How Does Ben Swann Get Away With Broadcasting the Truth?

Because his TV station is NOT owned and manipulated by the Big (Lie) Media Corps!

Fox 19 is owned by Raycom, which is an Employee owned company.
Here's the link:

That's why Ben's reports are allowed to be broadcast without the restraint imposed by the other Corporate Media owned entities.

He refers to this in the Tracy Diaz interview:

This is important!

He also said that all the support for his reports that he receives from views worldwide is noticed by his employer and that gives him more juice to keep on bringing us the truth.
EVERYONE should email, call, snail-mail or send smoke-signals (lol) to Fox 19 praising Ben for his efforts!
NOTE: For Ben's sake - Be respectful in all correspondence, please!

Truth bump

allegory - ˈalɪg(ə)ri/ - noun - 1. a story, poem, or picture which can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning, typically a moral or political one.

Ben Swann did an interview with Dangerous Conversation, on Radioio.com in early March.

In the interview, the host asked how a man speaking the truth was able to keep his job in the mainstream media? Ben was very candid in his answer, and said that his bosses told him that "as long as he deals in facts, they don't care what he talks about." But it was made abundantly clear to him that he must deal in facts, not conjecture.

An imperfect messenger of a perfect message. — Ron Paul

Love that I was able to interview Mr. Swann

I have to say the response to this interview with Ben has been amazing.. Thanks for keeping it in the forefront. It was amazingly informative, and he is a damn good man :)

Because, Ben Swann Doesn't Broadcast the Truth when

he say's Romney has 800+ Delegates and Ron Paul has 80+ Delegates.
Don't believe a damn thing this guy say's because, it's just another manipulation to make people think, Ben Swann cares about Ron Paul or that Ben Swann is Broadcasting the Truth.

Ron Paul has far more Delegates than Ben Swann says and Romney has far fewer Delegates and yet, people act like he's being honest or that he knows the true count or that he gives a damn about Ron Paul when, the real truth is, it's nothing more than luring people in to his show and manipulating them so they will eventually see that Romney is really going to win.
Get people to Trust you then, get them to believe YOU, and then get them to do what you will of them.

Think I'm wrong, then, try to explain why a News Caster like Ben Swann would say Romney has 800+ Delegates and Ron Paul has only 80+ Delegates when, no one really knows what the Delegate count actually is.
Misdirection at its best so, “Wake the Hell” up and Stop Believing these people and put your efforts 100% towards increasing Ron Paul's Delegates to assure Ron Paul gets elected POTUS.

A. Calm the hell down, we're all on the same team.

B. Listen to what Ben keeps saying about delegates properly and you will understand properly. He keeps saying We don't know for sure what the true delegate count is and refers to this site for estimates:

C. Ben Swann is the best reporter out there by a mile, is a freedom loving constitutionalist and he needs ALL our continued and accrued support so he can continue to be one of our greatest allies. Not even by being biased! Simply by reporting the truth!

So calm down, research him better and get on board if you truly want to help the cause.

"All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident."

Where are you getting your info?

I haven't seen those numbers come from Ben. Could you provide a link where he says that Romney has 800+ delegates? I have listened to a lot of reality check so I find it hard to believe he's helping the establishment. In fact, how could they not want him to go away? I do agree we should be cautious with every bit of info we receive. This is a critical time. A time of vicious attacks and they're getting worse. It's amazing to me how many people see Paul supporters as rowdy anarchists unwilling to hear another voice. The msm is doing a great job of using our enthusiasm against us.
I've read that Ben has set up http://thereal2012delegatecount.com/ I don't know if that's true or not.

Check these out and tell me if you still believe Swann's so evil:

Can't find that actual video "yet" but, here's one with 600+

23 minutes into the video

BUT STILL, he's reporting the Delgate count as best he can find it; Romney having 670 Delegates and Ron Paul with 66 Delegates.
AND, this number is Not true at this time period according to other sources in support of Ron Paul.
I'm a Ron Paul supporter (and, I will Not Vote for anyone but, Ron Paul) and am Not taken in, just because someone seems to appear to be on Ron Paul's side as long as the Delegate count is so far from what I've heard from other sources.

