Answering MSM on its emerging agenda against Ron Paul delegate success with factsSubmitted by multimediamonitor on Sun, 05/13/2012 - 04:49
The Ron Paul delegate strategy success is most encouraging and has clearly rattled the GOP "old guard" and it's MSM supporters.
It is doubly encouraging that Ben Swann's 'Reality Check' program has been explaining such details as Rule 38. His broadcasting of Jennifer Sheehan's advice that all delegates [despite other rules claiming that most delegates are bound by primary and caucus results] have always been and still are "free agents" is particularly important.
However the wider public still trusts the MSM which has been and is suppressing the above most newsworthy facts. Instead an insidious new agenda is emerging. It presents the delegate success as subverting the popular will as polled before the RNC.
While Dr Paul and his campaign people have been reported as explaining that the delegate strategy was announced early in the campaign, I've seen no reports of them explaining why all delegates must be "free agents". The answer is simple and comes down to two points.
First, the popular will as polled before the RNC largely reflected the information broadcast and published by the MSM. That information did not include the relevance of Rule 38 or Jennifer Sheehan's advice. I even expect that few of Dr Paul's supporters knew of them before Ben Swann's 'Reality Check' was broadcast. For generations literally millions of young and old citizens have been convinced that delegates were bound to vote for "winners" of so-called "beauty" contests!
Second, since at least 2007 the MSM has been suppressing and misrepresenting Dr Paul's messages for liberty under the Constitution, and against unsound money and undeclared wars.
By the time delegates get to vote in Tampa in August they will have had months to grasp and discuss the above facts. Initially this will in private meetings where even those who felt bound by other rules than 38, claiming that most delegates are bound by primary and caucus results.
If, despite Ben Swann's reality checks, in August the MSM is both suppressing the relevance of Rule 38 and demanding that delegates respect the popular will expressed months before by misinformed primaries and caucuses, many delegates, including Mitt Romney's will still feel torn between their pledges and their consciences.
Hence this call for Dr Paul and his campaign team to answer MSM questions with more than repetion of how the delegate strategy was announced months ago. Whenever interviewed they need to repeat the facts of points one and two and keep repeating them until each network has publicly admitted corrected its errors on point one.
If by Tampa, MSM networks have not publicly admitted and corrected their errors on point one, delegates torn between their pledges and their consciences are more likely to find the collective courage to both publicly expose such networks, and to follow their consciences in each round of voting.
