On a lighter note, saw The Avengers today

In the movie, there is a debate between Captain America and Ironman. Captain America all about tradition and sacrifice, and Ironman with his tongue-in-cheek outside the box thinking. And I can't help but think Capt. America would be a Romney supporter and Ironman a Paul supporter. No offense to Captain America fans out there!

Man I don't know what I am going to do after the election for a life!

i'm pretty sure the avengers and xmen would all vote Paul

they're trying to save our country from destruction, right!? Loki would be behind Romney and Obama to keep the wars going and humanity distracted.

and did ya notice Tony Stark reppin' the Black Sabbath shirt?

Iyyaaaam Iyyerrrnnmaaan...cute ; )

did you catch the part

when Agent Phil told Captain America "With all the things happening today, we could use a little old fashion"

I felt like that struck a chord with the Ron Paul Revolution.

Ron Paul IS The Golden Standard

Actually if you follow the

Actually if you follow the comics Captain America is the more freedom oriented individual vs Ironmans need to regulate people... It was the series of comics regarding the super human registration act mandating that all super humans were to be forced to reveal their identitieas... Cap campaigned for Privacy, Ironman supported the bill and it created a super hero civil war.

Idk

Just seemed like Capt America was the established way the status quo and Ironman was the more mix it up, outside of the box, fresh idea guy. Once again I need a life!

Personality Types

What you're describing is the difference between "sensates" and "intuitives" per psychological type theory (see Meyers/Briggs).

Here's the good/bad news: iNtuitives are outnumbered by Sensates. Sensates do all the necessary heavy lifting, rowing, polishing the brass, mending sail, cooking, swabbing, accounting, etc. needed to keep the boat afloat.

Meanwhile, iNtuitives are up in the crow's nest rocking the boat and telling everyone which way they should be going. (Starting websites about monetary policy, quoting Star Wars and Milton Friedman, being frustrated that people are "sheep" and can't see the obvious.)

Getting the Sensates going the "right" direction takes time. They have to learn to trust that you can really see over the horizon further than they can, and you need not to rock the boat too much: it makes them nervous. However, Sensates are absolutely necessary to the Revolution, and, luckily for us, the government causes more of them to join us every day.

We took that test (hubby and

We took that test (hubby and I) over 20 years ago - he was intuitive and I was sensate - and it's true!

The Sum of the Parts

Is greater than the whole!

Everything works better when these types work together, but it is the most likely cause of divorce! Doesn't have to be, but these two types just don't see things the same way, so resolving issues is much more difficult when they don't see the same ones!

Director Joss Whedon is da Man!

though, not sure if he himself believes all of it, but does definitely have 'libertarian-leanings' and distrust of govt & corporatist entities. All of his shows are littered with those themes.

Hey, he did after all make the best libertarian show to have ever graced the TV: FireFly!!!!!!

Brown Coats [NOT to be confused with the Nazi The Sturmabteilung, aka 'Brown Shirts'] of the Cosmos, unite!

Not to mention, having first deployed all the cinema verite camera tricks employed in Ronald D. Moore's Battle Star Galactica. Along with absolute silence in space meme, at least as far as TV shows go.

Also first to hire and use Summer Glau, a href=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morena_Baccarin">Morena Baccarin, and popularize Mark A. Sheppard

Then, there's the whole "Whedonspeak," which any casual to serious wordsmiths and lovers of diction/vernacular simply cannot ignore.

Adjective for Noun!

Just glad he's finally getting all the attention he deserves.

PS. "And I can't help but think Capt. America would be a Romney supporter and Ironman a Paul supporter." -- well, the latter is an anti-state free marketeer/entreupreneur, just like Dr. Paul! Well okay, so except for the whole freewheeling billionaire playboy thing.

But can you imagine if Dr. Paul's estate were to license all of his name and image?

Dr. Paul would be a true gold billionaire, easily.

Mittens is a Reaver

I still have Firefly cancellation syndrome :(

Ron Paul will bring back Firefly!

