We all need THIS comeback when our "delegate method" is criticized!Submitted by paul-for-liberty on Sat, 05/12/2012 - 09:17
Okay guys, let's get real here: if Ron Paul wins in Tampa, or at the very least starts worrying the media/Romney people in the meantime because of the delegates, then you can bet we're going to receive anger, criticism, and threats from the neocons in the Romney camp, backed up by the MSM.
So, we should ALL be prepared with a short, concise mantra that justifies our approach via delegates.
First, let's remember that the delegate process was designed as part of our checks and balances. In essence, it was designed to ensure that the whim of popular vote is balanced by the dedication necessary to become a delegate. For example: ANYONE can get off their asses once every 4 years and cast a vote for whoever is most popular (because that is how MOST people vote), but NOT EVERYONE will become an active delegate. So in reality, a delegate is a person who is much more dedicated and active which, by this logic, should counterbalance the swarms of sheep taking to the polls for the popular vote. The popular vote is mostly determined by whatever the media says, while the delegate process is much more representative of POLITICALLY ACTIVE patriots who will do more for their country then just cast a vote.
So, the reality here is that 1 Ron Paul delegate is equal to a handful of Romney popular voters.
This is all you have to say to detractors of our delegate method. Here are some different versions, depending on how much room you got to write/speak:
Full Version (doesn't fit in YouTube Video comment section):
"Reagan used this same method in 1976. The delegate process was designed as part of our checks and balances. ANYONE can cast a vote for the popular vote, but only TRULY dedicated Americans become delegates. The delegate process ensures that uninformed Americans, who vote for whoever the media tells them to, do not decide the fate of the country through the popular vote. So 1 Ron Paul delegate, who is dedicated enough to become politically ACTIVE for his country, has more value and say then 1 Romney supporter who's dedication only goes as far as casting a popular vote once every 4 years. In essence, 1 Ron Paul delegate = 20 Romney popular voters. Political awareness should determine America's fate, not the beauty contest popular vote."

"Reagan used this same method in 1976. Delegates r more dedicated than popular voters, cuz it takes more effort. They have more influence."
There's nothing to be guilty about here, people. Be prepared to defend yourselves.
