"RP Out" is Genius Delegate Strategy

Obviously not enough showed up to stop the Liberty Express there and even fewer will show up now since the MSM talking point is that RP is out which means there's no longer a threat so no need for the GOP regulars to even show up for their state conventions.
Meanwhile, the effort that went into phonebanking, campaign stops, etc. will now be solely concentrated into packing state conventions with delegates.
Romney has 100 state convention attendees? We'll have 1000 and completely take over the State GOP going forward.
This is using the MSM blackout to our advantage!

For all the doubters out there, consider the costs of state conventions.
First you have the $30-60 to attend as a state delegate, then you have the cost of commute (which often requires taking a day off), and finally you have to factor in food and lodging.
Without RP as a perceived threat, how many GOP "Q-tips" are going to pony up the $300-500 to attend?
I'm now really excited to attend our own state convention!

Intended "Grand Strategy" or not
Whether this is an intended "Grand Strategy" or not it's an opportunity our local RP groups will be seizing to transform our RP supporter groups into Liberty Caucuses within the GOP which will be much easier to do with this strategy since we'll be more likely to have friends up top in our State and National GOP.

While I understand where you guys are coming from, people not knowing that Ron is still running is not a positive thing.
Don't you all remember that just yesterday, we were complaining about the media ignoring Ron Paul and giving the impression that Romney was the only one left in the race?
If this is such a "good thing" shouldn't we be thanking the Mainstream Media for acting as if he isn't running?
This reminds me of the broken window fallacy.
You are focusing on what is seen, and not what is unseen.
You see that it might make some Romney supporters let down their guard, but you aren't seeing all the Ron Paul supporters or possible future supporters that don't think he is running, and won't work as hard to get him elected if they weren't under that impression.
This is a mistake and not some purposeful grand strategy, to spin it as such we are being dishonest with ourselves.
We need to make people aware he is still running, not encourage ignorance.

For five years I have defended Ron Paul supporters against media caricatures. Yet threads like this prove they exist. For such people, nothing is ever a stupid campaign move. It's always secretly a "brilliant strategy"! We lesser men cannot know all the wondrous workings of John Tate's mind! He and Jesse are taking us to victory!
People, you have no idea what is going on in the campaign. I assure you, this is not some "grand strategy." It is delusional beyond all measure to pretend such a thing.
We love Ron Paul, but the neocons around him never lifted a finger to explain or defend his foreign policy, which they hate (I mean, Trygve Olson, "regime change" specialist? What is HE doing in the campaign?); they want jobs within the GOP machine; they are trying to get Ron to endorse Romney in order to help Rand.
It's all about Rand. All the "play nice at the state conventions," the "we love the RNC chair," the fundraising even after they've stopped contesting primaries. It's all for Rand. These people could not care less about, and in fact loathe, Dr. Paul's key issues.
I guarantee you I will be proven right, and yet never in my life have I wished harder that I was wrong.

I tend to agree with you. The campaign team itself has been practically a stranger to the movement.
However this is an entirely different issue. The media's reporting will lax the RNC. It's a given. I'm not sure you realize how badly the other candidates' delegates are panicking. you'll see that the poster outlines how they got ONE position. This isn't just hearsay, this is from the opposition. How hard will it be for them to get Romney supporters to sign up NOW, when he's de facto nominee with no opposition as reported by the media? They'll have a worse amount of trouble than us by far.

If this is for real it's smart. I don't think he would pull the plug and walk, that would kill Rand's future. Fox made it sound like RP is done. PBS said he has "effectively ended his campaign". I lean towards the post by Idea Factory.

I don't think this is any kind of strategy.
GOP will say Dr. Paul is out and point to his press release. Then the corporate media will tell us his ardent supporters are highjacking the election. They'll find a way to prevent delegates.
If you don't think that's what will happen, you are naive.
If Dr. Paul isn't planning to exit the race, this press release was a huge mistake. But I think we need to focus our energy on the delegates, get them to Tampa and organize for the future.
That said, I'm not sending anymore money to the campaign to pay for their salaries. When they've been doing such a poor job as campaigns go.

The problem with this "brilliant" strategy is it will hurt Ron's vote totals in the remaining states as people (maybe less ardent supporters) don't bother voting for him thinking his campaign is dead.

There was never going to be enough of a turnout
Face it, the primary wins were never going to happen at this point, just look at how they took away the Virgin Islands win of all things.
Don't need state voting turnout only delegate turnout at the state convention.
Besides, you're forgetting that the MSM was beginning to run stories warning about the delegate strategy and now this puts all that concern by rank and file GOP to rest.

I've already had tons of emails from people who say without Ron on the ballot, they won't vote. Of course, I gave them the right info.
I'm sure there are many who won't find out he's still running, so they won't go to the polls, they won't vote and they wont get involved. This was a HUGE mistake.

There is such a strange and intracate web that brings all supporters together, it is the internet surely, but there is too the interest and motivation to keep in touch, to research and share the truth. This is an 'underground' community, we are the thing that is rumbling underneath, and there is no way to untangle the web. Dr. Paul will do what is right. We know what we're doing and we will continue to do it. We are stepping into the mouth of the beast, getting inside it. With every elected position we get comes another part of a new foundation. This race is won with delegates, that is what matters and we all know it. Any true supporter understands what Dr. Paul is doing, and what we need to do as well.

This is nothing new and no need to cause for worry. The strategy has ALWAYS been to focus on the caucuses and picking up delegates at the conventions. All the remaining states are Primaries, so naturally they won't be wasting money campaigning there. Instead, we'll be focusing on racking up delegates. IT'S GENIUS!
