MEMO to Campaign: Our plea to Ron Paul and the whole campaign.

Dear Ron Paul Campaign,

One year ago Ron Paul announced he will be running in the Republican race for President of the United States. From day one I remember how so many of us 2008 folks were so excited at the idea that we have a second chance to make Ron Paul not just the President but OUR president.

Without mincing words this was always the primary goal of the entire campaign, a Ron Paul Presidency. Many times Ron Paul even stated this as his objective. We, the grassroots, excited over the prospect that hey, we can have someone in the office that represents us believed, with zealous passion that this was exactly what this campaign was about and we wanted absolutely nothing less than that.

So we fought, we fought hard, we fought until our final breath. We sacrificed everything we had. Our time, our money. We gave until it hurt, and then gave until it really hurt, and then even gave beyond that. Many of us, gave beyond our own means and didnt pay bills just to keep the campaign chugging along.

Finally we started to win with the delegate strategy that Ron Paul himself came up with, and swept numerous states. The momentum had shifted we were winning.

Then more news came out. We discovered that all delegates were unbound, essentially meaning in short: It is a near impossibility for Mitt Romney to win, and it is a near impossibility for Ron Paul to lose.

We had done it. Ron Paul would win the presidency without an iota of a doubt. We celebrate. We cheered. We were friggin ecstatic, all because we knew we had the establishment by the balls. They knew it and we knew it. We had conquered them. The war was finally ending with the last battle to be fought in Tampa. This battle would end in defeat for the establishment. There is no doubt about it as any grassroots supporter would tell you.

Now with the biggest twist of events in the entire history of the 2008 and 2012 campaign, the campaign itself tells the grassroots supporters and the public by and large that Romney has sealed up the nomination and Ron Paul cant win.

I call betrayal. This is betrayal in its most deepest form. This is when the captain turns on the troops. I dont want to believe it, to even think about it makes my stomach turn.

Why oh why would you say we surrender and admit defeat when you have the enemy running scared and your smack in the middle of finishing them off. Its like playing a fighting came such as Mortal Kombat and the other guy has barely any health left and you have almost your entire bar and you put down the remote control and walk away.

So here is my message to all of you at the campaign plain and simple: DO NOT START WHAT YOU DO NOT INTEND TO FINISH. Finish meaning achieving the goal you set out for: A Ron Paul Presidency.

I think I speak for everyone when I say DONT DRAG US ON A ONE YEAR ESCAPADE, GET OUR HOPES UP, MAKE US SACRIFICE ALL OUR TIME AND MONEY AND THEN BAIL AT THE LAST SECOND.

Because if you do (and you already have), you make a mockery of not only yourself, your movement, and your campaign, but you make a mockery of ALL of us here working to get you elected, Dr. Paul.

Ron, we all love you here so so so very much, please for the love of God, do not betray us and your supporters. Do not tell us you give up on reaching the goal you set out to achieve, to sit in that Oval Office where you deserve to be. What if you had given up on your wife Carol whenever you had a marital problem? I know your stronger than this. Do not give up on your campaign, but even more importantly do not give up on all of us who support you and love you... and there are millions of us all over the globe.

Ron, many of us here are not just crying, but weeping and bawling over the statements made by your campaign over the past few days.

We know you havent ended your campaign, but you gave up, on not just your goal, but all of ours and that goal was to make you the President of the United States of America.

Nothings changed. We still want you there, and you can accomplish this, but only if this is what you desire. It is well withing your grasp.

Ron Paul, from all of us here, and as tears roll down my face, please, please, tell us your sorry about the statements over the past few days and you are really in it to win it.

We love you so so much. Please Ron.... We believe in you. If you want to be President and your to tired to campaign its ok. We will work for you, but just tell us you need a break. We have your back.

Ron... please, please, we are begging you, and we would be more than thrilled if you would accept our invitation, to be President of the United States. Will you please accept it?

"We discovered that all delegates were unbound, essentially meaning in short: It is a near impossibility for Mitt Romney to win, and it is a near impossibility for Ron Paul to lose. We had done it. Ron Paul would win the presidency without an iota of a doubt."

That is complete nonsense. The delegates ARE bound. Ron Paul IS behind in delegates. Those are FACTS. This delusion about the delegates is the single biggest problem in the movement, not anything the campaign has done.

"the campaign itself tells the grassroots supporters and the public by and large that Romney has sealed up the nomination and Ron Paul cant win"

The campaign feels the need to point out REALITY to supporters, because obviously lots are missing it, to the detriment of the movement (which is about MORE than this one election!).

"I call betrayal. This is betrayal in its most deepest form. This is when the captain turns on the troops. I dont want to believe it, to even think about it makes my stomach turn."

No, this is not betrayal, this is you are others not understanding what's going on. The campaign is NOT giving up. They are merely acknowledging reality, and trying to get supporters to acknowledge reality, so that we can press on. With what, you ask? The sole purpose of this campaign was NOT winning the nomination. Taking over the GOP was just as important of a goal. We are STILL doing that. Nothing is over, no one quit.

Its been discussed by Ben

Its been discussed by Ben Swann and the DP community at large that they are not bound. Thats what Rule 38 ad 11 are about. We came to verify this. Those are the facts. This was discussed by Wead and Maddow as well.

No

I'm familiar with the discussions here on the DP about these two rules, and the claim that all delegates are unbound has most certainly NOT been demonstrated.

1. Rule 38 is about the unit rule, which does not apply because no State binds ALL of its delegates - they all have at least 3 unbound delegates, hence they are NOT in violation of the rule.

2. As for Rule 11, that has nothing to do with whether delegates are bound or unbound. Some folks have cooked up this wild-eyed notion that somehow Romney's bound delegates will be unbound because of violations of this rule. That is NOT going to happen. The campaign itself has said that is NOT going to happen.

Now, is that because the campaign is selling out? No! It's because this idea that delegates could be unbound through rule 11 was stupid to begin with.

3. Just using your common sense, WHY would the RNC allow all delegates to be unbound? How does that make any sense when they and the State parties spend thousands of words talking about bound versus unbound delegates? It just makes no sense. OF COURSE there is such a thing as a bound delegate!
