm believer in American sovereignty - and will never support or vote for ceding our rights to the United Nations.

If you agree we need more leaders fighting to restore our rights in the U.S. Senate, please join me in supporting Ted's campaign.

With the May 29 Texas Primary fast approaching, Ted needs your help right away.

So please, help a true Patriot by making the most generous contribution you possibly can afford to Ted Cruz's Senate campaign.

Thank you so much for your support!

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

P.S. I've decided to endorse Ted Cruz for U.S. Senate in Texas, and I'm asking you to join me in supporting him by making a generous donation to his campaign.

If elected, Ted will stand side-by-side with my son Rand in the U.S. Senate to fight against Big Government.

I've been hearing that this Ted Cruz guy is a libertarian Fraud? Whats the deal?

Since 2012

The Establishment has been pushing Cruz. That's a red flag right there.

When Cruz denounces the rush to WWIII, I'll take a second look. For now, just because he's being pushed by the Establishment, I need to get dinner cooked, not look up info on someone who is 99% sure to turn out to be an Establishment hack. Get on that WWIII statement, Ted, and I'll tune in to what you have to say.

Defend Liberty!

there are NeoTard Ninja's in here dragging all this crap TTT and bashing Rand every way they can...

Thank You! So Why Is This Is This Here Now? My Take:

Thank You! So Why Is This Is This Here Now? My Take:

The Republican Party is here SUPPORTING ITSELF and IT'S CANDIDATES under the guise of being "Ron Paul Supporters" because without Ron Paul Supporters they are TOAST.

Yesterday along with the post of Rand speaking at Berkley there were posts of RON PAUL 2012 Massive California Rallies.

Expect to see more attempts to Mix-In Ron Paul with The Republican Party that HATES HIM and his supporters.

As for myself, I support RON PAUL 100% and...

It should be important to ALWAYS remember that THE REPUBLICAN PARTY is The Anti-Ron Paul Party.

Does this mean the stickers on your car stay on?

We must be doing something right, if they're still here playing their desperate, silly games.

Ron Paul Endorses This Piece Of Trash? Tell Me That's Not True.

Ron Paul Endorses This Piece Of Trash? Tell Me That's Not True.

If that is so, then it is time I take off the 6 Ron Paul stickers I STILL have on my car.

I am speechless.

Ron Paul endorsed Newt

Ron Paul endorsed Newt Gingrich, too.

The sheer ignorance of you golden calf worshippers never ceases to astound me.

You mean voted for him for

You mean voted for him for speaker, don't you?

Keep them on :-)

Ron would never intentionally try to harm this movement. He would expect you to do the research on your own.

"Tea Party Mike"

Mike Kelly was the absolute favorite among the strongest so-called conservatives, beating out other Liberty candidates that were running at the time. The Christian Coalition backed him, the local Republican committees backed him, as did the Tea Party, as Mike prided and spoke about restoring the Constitution and returning to Conservative Republican values. Mike touted to everybody that he was a true Tea Party candidate.

Mike won the election. Everybody cheered and applauded.

In 2012, "Tea Party Mike" earned a 70% disapproval rating. Against NDAA indefinite detention, he voted FOR it. Against Patriot Act, he voted FOR it, three times in a row. Against higher debt/taxes, he voted FOR it. Among many other things.

Now that he is in, nobody has stepped up or has the funds to run against him. That means...wait for it...we are stuck with him.

That is the story of "Tea Party Mike", who promised/vowed to restore Constitutional and Conservative Republican values.

maybe you cant run for both senate

and POTUS in Texas, this could be very telling. If Cruz can't run for both, maybe thats why they endorsed him, hmmmmm.

Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must. like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.-Thomas Paine

The R3volution requires action, not observation!!!!

That was Tea Party Mike.

Cruz has been in office all year. In what ways has he disappointed you or fallen short of being worthy of RP's endorsement so far?

Everything is outlined

Why are people ignoring

Why are people ignoring this?

If that's not a green light I don't know what is.

Why so skeptical?

Ron Paul doesn't endorse somebody just to play politics. When Ron Paul does something, or says something, he means it.

Why are we not listening to Ron's approval?

At this very moment, Ted Cruz is making history in the Senate, but some people want to make it seem like Cruz is a Bush crony trying to steal Rand's thunder.

If that was true, then why did Rand speak and participate in this historic filibuster?

When Rand made his STAND against illegal government surveillance, Ted Cruz was by his side, spoke at the historic filibuster and supported Rand Paul.

Rand is returning the favor because these two men know where the GOP is headed and they're like minded.

If Ron Paul didn't endorse Ted Cruz, I wouldn't be here right now.

Ted Cruz is a big reason why Amnesty for Illegal aliens has not moved, "Forward, and the legislation is now lost in the political sauce.

Ted Cruz got the nod of approval from Ron Paul and his son.

What else do you need, the Pope's endorsement?

Never be afraid to ask simple questions.

First of all, Ron Paul is a

First of all, Ron Paul is a fallible man. So I will never blindly follow somebody else.

