Message from Ron Paul 5/14/2012

NOTE: Please stop creating new threads on this same topic. Stay focused! Become a delegate, go to your conventions!

As I reflect on our 2012 Presidential campaign, I am humbled by the supporters who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much. And I am so proud of what we have accomplished. We will not stop until we have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.

This campaign fought hard and won electoral success that the talking heads and pundits never thought possible. But, this campaign is also about more than just the 2012 election. It has been part of a quest I began 40 years ago and that so many have joined. It is about the campaign for Liberty, which has taken a tremendous leap forward in this election and will continue to grow stronger in the future until we finally win.

Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.

Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.

I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved - become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul

Sung Song National Alternate Delegate Money Bomb!!!

During the Texas GOP Convention, I was recently selected as an alternate delegate to the RNC in Tampa, FL!!!
The costs are estimated to be $3000+ to $4000+. My chip in goal is $2000, and I can scrape together the rest. I have exhausted my reserves and now need to ask for help. I have donated $2000+ over the years directly to campaign, organized and fund raised for a major RP parade float, campaigned for several delegates by printing flyers at Texas GOP convention (from my own expense), helped organize a caravan to Austin for a Ron Paul rally, donated my time and resources to numerous Ron Paul events locally in the DFW area.
If you cannot help with chip in, please you can help by giving my DP page an up vote, promote my chipin, or leave a comment.

Stop being negative!!!!

Looks like the Oregon race for non-presidential offices is very boring. good news for us. will probably mean a lower turnout

Jesse is wrong, but never give up!

I've been in shock over the last two days as many of you have. Ron Paul, although not dropping out, isn't spending more time or resources trying to win the popular vote in states like California and Texas. Doug Wead reassures us in an announcement that we can in fact win. With only a few hours separating them, Jesse Benton sends out an email literally succumbing to the MSM delegate count that we all know is not true but urges us to continue getting delegates.

We are all unhappy with Benton, but wars were never waged with just one man they are fought and won with many. We are an army. An army of intelligent human beings who see through the corruption that plagues Washington. We have a leader but we, his supporters, must not let up or give in.

We must send not only the MSM a message but Ron Paul HQ a message: we are hear to stay.

Here are practical things we must do:

1. Don't lose heart but press on knowing that we can win this.
2. Email blast the campaign with the true delegate count: http://thereal2012delegatecount.com/
3. Inform as many as possible about Ron Paul and reassure them he is in it to win it.
4. Be respectful not only to the campaign but to others in your communication.
5. Have faith. All is not lost yet. We still have a mighty Creator who, no matter the circumstances is by our side.

Take care and may our good Lord bless and keep you,

Quoting the MSM delegate

Quoting the MSM delegate count from the MSM is not acceptable. Jesse Benton either needs to resign or get fired from the Ron Paul campaign.

you remind me of hitler

Such a control freak.

My 2 cents while I have change

I believe the comment of Jesse, is to say the Establishment is saying he is 200 delegates away from their nod ,so they can just do it . We will continue the fight for freedom and the main stream media will cost millions of dollars to give ads out and they are not getting any good treatment. Remember Florida? Basically the old saying is black listed . Continue the fight patriots ,we are changing the world wither they like it or not we will prevail. May god be with you during these frustration times. Keep sharing the truth. I know its hard when everyone is asleep, but one person can not do everything but one person can do something.United we stand :)

Reality not setting in yet?

Romney is actually 200 measly delegates away from clinching the nomination. It will happen this month. CNN will announce it and it will dominate the news cycle for several days.

If Anybody Has The Complete Jesse Benton Email...

please post it..Thank you.

Jesse Benton needs to go!

His latest statement contradicts the entire delegate strategy we have witnessed taking shape and he even uses the MSM's delegate estimates to concede to Romney.

"Unfortunately, barring something very unforeseen, our delegate total will not be strong enough to win the nomination. Governor Romney is now within 200 delegates of securing the party’s nod. However, our delegates can still make a major impact at the National Convention and beyond." Jesse Benton, Chief Strategist, Ron Paul 2012, May 15, 2012

Worse than that, Benton says there is no problem with the RNC raising funds for Romney while Ron Paul is still competing. He even goes on to say: “Chairman Priebus has always treated Dr. Paul and our team with respect, and we appreciate his leadership.” What leadership?! Marginalization, cheating and fraud are all that I have seen from the Republican party, so what gives?

Guys, just carry on and don't

Guys, just carry on and don't pay attention to what Benton said, what matters to me is this:

"I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved - become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned."

Benton cannot tell you what to do, you know what you want and how to achieve it, listen to the doctor and ignore everything else, the doctor has always been wise and will always be.

Why, why, why Jesse did you say this?

Jesse Benton says - "Unfortunately, barring something very unforeseen, our delegate total will not be strong enough to win the nomination"

Why would he say this??? Our delegate situation has improved and are now just seeing the fruits of our labor. If it is not any good now why was it good enough before?

Jesse Benton says - "Romney is within 200 delegates of securing the party's nod."

What the heck? The campaign has been telling us all along that the numbers from the msm are incorrect. Why is he using exaggerated numbers? With all that we have discovered about the voting process like abstaining on the first ballot and even finding precedence for this, why why why would he say this?