YES! And Bain Capital = the Blue Sun Corp!

Though, admittedly in our world, GoldmanSUX probably fits that bill, better.

One caveat: Joss never had a time to delve into Blue Sun deeper in the series, so who knows what he initially designed/intended them to be, whether they were some latent/competing Alliance faction, be it good or feigning evil, or another Wolfram And Hart.

But RINO/neoCon/Likudnik MuttWrongneyBOTS? They're definitely Reavers, once human, but a failed Eugenics experiment that sought to cure "evil" out of humans, ironically resulted in the most vicious, mindless, homo sapien sapiens mutant, ever!

Perfect & Fitting!

Gotta love it. The Alliance would be today's NWO I suppose, the corporatist govt commissar control freaks who seek to 'improve' humanity, only ended up literally genetically destroying it.

Parallels abound!

Govt terrorists at their best.

PS. "I still have Firefly cancellation syndrome :( " - precise reason why I cannot watch ANY of his stuff, without almost an obsessive need to do marathon runs and finish the entire series, let alone a single season of it! He's my literary crack, I'm afraid.

Indeed!

Indeed!

He's A Writer, Too

Most well written stories are about the journey from slavery to freedom, with the slavery usually self-imposed, but not always. Rarely, it's about the journey from freedom to slavery (tragic).

What do you think? http://consequeries.com/

Actually, my love for his work specifically stems from

his writings!

Joss Whedon, is bar none one of the most talented writers to have ever worked in Hollywood! He was originally hired as a staff writer for Roseanne, and later in films as what the industry refers to as a "script doctor," someone who comes in last minute to salvage a problem-ridden script. Also Oscar nominated for his script for the original Toy Story!

Joss is supposedly the world's only third generation screenwriter! lol. He also lived in England for a bit; that certainly probably helped him master various English colloquialisms.

In fact, he's the reason why I actually rarely pay attention to credits for actors anymore, but for writers!

In fact Whedon's writers are currently one of the most sought after screenwriters in the industry: Tim Minear, David Fury, Stephen S. DeKnight, Marti Noxon, Jane Espenson, David Greenwalt, Doug Petrie, Rebecca Rand Kirshner, Drew Z. Greenberg, Drew Goddard, Mere Smith (isn't that like the coolest name for a writer?), Shawn Ryan, Elizabeth Craft & Sarah Fain, Ben Edlund, just to name a few.

Only Michael Piller's Star Trek: The Next Generation's writers are on equal par: Ronald D. Moore, René Echevarria, Ira Steven Behr, and the worst writer of them all, and much maligned by Trekkies the world over for a good reason, Branon Braga.

Yeah, that was a bit writer-geek-out fest-ish, but if you're watching a TV show or a Film, and one or more of those screenwriters/producers/editors' names pop up, barring irrevocably horrible original script or director, and/or mitigating circumstances with production vs. Studio management, you're likely viewing a film or TV series worth watching.

Though, I don't think it'd suit me to work at TV-writing pace, but Joss' writers meeting have got to be one of the best 'writing schools' in the world. TV writers punch out full on script in less than two weeks of development and final script sometimes in less than two days. But to do it spectacularly as Whedon and his crew fully in sync with multiple simultaneous storylines and character arcs, is absolutely amazing.

In fact, initially I hated, like hated Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sarah Michelle Gellar. In fact they're the reason why I never ever tuned into WB to watch any of their shows in the 1990's.

I was like, 'So WTF is all the big deal with Joss Whedon? I mean what kind of a douche decides to make a TV series based on the film with the same title that horribly bombed in Box Offic, in fact sucked, really really bad, and not even a good 'cult classic'/B-flick. Worse, he wants to revamp it as a TV show starring the Maxwell/Taster's Choice coffee commercial guy, and an annoying teenflick chick who used to do even more annoying soap opera? And whoTF would be crazy enough to executive produce an entire show based on that premise, with those two 'actors' as the lead??'