Second, Ron DOES endorse people to play politics occasionally. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, but it is untrue to say that he doesn't. Ron Paul endorsed Ken Cuccinelli for Virginia Governor if you want a recent example.

And yes, endorsing Ted Cruz was also Ron Paul playing politics. If Ron Paul were to endorse the best libertarian-Republican in the Texas primary field that year, it would have been Glenn Addison by far. Problem is, Addison was not well-funded enough to defeat Ted Cruz or the neocon David Dewhurst. And I know this is true because Tom Woods interviewed Rand Paul about this on the Peter Schiff Show at the time, and Rand said exactly what I just said. Addison had no chance, Cruz was the next best guy, and they couldn't let Dewhurst win. Politics was played.

I don't like Cruz. He's an interventionist who's to the right of Rand Paul, and Rand's foreign policy stance is the furthest I'm willing to compromise. Cruz' wife who came out of Wall Street is a red flag as well.

Don't get me wrong, Ted Cruz has proven to be an ally for many things. But he's NOT part of the liberty movement. Hopefully he continues to vote in tandem with us most of the time, but I will not trust him.

Ron endorsed Cuccinelli in 09

Ron endorsed Cuccinelli in 09 for AG, so I think that is a bad example. I did proudly cast a vote for Glenn Addison.

I'm sorry you need leaders in

I'm sorry you need leaders in your life and i'm sorry you can't think for yourself on issues... I don't care if Elvis endorsed this guy, he's still a neocon, to me.

u really think Ron wrote that?

Because I think for myself

What do you do?

He's the man.

Beat me to it haha

Beat me to it haha

I'm not.

Sure, he could turn out to be a big disappointment like Tea Party Mike, but I see no signs of that yet. Even competing with Rand for attention is not a bad thing. What I actually see though [especially today] is someone working largely in sync with Rand [just as the RP endorsement letter suggested]. I just caught an hour of Cruz's filibuster. What dominated that hour was hearing Cruz essentially pave the way for Rand's Amendment Outlawing Obamacare Exemptions For Government Employees.

I somewhat understand people's distrust of Cruz, but I just don't see evidence for it. He is what he is.

"Why are people ignoring this?"

Because I think on my own, just as I did when I chose to support Ron.

"What else do you need, the Pope's endorsement?"

No. They need mine.

This deserves a bump.

Ted Cruz Neocon

It looks like you were right about Cruz being a neocon. He's sure following the Israel First party line on Hagel...

“The welfare of the people in particular has always been the alibi of tyrants.” — Albert Camus

There's absolutely no way

that I will vote for Ted Cruz. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. He's pandering to us libertarians/constitutionalists for votes all while carrying a neo-con record.

I'm not here to sway anyone's opinion, only state my own.

However, I will say that if you don't do anything else...RESEARCH THE RECORDS. The whole reason this country is in this mess is because we elected politicians for what they wanted us to perceive them as, not as they truly were.

Research Cruz, research Addison.

I had an interesting conversation with another Pauler at a rally. Addison came up to us passing out flyers and so did a young man looking to be elected as a Sheriff. I said, "This is what we need! Fresh meat who hold liberty ideals as sacred." The other Pauler responded with, "They have no records to display their real intentions, they could end up being corrupt or just voting like the status quo." - I agreed with him, but I also think it's ignorant to think that a more well-known opponent of these candidates seeking office whose records stink of social-conservatism and big government would be better alternatives than trying for someone who might actually do some good.

Take a chance. Vote for what might be, not what will never be.

I appreciate your post. Not

I appreciate your post. Not being from Texas I'm ignorant of these candidates except for all the comments. I hope all of this shakes loose and it appears better than it seems. There are so many "little' things that Rand does that makes me question his real values politically. He is NOT his father.

Harris County Coordinator for Ron Paul National Delegates

Howdy Yall. I am the Harris County Coordinator for Ron Paul National Delegates. I get instructions from both the C4L and the Ron Paul 2012 Campaign. In the past I helped start the Houston Tea Party. One might say that I am in the loop. Also, Im the main admin for those facebook SD Texas pages.

So let me start by saying that RP SELDOM makes endorsements, not even of his past volunteers. Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are friends. They want to work together in the Senate. Ron Paul gathers nothing by being endorsed by Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz loses the support of main stream Republicans by endorsing Ron Paul. This was discussed in great detail before the endorsement was made. Both political professionals are okay with it. That's politics.

These China/Goldmansachs/international funding conspiracies need to stop now. They are unfounded/untrue and damaging to the liberty movement. There is a plan. That plan does not include Glen Addison or Lela Pittenger (whom I have personal relationships with and love dearly.

It's our job to fall in line, respect the wishes of Ron and Rand who have devoted their time, money, and careers to the pursuit of liberty.

I want you to copy and paste the above and tell your friends.

P.S. In two years, John Cornyn seat is up for grabs. We can volunteer together for Glenn and/or Lela. Together we can produce positive change.
