UPDATE: DP comment below:

My brother just returned from the MN Con as a delegate

... He told me that at the breakfast meeting today, he walked over to Ron's bodyguard (as Dr. Paul looked on, smiling), shook his hand and thanked him for taking good care of Dr. Paul throughout the campaign. My bro told him, "I feel like I know you because you've been on almost every photo and video of Dr. Paul's!" The guy was taken aback and didn't know what to say. Probably no one has ever said that to him before.

I told my brother that the guy was one of the babies Dr. Paul delivered.

He was amazed and touched and feels this should be shared with the Paul fans ...

is it just me

or does Ron Paul seem to be in an unusually good mood, he was just glowing, full of joy. Something good is happening

If they ask Ron Paul if he

If they ask Ron Paul if he endorses Romney when his is speaking at a state convention he should say "I'm a candidate for President, and I'll endorse myself thank you very much."

Jeff Johnson Speech (MN Nat'l Committeeman)

Just found this today.

http://youtu.be/a4pIcUMq9Cs

Jeff's speech was really great to hear at the convention. Pretty fair to both sides.

It may be hard for me to vote for the Republican presidential nominee if it isn't Ron Paul (I'll likely write him in) but still a great message to hear at the convention.

California primary

I just sent this video to a friend who just asked me
Who is Ron Paul?
I think he'll be receptive to his message
because he is very concerned about our loss of
liberties.
It amazes me how cut off people have become
from what is really happening in the political]
process.

BMAC

he probably wakes a bunch of

Obamney supporters up at each convention he attends.

Great audio too.

The GOP in Illinois has

The GOP in Illinois has extended the deadline to become a delegate/alternate delegate for the state convention in June. There are still vacancies just waiting to be filled. All that needs to be done is for you to make a phone call and can afford $50. It can all be done from home. A friend recently became an alternate delegate himself only a few days ago. In his county all the delegate spots were full but his county chairman said that a TON of alternate seats were vacant. I have yet to hear of a convention where ALL the delegates showed and no alternates were needed.

If you're in Illinois and want help to become a delegate for Ron Paul, either I or my friend would be more than willing to help. All I need from you is to know what county you live in and I can help you right away.

Say that you wish to talk to someone (in case the person on the phone is just a secretary) about a question you have regarding the state convention this June. Your only real question will be "I live in the Mchenry county and was wondering if there are any vacancies available to become a delegate or alternate delegate for the state convention in June." That's all you should have to do. They'll either tell you yes, no or just alternates. My friend is in Kane county and only alternates were available and his chairman said there were a ton left. So many that they've recently extended the deadline to register. The chairman took his name, address and phone number down and said all he had to do is go to http://ilgopconvention.eventbrite.com/ , pay $50 and print out his registration ticket. He was told he could pay in other ways if he didn't have access to the internet. That was it. All done with a phone call.

Your Chairman is Michael Tryon

Are there any more vacancies in

Cook County? If so, I'd really appreciate more info. Thanks!

Likely vote for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson.

From the article in the West Central Tribune "Ron Paul supporters dominate Minn. GOP convention":
"But even the most fervent Paul fans acknowledged Romney is likely to be President Barack Obama's opponent in November. Sitting in a convention hall festooned with Romney signs on the walls, more than a handful said they weren't sure if they would vote for the former Massachusetts governor.

"Absolutely not," said Nathan Atkins, a Republican convention delegate and Paul backer from Minneapolis. "I really don't think he's that different than Barack Obama. He doesn't represent change."
... He said if Paul isn't on the presidential ballot, he'd likely vote for Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson."

Bachman Freeby

Why in the hell would Ron Paul supporter give up his spot to Michelle Bachman? WTF?

Think about it

I was there. This was a brilliant move by the Paul campaign in the state. Everyone knows that the only reason MB got it was because of us and the papers are reporting it that way too. It gave us a ton of political capital going forward, both in the state and nationally, and not only for this election but for 2016 and 2020.

We'll See

I guess we'll have to wait until Tampa to know for sure. Probably not much of a possibility but can you imagine if it came down to one vote? Yikes.

Well the Question is do we want to Win?

It was a fun two days in St. Cloud meeting all the Ron Paul supporters, that took the dedication to become a delegate and alternates.... The reason we won today was that all the alternates showed up and were all seated as a lot of regulars didn't show, one because of maybe the bad timing of the news media release by Jesse Benton. There were a lot of people that don't even know that Daily Paul exists, I must have turn on about 100 people to the website, but there were hundreds of people that drove all over the State to want to hear this man speak who weren't delegates.

I talked to one guy who drove 2 hrs, only because he recently heard about Dr. Paul and said this man was so special and he wanted to help the cause. I told him how the delegate process worked and that what he could do for the cause was to help get Kurt Bills elected. We walked the streets of St. Cloud after the first night with our shirts/stickers,etc and younger teenage kids said, we love Dr. Paul and we want him as our President.

We have done our part in becoming delegates in the system and endorsed a lot of new Liberty minded people and have taken over a lot of GOP spots with in the party, to bring back the party to its original foundations.