From Politico: "Paul campaign leaders have been in discussions with representatives from both the Romney campaign and the Republican National Committee. They earlier consented to a joint fundraising arrangement between the RNC and Romney."

Sounds like the Paul campaign has already conceded. I don't want to believe all this but what I have learned about the 2008 campaign and listening to the rhetoric of recent emails from this one... has completely taken the wind out of my sails. I know this liberty movement is an on going one and I will completely support its cause but it does not help our spirits to see any concession to Romney or anyone. I hope my take on this is incorrect.

Who do you think he was

Who do you think he was saying to? Think!

I think I follow.

I gather that you are implying that he said this as a ruse to the GOP or RNC. I have considered that. If so, at what cost? Did he think that every person or a majority of Ron Paul supporters would understand this tactic? I think not. He should have said NOTHING.

Carry on the revolution:

Something Happened Behind the Scenes

I will stop short of saying there are any "alliances" but Jesse Benton's email was a concession speech-- not to us but to Romney. After the last weekend's insanity in OK and AZ it is apparent that the Old Guard GOP and New Blood can not co-habitate. There may be some stealth to this but I really think that the campaign is worried that our delegates could get nullified and Ron excluded from the ballot due to neocon trickery.

Jesse Benton and the campaign now want the "public" to think that this is only about a movement and that Ron just wants a chance to be included at the convention. This is all about getting the RNC and Romney supporters to capitulate and be more accepting to our delegates.

Now, do Jesse and Ron, et all, believe that we really may get enough delegates to win? I don't know. I don't even know if they are hoping for that anymore. All we can do is trudge on and hope that this is all just a giant smokescreen that will ensure we are at least on the ballot in Tampa.

The campaign flinched and Dr. Paul is going to the front line to sort this out. If he doesn't this will get real intense and hit a boiling point if it hasn't already.

I don't know any Paul supporters who will stand down. I would personally relish a street brawl. How sweet would it be to punch the "smug" off a Romney supporter's face? Extremely sweet.

But that is not the answer. Calm, cool, collected, determined will win the day. The campaign is seeing something coming on the horizon. We have finally hit the GOP's core and it has A LOT of power.

A fool runs his army head-on into a stronger opponent entrenched in a defensive position. This is a strategic retreat, they are looking for a new flank.

Funny how obvious all the trolls just bacame

As someone who has only 3 comments on this site, I have been called a troll... However the last 24 hours have been funny. To anyone even slightly observant yesterdays statement is just more of the same. CONCENTRATE ON DELEGATES... ON TAMPA... ON THE MOVEMENT.

Who out there thought we could compete in an ad campaign in California (My home) against Romney? HE JUST PROMISED $2+ TRILLION ON MILITARY SPENDING. Think he doesn't have money to spend on the sheeple?

What really happened yesterday is we got another glimpse of how scarred the establishment is- So desperate they would plant fools & trolls to try and sway the weak. TO THAT I SAY- NOT GOING TO HAPPEN & IS THAT THE BEST YOU GOT?

Dr Paul knows what he is doing.

“Life is all about timing... the unreachable becomes reachable, the unavailable become available, the unattainable... attainable. Have the patience, wait it out It's all about timing.”

“The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once.”

Can We Fire Jesse Benton?

“Unfortunately, barring something very unforeseen, our delegate total will not be strong enough to win the nomination,” campaign chairman Jesse Benton wrote in a strategy memo. “However, our delegates can still make a major impact at the National Convention and beyond.”

Why would he make these comments? Where is this memo?

Ask yourself to whom he is

Ask yourself to whom he is making the comments? Who is the real intended audience?

You're such a kook. Take off the tin foil hat and see reality.

I felt the same way when I

I felt the same way when I read this. He is quite the morale booster, isn't he. He should have been replaced long ago.

If you walk blindly through life, you will run into a lot of walls.

I just don't get this. What

I just don't get this. What makes people think that being at the national convention will do any good? Do they think the media will not ignore that as well? Do they think the media will not mock us, deride us? Will people forget we were there within a week? Will Romney be condescending?

I got the memo.........

in my email.

Will you post it then so we can

read this email from Jesse Benton?

People are spreading

People are spreading misinformation..

For Ron Paul supporters, go out there and clear this up.

A lot of people are having a mockery out of this and saying crap about Ron Paul..all to get people behind the puppet Romney.

I agree, Benton just gave us more unnecessary work.

...Benton needs remedy this publicly. I don't think of as a real firing, just shuffling the deck. Its the only way to really combat the bad press. Change his job title, and give greater scrutiny of press releases. This was TOTALLY UNNECESSARY.

It's akin to firing on our own troops on the beachhead as they are taking fire from the enemy and take the beach. Take the gunner off the gun, and put someone else on. He is getting fatigued.

To be truthful, I don't

To be truthful, I don't understand why the campaign came out with this statement. Even if they would not have enough money going forward, why not still focus on the remaining caucus states or at least Texas and California (and keep quiet to the media about their plan)? This letter will only hamper the efforts of some who feel the campaign has run its course, especially people who were only beginning to perhaps lean Paul's way will now see no point but to support Romney.
