- He bought gold at $35/oz and didn't tell people they were idiots when they didn't buy.

- He humbly told the same message over and over again without offending anyone for 40 years. He would not force his ideas least he be like his opponents.

- He exercised and ate well daily because he wasn't focused on his daily health but his health for a time when he would need all of his strength.

- His passion never openly turned to wrath because he knew he would need to have others follow his lead. A hateful, angry leader cannot expect to lead.

- He has been marginlized for years and his ideas have been scoffed at, but he kept his cool and realized he was not ready.

- He never booed his opponents to their faces.

- He is unselfish and wasn't fighting for his own freedom but for the freedom of others.

My questions to us:

- They hate us, but will we be hateful?

- They boo him, but should we boo them?

- Are we fighting for our own freedom or for those who have not yet understood they have none? Hostile takeovers never are long-term, but only infuriate the opposition.

- Will we act or will we consistently react?

- Will we run for office at all levels of government just as Ron Paul did for the highest office in the land? Are you serious enough to make a real effort? I did in 2010 and, with Alex Snitker, started www.libertytakover2012.com

- Will you participate in your power centers (see www.freedomforceinternational.org about An Idea Whose Time Has Come) to lead and influence, or are you too impatient and constantly offend them so you have no leadership or influence?

- Are you willing to ruin a legacy for a moment of vengence or anger or words that are hateful? To be honest, sometime I have been, and that is a tragic reality; but I hope together we can move to a less hostile place to win the hearts of people.

This is Ron Paul's revolution and the steps he has taken in the last 5 years (starting in 2007) are nothing compared to the endurance he has needed during the previous 35 years. He never was running a sprint and the marathon isn't nearly over, perhaps it will never be as life is about transitions.

Liberty is not passed on through the genetic code nor through bloodstreams. It is the amazing elixer that captures the heart first, and then moves to the mind with a hope to be propagated, flourished in the body and world around us. Let us live as if we are free so that those who we would lead and influence will be ready to follow. Collectivists will rule the day if we offend, for they will convince the masses of our hatred or they will encourage the frustration of those who lost positions of power, but individuals will stand if we respond with patience and consistency.

We can choose to follow the lead of a man who lead by example - or the heart of those who haven't yet had the opportunity to lead in such a significant way. I count myself among the latter and hope you will join me as we prepare to be leaders and influencers while watching our mentor do things with excellence as he always has.

In Liberty,
Francisco "Cico" Rodriguez

Sorry..

Being respectful and not hateful should not be confused with sitting down and shutting up while the establishment cheats and manipulates. Sitting down and shutting up is what too many people have done for too long and why our country is almost finished. Ron Paul didn't sit down and shutup, he stood up and spoke truth to power any place and with anyone that would listen and to plenty of people who didn't want to hear it.

This is not ron paul's revolution.. this is a liberty movement that will continue without ron paul if needed... the way he wanted it all along and the way I would want it (as i'm sure most of you would as well) if I were in his shoes.

Exactly...

"Being respectful and not hateful should not be confused with sitting down and shutting up while the establishment cheats and manipulates."

Thus calls by the campaign for us to be respectful should not be mistaken for calls for us to sit down and shut up, should they? ; )

"Alas! I believe in the virtue of birds. And it only takes a feather for me to die laughing."

Not true completely

I HAVE TO STEP UP HERE BECAUSE THERE ARE SOME MISINFORMED CLAIMS! Obviously you guys havent seen the video of Paul on an old TV show with the guy smoking. I may have to search for it. He went nuts... he did that OFTEN. PAul is not Fucking Gandhi. So here are my corrections. You can either take them or live in a false reality. We have some people on here who think of Ron Paul as a peace nut. He is not. He'll shoot your face off if he needs to in protection of peace, but he will not do so if it can be avoided.

CLAIM:
- He bought gold at $35/oz and didn't tell people they were idiots when they didn't buy.

TRUTH: Any time a person says a person should do something they are saying that the person is either stupid, naive, crazy, loaded with normalcy bias, has pride issues or likes to fail. He has done so for 40+years

CLAIM:
- He humbly told the same message over and over again without offending anyone for 40 years. He would not force his ideas least he be like his opponents.

TRUTH: He may have said it calmly, but not humbly. Humble means you do not recognize the worth of your words or correctness of your statement. He has offended MILLIONS along the way and still stayed strong. And if you have to force freedom on somebody then you are simply liberating yourself from a person attempting to be a slave like master.

CLAIM:
- He exercised and ate well daily because he wasn't focused on his daily health but his health for a time when he would need all of his strength.
TRUTH: What the hell? "Wasn't focused on his daily health?" If he wasn't focused on his daily health he would not be healthy. This claim is nonsense.

CLAIM:
- His passion never openly turned to wrath because he knew he would need to have others follow his lead. A hateful, angry leader cannot expect to lead.
TRUTH: You obviously have not seen him in his younger days. He's just old and tired now... but like a tame dragon.