And yes, I know this video was uploaded in April 2012.
I like Ben Swann but, I don't believe everything from him just because, he seems honest and/or helping to get the truth out about Delegate count, especially when I never believed Romney could possibly be so far ahead of Ron Paul's Delegate count.
670 to 66 was BS and yet, Ben Swann Did in Fact report this as what he believed to be somewhat accurate. Hmmmmmm
We should be putting all of our resources and Support behind Ron Paul Not a news caster.

Co-op News?

I've heard of Co-ops for grocery stores and banks (credit unions), but co-op media outlets are a first. How does one go about getting these launched?

Help Ben Swann with other news as well so they are ahead of the

rest of the media and ratings go up. Hopefully as ratings and money comes in...so will viewership and other channels pursue the money trial.
I dont know how it works but...just my two cents.

Keep them posted on other breaking news as well, so they do well, which will be good for everyone. We need more independent media to work for truth and reality than smoke and mirrors.

I hope they go online as well...just licensing their stuff could bring them income....b/c who else is going to put this stuff out....NOT CNN and the lot.

Is there a way to buy a shares into that company as a group???
Is that even possible?

Totally professional and refreshingly honest

Reality Check is what all new journalism ought to be!

Ben's candor and diplomacy here assures his viewers that whatever issue he is covering, he won't skewer it to serve anyone's agenda. He carefully avoided going into questions that might have closed doors of communication with those he needs as allies, while exploring facts and issues few have dared cover.

He's right, the rest of the media will be trying to play catch up on Paul's continued rise, as Romney's very real unpopularity continues to cause his delegate support to fall. Many are seeing the GOP propping up Romney's run against Obama as just another Bob Dole vs. Clinton deja vu' all over again!

Thanks Ben, for your fine work. May it embolden more to be like you!

Sent a note. Bump.

Sent a note.

Just sent an email too

I'm french and I've been supporting Ron Paul from the beginning, I think that this guy is our last chance to make it through.
The change will come from the US and not from Europe...

I've just sent a support email to the News Director and the General Manager of Fox19 from Paris, I'm sure that they'll be surprised that their show is also viewed by french RP supporters...

I really wish I could vote or participate to the RP Rallies ...

All I could do was to buy RP chocolates :) and they were good!

Au revoir :)

Vive la liberté! Vive la France!

It's great to have support from a country our media has demonized since your country had the balls stand up and say no to us. Thank you so much for posting. It's incredibly encouraging.

May as well REALLY go for it...

I told them to give Ben a raise! :)

Just sent them a big thank you email from the UK

Ben Swann is...

...simply amazing. We are lucky to have him and all the reports he has done so far for information and record keeping of all that has gone one so far (including the fraud and manipulation!).

Emailed all the above email and cc'd him.

Listen Up about Broadcasting...

You guys are so woefully ignorant of the scheme under which broadcasters operate, it's sad. The King of England used to license newspapers; do you think England had a free press? Today, our federal government licenses broadcasters in the USA, and the result is no different. So, while ownership of the broadcaster is important to consider, it's not the only consideration when contemplating why the corporate media in America behaves as it does.

The FCC 'renews' a license to broadcast every few years and can deny the license if the broadcaster is found not to be broadcasting "in the public interest, convenience, or necessity."--A completely amorphous standard applied by unelected bureaucrats at the FCC that subjects every licensee to brutal fear all the time, as there are always others vying to get the same license in each market each time a license comes up for renewal.

Another consideration as a broadcaster is your customer base. Who is the biggest advertising customer for broadcasters every year? Answer: the Federal Government. All those ads for every latest PC ideal are funded by you and me, the taxpayer (to influence us to do as advertised)(side note: the "Ad Council" was created during WWII for wartime propoganda. It's still here, funding all those public service announcements you see on TV).

Another thing to consider: the networks 'affiliate' with various broadcast licensees. The network does *not* tell the affiliate what to air, it merely supplies programming to the local affiliate for a price. The affiliates *pay the network* for the programming (that the local affiliate could not possibly afford to produce on its own). The networks want all the affiliates they can get. So, there is little influence the network has on the affiliate, as the affiliate could switch to some other network or go alone.

