As I reflect on our 2012 Presidential campaign, I am humbled by the supporters who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much. And I am so proud of what we have accomplished. We will not stop until we have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.
This campaign fought hard and won electoral success that the talking heads and pundits never thought possible. But, this campaign is also about more than just the 2012 election. It has been part of a quest I began 40 years ago and that so many have joined. It is about the campaign for Liberty, which has taken a tremendous leap forward in this election and will continue to grow stronger in the future until we finally win.
Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.
Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.
I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved - become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.

I don't know about you
I don't know about you guys/girls but I'm ALL IN with support.
This doesn't phase me at all. It encourages me to support even harder.
In fact I'm donating $$ when I get back home tonight. And I just might ad a second RP bumper sticker on my truck, and this one's gonna say "RON PAUL OR NONE AT ALL"
I agree with others and think that the timing of this news release SUCKS, especially when we were seeing momentum, and knowing the ignorant masses might take this and run with it.
But personally I'm in till the end. I don't care if everyone else shuts the damn lights off and I'm the only one left standing.
Hell, even if RP flat out quit I'll run for POTUS myself.

The anti-Paul crowd was getting ramped up to battle for delegates with the previous strategy. Now we've thrown them off for a few conventions. We'll recover faster because we have a real grass roots campaign of smart and dedicated people.

The timing is highly questionable. Why hurt voter morale for California and Texas by releasing a statement that can be construed as "we're out of the race"? And clearly that's the case because the campaign had to release a follow-up statement saying they're not done. Plus saying stuff like it's "about more than just the 2012 election" does add credence to the "he's not in it to win it" line that the MSM kept repeating. Why feed that monster?

Mind you, Ron Paul and we, his supporters, do not believe American people's tax dollars should be used to support another war. We believe defending our own borders first. Our national interest comes first before any other nation. Also we refuse to hold our nation hostage to a concentrated group who want to control us. We refuse to behold to a foreign power.
You know why Obama and Romney will not get one single vote from any of us? Because they sure will carry on the instructions of the one world government. I am not sure who is behind the one world goverment. Maybe you know. Maybe they are your boss.

Be realistic: RP will not win California and Texas primary. If we pull all our resources and energies into those two primaries, how deflated are we going to be after Romney wins 60% or so of the popular vote just like what he did in the last maybe 10 primaries? Please go check the comments on IN, NC, and WV primaries. After those two big primaries MSM will claim Romney the winner and according to them his delegate count will be at 1500 or so. This will happen no matter what we do or say. Instead of hearing such an announcement then, RP is telling us now to forget the unrealistic hope of winning a primary, and concentrate on what we have been succeeded so far, that is getting the delegates. It's going to be a hard long fight with lots of setbacks. Don't give it up people!!!

I was upset at first of this news...But then began to see the false reports..and it made me just wonder.
While I think..
While I think that he could have emphasised a little more that he's not dropping out of the race, and de-emphasised the primaries by stating that they're meaningless beauty pageants, I have every confidence that Ron, Jesse and the team put every single word into that statement for a reason. They have an entire team working on PR.. I seriously doubt they'd just scribble a statement on a cocktail napkin and throw it at the press.
There will be a reason behind everything, it just might not be obvious right now.

It's not us saying
That the campaign is Suspended. It's every single media outlet spinning it as such. We all know the deal. We know this makes the most sense logically... But people are disappointed with the way this message was delivered. Hindsight is always 20/20 but he should issue another statement immediately stating that " I am NOT suspending my Campaign"

Its time to write the editor..Every day, or every week. Flood the editor of your local news papers with support for Ron Paul, so they never forget for him.
If your in NYC dear God please go do a Blackout Protest in front of those big windows in the morning..you know the ones..right outside of FOX-CBS-NBC-ABC, and do it while the news is going on.
To those in upstate SC. Theres a show that comes on at 10am on channel 7..Jack & Kimberly-Your Carolina..Call, email, ask if you can be on the show. Tell them the topic is the 2012 race. They might just have you on..They where willing when they first started the show.
If you know Romney is going to be in your town...go see him. Without letting him know your a Ron Paul supporter,start asking him questions about where he stands...make sure you video it and put it up for the world to see what a fool he is. Vets should get together and using Paul's words, need to question him on the war.
I would love to see bikers do a cross country Ride For Freedom..enlightening people on the way.
Vets and everyone that can need to march on the state capitols and let them know..no matter what happens..we are not going away.

The campaign is over... The fight is just beginning
Don't be to alarmed folks. I don't think that any of us are in doubt of who we are voting for in the Primary. You can bet that Romney's people are similarly well entrenched. Santorum and Gingrich supporters have had nearly a month to make up their minds who they will vote for in the Primary.
There are no more debates. I can't remember the last time I saw a Paul commercial or a Romney ad. The cards have largely fallen, and all that remains between now and Tampa is the Calendar. Even the delegate strategy has been largely played out. The local district delegates have been chosen... Now all we have to do is show up at the state conventions and win.
An aggressive posture would serve only to galvanize the opposition.
We all joined this fight knowing that a Paul nomination was a long shot, and for my money, the odds of that happening are better today than they have been at any point since the Iowa caucuses.
The man we nominate in Tampa, be we successful, or if we fall short, is largely irrelevant. Do any of you imagine, that had RP won in 2008, that we would have a balanced budget and all of our constitutional freedoms in tact (recall that NDAA passed w/ a veto proof majority). We aren't just trying to change the white house... we are trying to re-make the republican party in the image of liberty. Our aim is to give voters a real choice between the self destructive path of big government, and the prosperous path of freedom.
This is not the hour of our defeat. This is our finest hour. This is the twilight of tyranny.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves
Believe me I want Dr. Paul's ideas to prevail in this country. And it is encouraging that Dr. Paul's support is so strong. However, I don't like saying "we've already won" when we haven't. This country is going to suffer through some very hard times and there's no guarantee how things will play out. We know the establishment is still strong in that they nearly completely blacked out Dr. Paul and still control the money supply and the voting machines. In addition, who knows how they'll try to take control of the internet. If Dr. Paul doesn't win, by the next campaign 4 years from now, the internet might be heavily locked down. There might be a phony "constitutionalist candidate" that throw out there for us (sort of like how they tried having Rick Perry co-opt Dr. Paul's anti-Fed stance but maybe next time they'll have a more convincing version).
Sorry to throw cold water on your optimism but we have a heck of a lot of work still to be done and the outcome is still very much in question.
