Ron Paul on his campaign moving forward: "I will be right there with you"

The media will try to turn this into a "Ron Paul is preparing to drop out" statement. We know this is not true. It is now up to us to keep the Revolution alive. Let's do it!

"As reports come in from around the country, it seems that the "GOP establishment" is reacting to the "Ron Paul Republicans". News reports claims that not only is the Ron Paul delegate strategy working, he may be heading for a brokered convention in Tampa. Delegates may be unbound and able to vote for the candidate of their choice.

That candidate is Ron Paul.

Many Republicans don't like to see so many changes in their party. This is evident by the resistance being seen at every level of the delegate process. In Arizona, on Saturday, the GOP convention had police called as a fight broke out. A Romney supporter allegedly attacked a Ron Paul supporter.

Ron Paul released a statement to his supporters on Monday, surprising many with his announcement. Ron Paul has decided to take the more effective campaigning route and focus his donations less on campaign events. In fact, his last official campaign event was Friday, May 4 and the campaign still won Arizona on this weekend.

2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul issued the following statement to supporters and the general public concerning the continuation of his historic bid for the GOP nomination.

The statement tees up forthcoming information the campaign will release concerning its fruitful delegate-attainment strategy still occurring at delegate-selection events such as state conventions ahead of the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

Below please find comments from Congressman Paul:

“As I reflect on our 2012 Presidential campaign, I am humbled by the supporters who have worked so hard and sacrificed so much. And I am so proud of what we have accomplished. We will not stop until we have restored what once made America the greatest country in human history.

“This campaign fought hard and won electoral success that the talking heads and pundits never thought possible. But, this campaign is also about more than just the 2012 election. It has been part of a quest I began 40 years ago and that so many have joined. It is about the campaign for Liberty, which has taken a tremendous leap forward in this election and will continue to grow stronger in the future until we finally win.

“Our campaign will continue to work in the state convention process. We will continue to take leadership positions, win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future.

“Moving forward, however, we will no longer spend resources campaigning in primaries in states that have not yet voted. Doing so with any hope of success would take many tens of millions of dollars we simply do not have. I encourage all supporters of Liberty to make sure you get to the polls and make your voices heard, particularly in the local, state, and Congressional elections, where so many defenders of Freedom are fighting and need your support.

“I hope all supporters of Liberty will remain deeply involved - become delegates, win office, and take leadership positions. I will be right there with you. In the coming days, my campaign leadership will lay out to you our delegate strategy and what you can do to help, so please stay tuned.

For Liberty,

Ron Paul.”
Ron Paul is still in the race. He is now relying on his supporters and their passion for liberty. Will you be heard?

This will Backfire on them

To arms! To arms! The Redcoats are coming!

I believe in Ron Paul...he is not misleading us or them....

we are going to catch everyone off guard.....nobody likes Romney....

interesting that as soon as we got to the needed FIVE states...he is re-directing the energy...

I THINK IT IS GOING TO BECOME STARKLY AND IMMEDIATELY clear to the GOP that ROMNEY IS A LOSER!!!! This will help us in the convention now that there is less background noise....the Repubs are going to ruminate on how much they hate Romney! Let's CELEBRATE instead of crying.

Well it might not happen quite like that for the Media

However, I'm sure it will backfire negatively and massively on attendance by Romney micksters not going to convention, because they're not getting paid to, because it's not conventient when Mitt's "the only candidate". Besides, wasn't this their mentality since 2008 anyways? That Paul's not even in the race? They're trying to activate their base, and this happens? This DEACTIVATES their base! This is a hat trick to hamper the Romney campaign efforts. And they'll believe it because Politico, Fox, CNN, MSNBC said so. And they *must* be right.

stoking the fires of Liberty

self determination --you in or out?

"I will be right there with you"

Actually this statement bugs me. In reality the campaign hasn't really been there except in the speech/motivation aspect.

The campaign never called out the BS vote rigging,

never nailed the RNC on rule 11,

never really stuck it to Mitt with hard hitting commercials,

never challenged Mitt to a debate,

Never called out the shenanigans in places like Maine, Washington, and NV

I mean two things we need to be real about and I stated this in another thread, this movement is not about Ron Paul any longer, it is about an idea. We need to take the party over state by state. Not for Ron Paul, but for our children.

Also make no mistake, this is Ron Paul's way of "suspending" his campaign. That's fine, I will still never vote for Romney, I will write Ron's name in, however, I will not donate to the campaign any longer, just to liberty pacs and movements promoting the continual cause.

best post I've read all day!

Primaries have little to do with DELEGATES!

Keep the money in caucii and conventions!!!

The campaign works against itself

The campaign has got Ross Perot Disease, they see they can win and it scares them... to bad I thought Paul had balls.

You could have just done what you are planning to do without issuing a nationwide press release, broadcasting to our opponents that you are (effectively, though not technically) suspending the campaign, cutting the legs out from the grassroots who will be slogging it out at conventions and giving aid and comfort to the other side.

Yes, I know it's about Rand. However, JESSE, you could have done this and just kept your BIG MOUTH SHUT.

Why do you ACTIVELY seek to cut the legs out from your MOST DEDICATED supporters, not the wild hair libertarians, but the ones who slog it out all the way to state conventions and who are running for party offices?

Thanks alot (Thanks for nothing, Jesse!)

This PR stunt was absolutely NOT REQUIRED. You could have accomplished the SAME GOAL and just kept your MOUTH SHUT.

But no, you want to make it as hard on us as possible, don't you?

Cutting and pasting the same comment...

...over and over
could be considered trolling. Bitchin' about this does nothing - you are not the campaign and can't pre-judge decisions. This is a fight for Liberty and the opposition are digging in hard

Have you EVER

thought that this could be part of the strategy? Come on, we need to trust the campaign - not fight them. This is the r3VOLution we're talking about here - you think it will be "business as usual"? Of course not.

(Not saying this is the strategy...) What if the media interpret this as Ron Paul dropping out (which they are doing) - would Romney people feel compelled to go to their state conventions? Would Ron Paul people still go? You see what I'm saying?

Trust, but verify --> Trust, but keep fighting to win!
