The campaign is sending mixed messages...I think

I read the email, I've read and heard Doug and Jack, I get that the media still doesn't get it, I get that the remaining energy and resources are being devoted to Tampa...but I'm still a bit confused.

In particular, the Politco article. The campaign is concerned with mayhem at the state conventions. So do they NOT want us to continue? What is the goal if not gaining as many delegates as possible to take control in Tampa?

I'm in Michigan, where we are not expected to take many delegates this weekend, but will do our part with class, 100%. In our state delegates for this convention were selected 2 years ago ( another thing we are working to change). We do have long term goals here, but will give it our best to represent in Tampa, and many will travel there regardless of the outcome.

I would like some clarity, of course I do not expect of phone call from Lake Jackson, but a goal to attain that is realistic would be nice. I have heard rumors of a Treasury position ( meaning the head of it) I guess time will tell, in the mean time...we march on with our torch of liberty.

I'll stand by Dr. Paul, staff and all of you no matter what.

none comes from media

The media is reporting "facts" based on the incredibly inept and plainly stupid stuff coming out of the campaign, out of "Lake Jackson" if you will.

It's the campaign shooting themselves and every one of their supporters in the gut, not the media.

Not A Mixed Message

The message was obviously carefully worded.

It was an attempt to let you down easy.

You've always known that you have to claim your own rights. Ron Paul has done his part, and lit the brush fire of freedom awareness. It's up to us to continue.

If you need a leader, the fight was lost before it began.

this is true

but it's not the way all people think.

What is really dumb is the way the campaign is doing this; there is no explanation except that they are numbskulls.

There's nothing "carefully worded"...it's stupid and insulting stuff coming from the campaign.

couldn't care less for what

couldn't care less for what the campaign wants at this point, after all the " it's a marathon, not a sprint " talk, wanting to lay low now is laughable to say the least, and besides i had the impression this was about liberty and making way for a better future, not for ron paul's personal legacy of honor and respect - just do what you have to do in the campaigns regardless of how your perceived... let's get our 70 y-old s kicking romney's supporters heads ffs!

Ron Paul is going to be president whether he likes it or not!

???

Do you find Politco honest or trustworthy?

Drudge and ibtimes also cried REP quit.

I have found Doug and Jack to be straight shooters.

We better get our sh!t together and get this rumor mill under control

Free includes debt-free!

Politco was quoting Jesse Benton

You have to question when they quote people.

"No army can stop an idea whose time has come"

per your comment about Treasury

would anyone vote for Romney even if Dr Paul was on this staff or even Rand Paul ? I for one will not vote for a president Romney - period.
I wonder if the Paul campaign knows that there has been a pretty clear consensus that we are not going to vote for Romney - even if Ron Paul endorsed him or was on his staff. (I really find it hard to believe that RP would endorse the guy and much less want to work with him in this capacity) but for the sake of staying consistent with everything today - this is more mixed messages - I don't know - does anybody?

I would gag on my own vomit

I keep forgetting that this man is 76, and should be enjoying his calm years...now I have him the head of the Treasury.

"No army can stop an idea whose time has come"

I didn't like the tone of the

I didn't like the tone of the new announcement. However, I was thinking it may turn out well and perhaps was even a strategic move? Maybe now the the MSM has completely disregarded RP and announced to everyone that Mitt has no contenders...perhaps the rank and file Republicans and neocons will get more apathetic and just stay home. After all, they don't need to go to the polls if Mitt is running uncontested, right? Wrong, because the RP campaign then told us to proceed as usual. We are all in the know and will continue on and hopefully show up in numbers while our apathetic neocons will stay home.

Wise Move Strategically but Public Relations Disaster

This new change of tactics by the Ron Paul campaign is a wise move strategically because it will use scarce resources where they will be most effective. But by announcing the change, it is a public relations and motivational disaster. They should have just quietly changed tactics and not have announced it with an admission that they didn't have enough funds to continue campaigning in primary states. You can't show your opposition this sign of weakness and expect them not to use it against you and exploit it. Sad to see.

Well said

I would like to think the announcement itself is part of a strategy (perhaps to feed MSM stories that will depress Romney turnout) but in truth it is probably a rookie mistake ("they're going to find out anyway, we should just announce it so we control the message!").

yes - well said

I agree - very good.
perhaps the Paul camp thinks now that people think he has dropped out the Romney folks won't bother going to vote .... only problem with that is you will still see him get %65 ... because it has been fixed for a while now.... sure would like to hear clarity on all of this from RP himself.

I was curious as to why on the day of his home state primary

strange day to do this...

"No army can stop an idea whose time has come"

Very good post

which is why my posts will have a mixed message sound to them.
I don't think anyone really knows what is going on.
Or does someone?
Well done - good post - I agree.

thanks for the compliment

but I wish I knew more..either way, we're having fun

"No army can stop an idea whose time has come"

I'm confused also

I was fine until I read the politico article. http://www.dailypaul.com/233442/jess-benton-to-politico-paul...

That article doesn't fit the Jack Hunter/Doug Wead Narrative.

Maybe it's strategy on Benton's part. Like someone else here said; "strategic retreat"

I think it's definitely money related. He has been asking for $$ to continue. It hasn't materialized.

I bet strategy would change again quickly if he received several million from grassroots quickly!

Mixed Messages

Mixed messages is putting it mildly.

thanks for your great work. I'd like to see

the Campaign put out a dynamite video clarifying their intent to win and firing up the troops that have been discouraged by all of the confused messages today.