Here's an interesting bit of history: the FCC sued the networks back in the 1930's (as memory serves) to shut them down, because the idea of a network did not fit in the regulators' pre-conceived idea for what broadcasting should look like in America. That idea, still in effect today, is called 'localism'--where each broadcaster is supposed to be independent and concerned with local issues. The FCC did not want a single station broadcasting to the entire nation. They actually drew maps of the entire nation with little circles for each station to occupy on each channel. So when licensees began to 'affiliate' with each other and share programming (and pool resources to make shows none alone could afford to produce) the networks were born (ABC, CBS, and NBC).

This 'localism' scheme is why the FCC allocated tons of spectrum space to the UHF band, which never got used. They over-allocated a scarce resource to TV broadcasting for DECADES. They finally ended that when cell phones and wireless computers came on the scene, as those needed to use spectrum space, and the FCC finally re-allocated that part of the spectrum. Check out an old TV sometime, and notice that the UHF receiver goes up to something like channel 83. The new ones go only to like 14.

In summary, it is asinine to think that we have a "free press" in the broadcast medium, when a broadcaster is licensed by its biggest customer. Don't expect Raycom Media or Ben Swann to stay in business if they keep rocking the boat...

Important history lesson. FCC ~ Friend of Foe?

Folks may not like your message; how-some-ever, your substance is quite telling. As I hearken back to points you cite, I am flush with sordid details of what you recall in your few paragraphs. The Federal Communication Commission (FCC) is no friend of our "Free Press."

Disclaimer: Mark Twain (1835-1910-To be continued) is unlicensed. His river pilot's license went delinquent in 1862. Caution advised. Daily Paul

Your point is???

I never said we have a "free press" in Raycom, or Fox 19. Wxix broadcasts the same 'lame-stream media" Fox's top stories like every other Fox affiliate.
Everything you've written is correct, as far as I've read, about how the broadcasting industry works. Very informative, absolutely.
But, it isn't pertinent.

Ben IS rocking the boat. And his support is, quite literally, worldwide.
He may be upsetting the 'localism' cart - However ...
It doesn't matter if the FCC draws a tight circle around Cincinnati and says, "You cannot allow any of your material to be broadcast beyond this line".
His extended viewership isn't because other broadcasters are picking up his reports and airing them. It's the internet that has given him this 'world stage'.
And when WXIX goes to renew its license, I doubt the FCC would decline renewal based solely on Ben's reports.
But, let's say they do ... citing that they were not broadcasting in public interest, a long court battle will follow, surely. Since it will be a civil action, and the case will be whether or not the public interest was served, the FCC will be hard pressed to prove Ben's series of reports were dishonest or meant to alarm the public or cause any harm whatsoever.

As I said, informative stuff! Thanks. But not relevant to my original post.

Yes. You too have many a fine point.

You & Barrister both make many fine points. Perspective & era is different. Contrast is stark. Moreover, both seem agreeable to me.

Sorry if I interrupted.

My Point Is to Educate You Guys

So the history behind the current regulatory scheme Broadcasters live under, IS relevant to the original post, which asked why Ben's reporting hasn't been silenced (yet), and suggested it was the ownership of his station (when the big picture is much larger than that).

"The more laws we make, the more snares we lay to entrap ourselves."

I greatly appreciate your points made about FCC shenanigans.

Your recollection of Federal Communication Commission dark history is extremely relevant. It explains a lot about taking freedom out of our "Free Press."

Incidentally, our printers (those running printing presses) are licensed also. Much the same shenanigans control our English & American printing press operators. The Pilgrims ran printing presses in Amsterdam & London railing against the Printers-That-Be (paper-money changers). The Pilgrims thought it best to make a hasty exit... They fled to America in 1620. Their old world presses in those cities went silent after they fled.

When Paul wins the Nomination...

Ben Swann will be the only pundit who won't have any explaining to do.

Your post is very informative

Your post is very informative and instructive. However, you needn't be so condescending and insulting toward the OP and others. I do not think that the OP was analyzing the problem in its entirety; merely he was commenting on Swan's station's situation which is similar to how things were not long ago before all the local stations were merged with the big networks. No reason to get your panties in a knot.

Good point.. but remember they need someone to be credible
