Article: Texas GOP establishment email fears Ron Paul delegate takeover

"Texas is a big prize—155 delegates. It would be a major setback to Romney if he lost most of them. The Texas GOP apparently feels the need to stack attendance at its district conventions in an attempt to stop Paul’s supporters.

Senior executive editor Paul Burka reports for the Texas Monthly,

This e-mail went out to party regulars over the signature of Bill Crocker, Republican national committeeman:

Please plan to attend the SD [Senate District] conventions next Saturday and bring all your friends. We need to be sure we are not overwhelmed by the Ron Paul people, who still want to send a list of all Ron Paul people to the state convention."

The “next Saturday” is in reference to April 21, 2012,

...as the original article is dated April 15, which means the selection of delegates and alternates for the Texas state convention is already completed.

The state convention is in Fort Worth on June 7-9.
Find ways to help out there.
Early voting, for the Republican primary, is going on now through May 25, with May 29 being the official date.

Out of the “not Ron Paul” crowd I do not think Mitt Romney was high on the list of choices here in Texas. They may even blame him for Perry dropping out and are still fuming over that.

If however a large showing to become delegates for Romney did arrive that day, hopefully they are now convinced that he has it all sewn up and there is no need to put out the expenditure to attend the state convention.

Vote

If Paul wins TX it is not going to be with the help of Republicans. We have seen in the last 8-9 states that people still want to vote for Newt/Santorum and this will happen in TX as well. If we want to win TX we need to get young people, Independents, and even Democrats to come out and vote for Paul in mass numbers. Below is a handout that can help Paul:

I don't think they can stop us in Texas

This is Ron Pauls state. This should just motivate our people to bring more people.
Liberty will reign in Texas :)

Sorry Establishment. Diebold can't generate fake human delegates

...yet. Just fake votes.

You say they are worried. Some in the Republican party might be worried. What Republicans fail to remember is that Ronald Reagan used the same tactics from 76-80. Because the Republicans failed to support Ron in '76 (of whom Paul supported in '76) and go for the loser Ford, they lost.

So Reagan started the plan or "REVOLUTION" to secure the delegates from 77-80 and swept the convention. This was called the "REAGAN REVOLUTION". Now we republicans lift up Reagan as the great savior don't we? Guess who is following the same plan, yes and the Republicans are pissing and moaning? It will be President Paul and there is nothing anyone can do about it. In 20 yrs, Paul will be lifted up and placed beside Reagan in a mural Ron & Ron.

This is great "news"

This only helps spread the message that Ron Paul is winning and that he is very electable.

They are stuck between a rock and a hard place. If they continue to ignore him we win. If they fight him they help spread the message that he is winning AND help get the attention of all the people who still don't know Ron Paul even exists due to the propaganda media blackout.

I love how this is playing out.

Don't you just love winning?

Please stop

trying to argue with these people. It's too late in this cycle to change their minds.

If they think we're crazy and inconsequential, they'll stay at home, just like they have so far. If they think we are a real threat, they'll turn out to stop us.

Please don't argue with them.

Fear not, GOP..

..for our country will be served not only by ONE but the greatest generation of patriots in Her entire history.

Silly me

I thought they feared for the well being of the country as well. :)

donvino

LOL..

I know someone will get a little flick on the hand. It has a little bit of sarcasm to the establishment, of course. Honestly, these barnacles need a bigger spade to pry off and we're doing it one at a time.

Thing Is Folks - Ron Paul Is A Republican And The Party

sends e-mail out to undermine his effort? Shouldn't this be brought to the attention of the RNC? I mean Paul is still in the race. Why not an e-mail from the party establishment toward supporters to stop Romney?

If this doesn't prove abandon GOP and come join us Libertarians - then nothing does!!!!

Very true we should be calling for there resignation

for violating rule 11 also.

You Obama/Romney supporters are on the wrong site

Why would anybody in their right mind give up on a winning revolution and the restoring of the Republican Party to its roots and instead join a party that has absolutely no chance of winning??

All you supporters of a third party run has been proven wrong by the success of Ron Paul in the Republican Party. I always questioned a lot of these people's motives, are you just infiltrating this site to make sure we don't get a libertarian in the White House?

maybe you libertarians

should take a look at the best chance we've ever had and help with the take over.

2nd that sentiment!

i move to 2nd the motion

**** Do these people even

****

Do these people even know what they're fighting against? Or is it all just fear of change?

Susie 4 Liberty's picture

But this is an 'update' to an older article

Published before our Travis Co Convention...on April 21st. And many of us got 'lucky' and had Crocker as our SD Chairman. We're the group who finished our Caucus in the Parking Garage across the street from the Church...a wee wittie problem for them that we demanded that the Precincts elect/select our own delegates/alternates right at that moment - instead of just taking the list the GOP Committee brought to us - TELLING US WHOM OUR DELEGATES WOULD BE!

Susie 4 Liberty

so Susie

Then this is an old letter?

Yes, old letter

I was there too in the parking garage where we reconvened until 11pm. It was a 15 hour day at the caucus.

You know those Ron Paul People always want to break the rules

and steal delegates. Yeah we steal delegates and hide them in our basements until the convention is over, meanwhile we replace them with lookalikes that have Ron Paul in their hearts. Oh by the way the number one Rule that these people don't want you to break is"Thou shall not have Ron Paul as our nominee".

With all due respect, I will no longer be a voting prostitute for Constitution rejecting harlots.

That email

is breaking Rule #11. The TXGOP needs to be called out on it.

If Tyranny and Oppression come to this land, it will be in the guise of fighting a foreign enemy.
James Madison

Probably not breaking it . . .

Rule #11 starts with this wording:

"(a)"The Republican National Committee shall not, *****without the prior written and filed approval of all members of the Republican National Committee from the state involved ******. . . "

In other words, if the state's National Committee has written and filed their approval they can endorse the presumptive nominee . . . since all of these letters of warning are coming from the states respective GOPs they have most likely filed their written approval to support Romney.

Blessings )o(

Bill Crocker was just appointed legal counsel by that

Preibus guy....that means the NATIONAL GOP is playing favorites....but
this is not funding so is that acceptable? It might be acceptable, but surely not ethical.

Bill Crocker is a Texan too.

Is David Barton from Wallbuilders still "active" or ...

...involved at the "Party-level"?

Wikipedia reports: "Barton is the former co-chair of the Republican Party of Texas."

If anyone should be PRESSURED to encourage Republicans(within his HUGE spehere of influence) that Ron Paul is the CLOSEST thing we have to a founding father; it's THIS GUY ...

HAMMER HIM ... time for him to put his historical knowledge, very accurate knowledge I might add, to WORK towards turning this nation around!!!

WOW

Texas has not even had their primary and the voters are being disenfranchised!

To arms! To arms! The Redcoats are coming!

Never fear the

Never fear the inevitable...
