Breakfast at Bernie's
Submitted by SteveMartin on Tue, 05/15/2012 - 15:33Seems to me there was a major turning point which took place on the morning Ron Paul had breakfast with Ben Bernanke. The campaign website scrubbed future events shortly after that, and then the mood turned to blaming us for the rudeness of the Romneybots.
While we may never know what happened during that little tete a tete, I think it is safe to assume it was NOT good for the cause of liberty.
Doug Wead waxed eloquently on Natural News Radio this morning (5/15) about the "buoyancy of the campaign" having to do with the likelihood of a Rand Paul presidential run in 2016. While Rand is the best we have in the Senate, he has drunk deeply from the neocon foreign policy Kool-aide jug, and can not possibly unite as many people behind him as his father has.
I wonder if we could get a FOIA request to reveal details of how the meeting was set up, and what was said, because it obviously (to me at least ) has had a huge impact on the future of not only the "REVOLUTION" but our country.

Honestly though...The Fed breakfast, all the weird campaign stuff right as we win AZ and OK...Unexpectedly!! And today there are bank runs in Greece. Silver and Gold are crashing (http://www.kitco.com/charts/livesilver.html), JPMorgan and their losses on Friday with emergency meetings..... Somethings up. Something big. Freak we may not even make it to the election, as "they" may have "other" plans.
We all know this movement isn't about Ron.
Those in power don't.
Its about US, our Children, our Liberties, our Constitution, our Country and our God. May we all be one in all we do. May we all ask the Lord for His help/blessing with our attempts to save our freedoms that He has given us, all the while remembering to ask for forgiveness for the mistakes we make. It is in God we trust! (NOT THE FED) With His help, no matter which one of us they take out, there will always be another standing to carry the Constitution of Freedom and Liberty to Victory!!!!

Nah, I don't buy it
Paul has met with every chairman of the Fed since he's been in office, only to proceed right along with vehement criticism of the Fed. I remember Paul saying years ago that he'd never met one on one with Bernanke, and he'd welcome the opportunity. There's nothing suspicious here, political enemies DO talk with one another, they like to size each other up. Plus, they can me more honest one on one (that goes for Bernanke anyway), when the cameras are absent.

Right, so I'm to take your hunch as evidence that Paul has been threatened with death and therefore made some super-secret deal with Bernanke? Remove the tinfoil hat, it's cutting off circulation to your brain.

,that, this "thing" "happened" prior to that breakfast. In such a case of something "happening", the actual breakfast was a necessary media op.

Assume?
When "it is safe to assume" why is the first assumption by a large number of people here always seems to be "NOT good"?
I mean what if Dr Paul was correct when he said Greenspan is coming back to his original position on gold, and may soon publish a new book on the subject? What if Dr Paul's assumptions are correct and the Federal Reserve really does now own all the gold in Ft Knox, if not a size-able portion of the worlds total gold supply? What if Bernanke thinks Dr Paul's idea about legalizing gold as a legal tender alternative to the Federal Reserve Note, may not be a completely terrible idea, considering Ben's Fed owns most if not all of the gold? What if Ben, in order to save the Fed's future and his own, is exploring the possibilities of some new ideas to try out, and just wanted feedback and input from someone that he knows for certain is not just another yes man? What if Ben just wanted an opportunity to ask Ron off the record "Ron, why do you hate me so"?
My point is, not every safe assumption has to be a nefarious conspiracy.
Then we wouldn't be scaling back the campaign
...right now, IMHO.
I do not believe we would have cancelled our campaign appearances and jumped on supporters for being "disrespectful" if anything like you suggested had come from this meeting...again JMHO.

After what happened in Az and Ok
After you witnessed what happened in Az and Ok with our people getting assaulted by Romney supporters, am I the only one who knew right then and there that this announcement was coming this week? Anyone who knows Dr Paul knows how he is. He loves his supporters like they are family. He is not the kind of man who will sit back and watch frustrations and tensions reach the boiling-point of uncivilized behavior and physical violence at the hands of our opposition. Our opponents turned out in force to halt "the Ron Paul threat". Had the campaign made this announcement a week ago, after West Virginia and North Carolina, there wouldn't have been a perception of a "threat" to prevent, our opponents wouldn't have turned out in such numbers and we probably wouldve swept Az and Ok total delegates out-right without controversy or conflict.
Arizona and Oklahoma this past weekend was more of a factor than anything that occurred at breakfast with Ben 3 weeks ago. JMHO

The organization is already in place. The train has left the station. We can finish this and nominate a liberty candidate, with or without the blessing of the campaign! And I'm sure that Dr. Paul is hoping that we do exactly that.