Then, one night I had the stupid 'misfortune' of watching FireFly, not the "Train Job" but the original, properly sequenced pilot, Serenity.

And I was like, 'Wuh. A fictional world with fully developed mythos, rituals, religion, political infrastructure, social & econ constructs, and their own distinct language & memes? And, it was CANCELLED without ever finishing its first season? WTF's going on here? Oh right, it's Fox. Of course, they wouldn't know a good thing if it bitchsmacked them in the face.'

So having fallen for an Otaku-esque spell of sitting through an entire weekend watching the entire FireFly episodes back to back, only to find out they cancelled a show with the best dialogue since David Milch's DeadWood (also cancelled) a veritably 'crass' Shakespeare loaded with .45LongColt, after airing only 11 out of 14 episodes, and aired an episodic series, out of order? Well that's it! Only further proves that Murdoch's empire is simply littered with EVIL a-holes!' LOL

Caught the Whedon bug, and never ever looked at TV series, films, and writing in general, the same again.

Yup, I blame it all on a man with a vision to create series with a typical 40-50min episode with 27 minutes without ANY dialogue, an ENTIRE episode without ANY music that turned out to be the most visceral depiction of someone dying and events surrounding it to have ever been captured on a scripted TV show, a friggin' musical (I hate musicals) with cheesy songs that ended up in my head for weeks (damn you Whedon!) that he wrote, composed, and scored all by himself that actually moved the story as well as character arcs along with perfection, and a quasi series finale that actually killed off THE eponymous main character with a closing shot tombstone inscription/epithet that simply summed up the cynical irreverence and hilarity of the entire series. Not to mention, many episodes which are not so wholesome, and are very, very dark explorations into the human psychology, that one has to view them in order to truly 'get,' as otherwise would be an utter spoiler.

Yup, the guy's a friggin' genius.

After the election I hope you

After the election I hope you stay in the GOP. Start playing a role in the GOP party in as a local position. I don't know how your state works but we have GOP County Committeemen for each election district. An election district is really tiny--only a fraction of a town. Each town is divided up into numerous election districts.

I plan on becoming a GOP county committeeman and holding documentary viewings at the local library in order to educate everyone in my election district.

The committeemen we get the viewings of interesting documentaries and discussions will follow. I've lined up a great viewing series:

Food Inc.
Freedom to Fascism
Money as Debt
Money Masters
Farmageddon
etc...

I most likely will as I will

I most likely will as I will be a delegate this upcoming weekend, so I've become involved in the process - touche Dr. Paul. But I will miss keeping up with the 76 year old Libertarian's battle against the establishment gop, the media and the powers that be when the campaign wraps in the next several months, hence my need to get a life comment. Saw Food, Inc. Monsanto is disturbing.

My whole point was that the

My whole point was that the whole campaign will never wrap up. It will continue eternally. Either through Ron Paul's campaign for now or via Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty PAC. We can't just walk away. We need to keep at it on our Congressmman and vote them out if not this year then 2014.

In the comic books,

In the comic books, specifically the series titled "civil war", the government mandates all superheroes to register with the government or face being arrested. All because of a "false flag" attack too. Captain America created his own group of superheroes who refused to register and subsequently was branded a terrorist. It was actually Tony Stark that led the superhero side of the effort to register all heroes. Rich guy (Stark/Romney) pro-registration, American values guy (Captain/Paul) anti-registration.

They must've borrowed the

They must've borrowed the idea for this from The Watchmen. Sounds very derivative, but interesting.

Ha - interesting!

Ha - interesting!

yea, it was called the

yea, it was called the Superhuman Registration Act. I would rate the writing as "above-average". They could have done a lot better with it, but the fact they even touched on such a concept is wonderful. Part of the "Siege" storyline they deal with Thor's home "Asgard" having to reside hovering a few miles above Kansas which tackles the issue of "national sovereignty" since it's technically not on American soil.

We talk about what if the Chinese had a base right outside of Texas, well it's a ton more complicated when it's a nation of Gods.