CLAIM:
- He has been marginlized for years and his ideas have been scoffed at, but he kept his cool and realized he was not ready.
TRUTH:
the people were not prepared to accept the truth. He was ready all along. Our parents were simply crazy stupid!

CLAIM:
- He never booed his opponents to their faces.
TRUTH:
Every contrary remark is a boo.

CLAIM:
- He is unselfish and wasn't fighting for his own freedom but for the freedom of others.
TRUTH:
HE WAS FIGHTING FOR HIS OWN FREEDOM AND EVERYONE ELSE'S AS ONE!

really I understand the writer's meaning, but the fact somebody decided to make this it's own post is sickening. Adam Kokesh would have a thing or two to say about the lack of congruency in these statements.

Warning my comments may anger a lot of highly educated people who have been taught a lie

Boo!

to your comment...D.D...and excellent post dfw!

Some lead by inspirational example; then there

are others such as yourself who can have no real following so long as your choice is to focus on nitpicking negatives.

Aggressively defending one's rights is not hostility.

The movement can enter the process civil, respectful and focused, but when the establishment tries to cheat, lie and steal the conventions from the people, then those involved have every right to do what is necessary as long as they do not violate the rules themselves or anyone elses rights in the process. Hell that's the heart of the Ron Paul message.

The voices must speak up, loud, clear and repeatedly. That's not being hostile, it's defending our rights, something that is deeply embedded in Ron Paul's message: don't be the aggressor but don't be a pacifist either.

If in the course of defending our rights, harsh words are used, then again that's at the heart of the Ron Paul message: the first amendment wasn't written so we can talk about the weather. It was writting to protect the unpopular speech.

It's time for liberty in this country YESTERDAY! Not tomorrow. I applaud all those that are so informed, so motivated, so dedicated to do whatever it takes to make a difference.

Fine line at times

Careful with the "end justifies the means". I get more pissed at Paul supporters that are as or more uncivil has the opponents.

Ron Paul 2012; Rand Paul 2016

Do we really understand?

When I first encountered Ron on C-Span back in the 90's, I couldn't believe I was hearing a man that had the same philosophy as I did. I started reading the congressional record to find out about Ron. Ron's record amazed me. I was hooked on his unwavering dedication to his fellow man and God. I knew I found the a true patriot. A maker, not a taker.

I was always considered a little out there to my family members. My family is mostly staunch conservatives (dare I say Neo-Con) on my Dad's side, and mostly flaming liberal on my Mom's side. An interesting mix.

Taking Ron's lead, I kept up with current events, economics, and law. I started reading SCOTUS cases to better understand the current state of the law. I then went to State SC cases, and what I found was disturbing and stealth. I of course kept up with Ron's statements.

Throughout the years, my family would often think I was way out there with my interpretation of Government. I would often sit back and listen at family get togethers. My family would then ask how felt about the issues that impact our world. My view was always considered fringe. Not any more. My family now asks my opinion very often, and even admit my view is very sound, and their past views were flawed. This is mainly because of predictions well in advance (3-5 years) of things that would come to pass. Things like the Patriot Act, NDAA, Economic Collapse and the like.

I assure all here at the DP that Ron Paul sees a much bigger picture. Ron understands a great deal, and the establishment knows Ron is correct. They (the leaders) also know the policy and platform of both parties is a failed policy. They also know the sinking ship has only a few life rafts and they will be on them. The rest can find a floating log or sink.

Ron, I believe is trying to lead us in the direction of education and action, while maintaining integrity. There will be a few eggs break, but I am sure he would prefer to see the eggs hatch instead.

God gave us two ears and one mouth. Use them proportionately. Asking questions and then letting the other side answer in detail without interruption will do more than rudely badgering. "Tell me more" is always a good follow up, letting the other side speak their minds. Their own words will give you a wealth of information you can then use to better combat their failed policies. A star Salesman comes to mind. Always listen more than you talk, and make your words count in prolific, short replies. I know it is easier said than done, but make it a goal, being mindful of your words.

Please remember that Ron's integrity is directly connected to his Delegates.

Let me also say this. I am so very proud of the Delegates. This is a Marathon not a sprint. You all have such immense courage! You are the reason we can bring OUR MESSAGE to the masses.

Remember, with Freedom comes Responsibility. Let it not be said we were tyrants. Let history be kind to us and let our children remember a kind, loving, benevolent group securing liberty for their posterity.

In Liberty

p.s. I posted a suggestion that we at the DP should have a Delegate Money Bomb to relieve the burden of expenses. I suspect many Delegates are stressing over housing and travel expenses. Some may not even show up at State Conventions from lack of resources. We should relieve that burden to make sure we are represented.

Excellent Post!

Thank you for your thoughts. I've been using one mouth and one ear but I'll try for two ears.

It is my hope we all do

The world would be a much better place.

