Republican Executive Committee Member Calls for Resignation of Reince Priebus
For violation or Rule 11
From the Press Release:
Washington, DC, May 07, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Jeffrey Bales, a Member-at-Large of the Pima County GOP Executive Committee (Tucson, Arizona), says:
“Due to violation of the RNC's Rule #11, I call for Chairman Reince Priebus to resign immediately. It is un-American and beneath the standards established by the Republican Party to violate this rule. It is unethical to support a single Republican Presidential candidate (Mitt Romney) while other Republican candidates remain in the race."
So why is Jesse Benton on behalf of the Ron Paul campaign so forgiving?

And the rp campaign is ok with this?
Why would Benton allow this and then praise priebus?
Ignore Jesse Benton
He is not doing anyone any favors. I'm with Jeffrey Bales on this.
Priebus needs to feel the wrath of Paul supporters over this clearly illegal and unethical violation.

this seems to help jesse benton more than
it helps the R3volution
You Asked the Question
You ask the question: “So why is Jesse Benton on behalf of the Ron Paul campaign so forgiving?” http://www.pr.com/press-release/410950
The short answer: He is a twit! And before you look, I have been here for 4 years and 41 weeks. So, I am by no means a bomb thrower. But for you apologists of Mr. Benton, I suggest you are naïve and misguided.
His only bonifides is that he is Ron Paul’s grandson-in-law. Other than that, he’s got nothing. I can only conclude he is angling for a job in the Mitt Romney campaign after Tampa.
I have dealt with media in several campaigns; some with statewide presence and others on a national landscape. I could never imagine making such a congratulatory statement to my candidate’s opponent.
If my son, a political consultant, who has been in the leadership positions in US senatorial campaigns ever made a statement like the one Jessie made, on behalf of one of his candidates, I would encourage him to seek medical attention.
I realize there are people who are more invested in the RP campaign, both
financially and physically than me, but I am invested enough to throw a red flag here. The Ron Paul campaign should muzzle this guy. Send him to the north 40 and keep him the hell away from the media. He is a disaster to the esprit de corps of the troops in the field.
No candidate in their right mind would ever hire this guy. He is a consummate loser. He doesn’t know how to take one for his man or for the team. For Jessie, It's all about Jessie. The r3volution be damned.

And if my son did the same, I would make sure he needed medical attention!

maybe because he
is in the know. Why waste time, money and energy to "harm" the opposition when they will implode themselves.
Let the campaign managers get on with their work, knowing that the Ron Paul supporters are behind them...every step of the way.
Blind allegiance to those "in charge"
is never a good idea.
Sometimes they don't know better and sometimes they don't have your best interest in mind but rather their own.
A challenge on Rule 11
allows the campaign to take a stand that its not over yet.
Conceding the point when a Republican Executive Committee Member thinks the RNC has violated Rule 11 is IMO a mistake
Perhaps it means nothing?
Can rules be amended by agreement of a candidate? Makes for flaky rules?
"We don't care if you do your victory thingee" (If you want to break your own rules, that is your business.)
The campaign steps out of that battle and the executive committee member may be taking their committee position seriously.
In the mean time the campaign goes back to winning delegates and solidifying support in the GOP grassroots.
Why sacrifice a winning strategy for a losing tactic? The goal is winning delegates.
Free includes debt-free!
Yep.
Bingo. You can't sugar coat this folks.
