As much as I don't like these numbers, consider there may be some truth to them.
I know we all love Dr. Paul on this site. Heck, I visit here probably 10+ times during the day, sneaking 5 minutes while at work etc. to check the latest news. But as dedicated as the lot of us are, sometimes we forget that there are still too many people who don't even know the name of Ron Paul.
Every day, I try to tell 2 or 3 people about Dr. Paul. But even this early or late in the election process, depending on how you look at it, about 75% of the people I talk to have never even heard Ron Paul's name before.
As such, I'm willing to venture as fervent as we are, that the majority of people (I'd guess 65% or more) who are voting in these caucuses get their news primarily from the television, where it is fair to say we have been embattled.
I can easily see 50% of voters being sheeple and voting for whatever "household name" has been recited over the MSM, or voting based on reasons such as "it's time we had a woman in the Whitehouse".
Anyway, to summarize, as much as I want the good Dr. to win, Ron Paul's name truly is not a household name yet, and of those who even have heard his name, the majority probably don't even consider him because they've only heard various hack jobs by the MSM.
Sad but probably true.... :(
I love the grassroots and we've been amazing but we really do need the MSM to reach over 50% of the voting public who know little about Ron Paul. I really think it's time to start some national television campaigning.

Without Mass Media incessant propagation
the most we can actually hope for is between 10 and 20% of the voting public.
FAct of the matter is, the "anti-establishment" message will never be propagated incessantly.
Actually quite the opposite, they will downplay it as much as they can, they will ignore it as much as they can, and they will make sure it only has a limited amount of exposure(thus is the reason message/he(Ron Paul) will always get 5th place no matter what the actual results(third and fourth place results in hours of name propagation on CNN via its Voting Pie).
Argg...
You are correct!
I just talked to my boss, about an hour ago.
About Hillary's crying thing yesterday.
it was an opportunity to bring up Ron Paul. (generally not allowed to talk politics at work)
She had never heard of him. She said she waits until the field is narrowed down before she gets interested. This attitude is VERY COMMON.

McCain wins 40% of the
McCain wins 40% of the anti-war voters? WRONG. Something's wrong and I'm not a conspiracy nut, but this stinks to high hell of bullshit.

Can you imagine what the numbers would be
if the grassroots people weren't knocking on doors out there? The official campaign itself might have brought in half, maybe less. That's how bad they are.
I think you have an excellent point!
I just made a similar post a few minutes ago. I'm not begrudging anyone but I am wondering if the right people are in the right jobs within the inner circle of the campaign. It doesn't stand to reason that all avenues of publicity have had the doors slammed and bolted shut.
We need more exposure
Ron Paul's name has to be everywhere. Signs are good but not enough anymore. We need to give sheeple a reason to choose RP. The Tax-Free Tips movement has reached thousands and given them a reason to remember Ron Paul. The Health Freedom Act is another good reason---different group of people though. Homeschoolers are another good group that need to be reached. Don't ignore Seniors---they're getting sqeezed by fiscal policies today, they may be afraid he'll eliminate their social security and not understand that actually, he's the only candidate that has a plan to pay for their benefits.
Most people listen for "what's in it for them". Ron Paul doesn't spew false promises so they need to understand his platform not just a 30 second soundbite. We need to get the information out.
What is "Some Truth"?
That implies "some falsehood" ~ in other words - voter fraud.
Politics 101
Media is your friend. Every successful campaign depends on a favorable media presence. Any campaign veteran will say you need to fight an air war and a ground war.
From what I've heard, Dr. Paul's name recognition must be very high in NH thanks to the ubiquitous signs and supporters, so I think it comes down to image.
LOL, yeah
I don't think Dr. Paul was an unknown in NH by today.
I have been curious how the vote percentages haven't moved an iota from 41% of the precints reporting to 77% of the precincts reporting. Usually there are some percentage movements here or there, so these results have been rock solid on both sides all night. This means that there is almost no variation in voting patterns around the state. That's pretty damn homogenous.
Even if Paul comes out on top in a few precincts
...each new precinct carries less weight in affecting the percentage as more precincts accumulate...
Though the larger size of the precincts that are coming in later may offset this a bit, but since there are so many precincts this probably isn't going to be a major factor
This is very true, and
It's the main reason we should encourage Dr. Paul to not dismiss an independant run for the White House. The primaries were moved up to limit time for his movement. It will give us more time and by the summer we will have much more support and even more money. We can win this thing.
Example -
The age group that we represent the best in was only 14% of the turnout tonight.

Building on quicksand
Too many campaigns have gone south waiting for the youth vote to turn out in large numbers. The 14% turnout is no surprise to longtime political observers.
Maybe to get college kids
Maybe to get college kids turned out to vote you have to organize big campus party with free food and beer (non-alcoholic of course ;), then carpool them to the polls.
and it really looks like we
and it really looks like we could do a lot better with the church going crowd. I agree with how Ron Paul acts and that there should be some separation, but somehow I think we should let it be known that Dr. Paul is a Christian, maybe we can siphon off some of that Huckabee vote. I think people may begin to realize just how scary Huckabee can be.
Get Christians to think......
and they'll vote for Paul en-masse. Point out Paul's ethics and stand for Life and Homeschooling. Then have Christian friends compare Paul's record on these issues with Huckabee's. Toss in some information on Huckabee's ethics issues, www.judicialwatch.com and you have a Paul supporter instead of a Huckabee supporter. We have convinced two people so far, most of our other Christian friends are already Paul supporters.