Get over hate

Hate is a word I have been able to remove from my vocabulary because it is not something that uplifts and becomes positive. I can agree with many in their plight to become what they want to become. I can respectfully disagree with those who I see as being mislead in their ideas. Like Ron Paul I could like Mitt Romney as a person and if I had a son who stood up for me like his have for him I would say I was a blessed person. Some hatefully disagree with Romney's religious convictions. I don't because this is one subject where he doesn't change his opinion and this religion has a lot of truth and good to offer anyone. We here don't agree with him on most all his political opinions, however we shouldn't hate because like some others he might change one day and agree with us.
I think, like Ron Paul, the best way to influence others is through our example. As Albert Schweitzer said "Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing." and Gandhi said "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." I have been in this fight for liberty and freedom longer than most simply because I started before others, notwithstanding I will continue until I can't. I want Romney to have as much freedom as myself and anyone else. So how could I hate him or anyone.

Matthew Chapter Five comes to mind.

Well said

Answering one of your questions

"They hate us, but will we be hateful?"

Careful with abstract plural, "they", which is nobody, same as "society." The favorite trick of progressives. "We" also pigeon holes free people into a collective. But that is minor.

RP supporters come from all walks of life. A considerable number among us are true haters - angry, close-minded people with low tolerance.

For example, some are open anti-Semites, others are army veterans who helped the big government grow and now joined RP movement because RP had promised to take care of them, and some are former progressives who are really nasty and prefer name calling over debating ideas. The amount of hate projected from those RP supporters had turned off thousands of potential supporters from day one and continues turning people off day after day if you look at some of their crazy posting in the media.

Yes, they may be 20% or so, but they have made their lasting impact. Since we are low on numbers and value every vote, few of us had the guts to stand up against the haters in our own camp.

reply

If you're going to tell people to be careful when using the word "we", then I should also tell you to be careful when using the term "Anti-Semite", as it doesn't mean what you and many others seem to think it means.

The "haters"? Is that like the "trolls" who dare disagree with anyone on any given subject? This line of thought seems to be contrary to the first part of your post, where you warn against lumping people into a collective.

Also, I'd be interested in knowing where you pulled that 20% figure from...even though I already have a fairly good guess.

And, not sure if you've noticed, but there are "haters" in every group, and from what I've seen over the past decade or so, most of the 'hate' is directed *toward* RP supporters, rather than coming from RP supporters.

A signature used to be here!

FYI

Liberty_First has been confirmed a while back ago as CNN reporter/Gloria Borger. Remember her interview with Paul? She wasn't nice to him, nor does she like any of us. She is on here to cause division.

For the record

Thank you for reply. For the record, I want readers to translate my usage of "anti-Semite" exactly as it is defined in UK and US dictionaries. "Semite" and "anti-Semite" have different meaning. All linguistic discussion and objection to this should be sent to English department at Oxford.

20% is my personal observation looking at comments in yahoo, youtube and other sites - 1 out of 5, on average, either does nasty name calling and avoids discussion or uses hateful language.

Your other two paragraphs are diversion from the issue at hand in my opinion.

It only takes a spark, remember, to set off a forest fire.

A careless or wrongly placed word out of your mouth can do that. By our speech we can ruin the world, turn harmony to chaos, throw mud on a reputation, send the whole world up in smoke and go up in smoke with it, smoke right from the pit of hell.

This is scary: You can tame a tiger, but you can't tame a tongue—it's never been done. The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth!

My friends, this can't go on. A spring doesn't gush fresh water one day and brackish the next, does it? Apple trees don't bear strawberries, do they? Raspberry bushes don't bear apples, do they? You're not going to dip into a polluted mud hole and get a cup of clear, cool water, are you?

James 3:5-12, MSG

I suppose being careful of what we say and mindful of how what we say could affect others is not something bad or dangerous thing to do.

Ron Paul

himself would be proud of that post.

"I am convinced that there are more threats to American liberty within the 10-mile radius of my office on Capitol Hill than there are on the rest of the globe." - Ron Paul

Super post.

It is hard to harness our passion for the message and pursuit of liberty into something cool, calm and collected. That is exactly what Dr. Paul has done and I, for one, am going to try to follow his lead.

~Your perception becomes your reality~

You can't take it personal

Very good topic for a thread. You can't take the offense as a personal one. There are many reasons we are resisted. Some do it for what they feel are noble purposes. They've bought the lie that if Ron Paul were elected, crack cocaine would be flowing in the streets and, just because it is available, all of our neighbors and colleagues will be shooting up heroin. They've also believed that if we don't keep all of our troops around the world, that planes will be crashing into our buildings every day.

A lot of folks are just afraid, and thought that the way to hold to the "principles" the Party was to squeeze as tight as possible. So do we do the same? Remember that story we learned as kids about the sun and the wind arguing about who could get the man to take off his coat first? Ultimately, it was the warm sunshine that prevailed over the force of the wind. I had to applaud our team in Alaska for how they handled the crisis that emerged just prior to the convention. Those of us in other states could probably learn a few things about how to handle a potential shutout.