Here's what I believe is going on after seeing what unfolded with Michelle Bachman, being nominated as a delegate. After hearing Ron Paul speak during the breakfast meeting all of you have come to realize that Dr. Paul is a humble man just like us and he never talks about himself, but only the message of Liberty and Freedom. One of the things he said today is the movement is growing and that people must want Freedom. He was saying not it direct terms, but if you want Freedom and Liberty, then will I only be nominated by the GOP party to run for President.

It will come down the Tampa convention if the delegates really want a true conservative that is the Real Deal! I know talking with a few of these National Delegates they are going to Tampa to bring that message of Liberty & Freedom to all members of the National Convention.

I believe that with Jesse Benton email and the sweet concession by us, to Michele Bachman, that if Ron Paul doesn't get the nomination that they will position Rand in 4 years. I believe that is why they really never went after Romney that much, etc.

So, it comes down to you, in the rest of the States coming up if you took the time to become delegates and want to win. I know that the old GOP guard watching Ron Paul speak they first didn't clap, but after they heard his message they started to clap and even a lot of the stood up. A lot of the delegates told me at first they didn't like Ron Paul because of what the media said, but after hearing him they said that's our man and we pulled a lot of those votes.

It will come down to you National delegates going to Tampa ,do you want to win or wait 4 more years of of pain under Obama or want to win? I know talking with Democrats and Independents that they will only vote for Ron Paul. We will not win a lot of these States unless we get those votes like Ronald Reagan did and these National delegates going to Tampa from Minnesota know this.

I pray that we all want Liberty and Freedom now and not 4 more years from now.

Keep fighting for delegates and get involved in the system and you will see change happen.

In Liberty!

We can help the old guard win and be proud of it.

The "old guard" so called were there today working for something better. They are finding out about the love in this revolution. It is not soppy, saccharin sweet touchy-feely mush. It is a serious love of truth and liberty in the best sense of both words.

We are sharing the message. I am finding that freedom is popular. Why is it a surprise to find?

Has anyone researched what the old guard has been through. Today is not the first time that the old guard has come up against party leadership/ownership.

In 1952 Eisenhower beat out Mr. Republican, Robert Taft.

Or in 1860, when Lincoln forces printed up a duplicate set of credentials. They arrived early at Convention and were seated.

The only thing history teaches us is that it never teaches us anything ~Russian proverb

Of course, history is not at fault.

In the end the party is just their tool. They try to use it to get someone anyone could find worth voting for. In the end it is the individual that casts the vote. We have a lot in common, and do we have a candidate we think you might like.

No attacks on Romney

So Dr. Paul did not attack Romney during his speech at the Minnesota convention. If this continues Ron Paul will lose the nomination at the national convention in Tampa because there will be no reason for the Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich delegates (as far as they are concerned) to switch to Ron Paul. Dr. Paul cannot be passive at this time - he has to attack Romney NOW. We should not be lulled into a false sense of security because of all these delegates that Ron Paul is winning - it may not be enough to win the nomination and it will not always be this way as can be seen from the Georgia convention where we won very few delegates. And the national convention in Tampa will be brutal and unpredictable with very little room for error.

Baloneysandwich

Voldemort theory of winning. Kill first, skip questions.

Dr. Paul abhorred our aggressive wars. I am glad he has not stooped to such dirty political play.

Attack the ideas, not the man. Is that what you meant?

My brother just returned from the MN Con as a delegate

and he told me everything! He lurks at DP but doesn't comment and gave me permission to write this:

He was a liberal since the sixties, voted for Jesse Jackson, Ralph Nader, etc. He gives me the credit for finally "breaking him down" and helping him to lift his blinders long enough to look at the truth. Now he's a Ron Paul activist and will never go back to sleep!

He was amazed and touched and feels this should be shared with the Paul fans.

My bro also came up with what I think is a brilliant idea: That all these photos that we all have taken standing next to Dr. Paul at these events should be used for free publicity in our hometown newspapers! Local papers are always looking for a story about their citizens and one with a photo of a famous person would be favorable. What great PR for RP that would be and would draw attention to our cause. I love this idea and think we should all get on it -- especially in those states that have yet to hold their primaries, caucuses or conventions.

Get busy you guys. Let's do this!!!

Local papers a great idea!

Worked in community newspapers - it is true that they are always looking for a way to localize national stories and often run reader-submitted photos. Plus, most local papers are owned by actual people with editors and reporters who care about journalism, not mega corporations with their agendas.

Creative Commons Licence

Anyone with photos of Ron Paul should consider releasing them to WikiCommons under a Creative Commons Copyright licence. That way the small town newspapers can use them without having to pay a fee

Eyes on Bachmann

I agree. This is an interesting position she now finds herself in... damned if you do/ damned if you don't so to speak. Kudos to the RP delegate that ceded his/ her spot to Bachmann, btw... Excellent sportsmanship and protocol, but even more valuable in terms of public relations since Bachmann is a news-worthy individual delegate that will have cameras on her. High profile example of Ron Paul supporters acting with decorum and unifying the party. Wonder if she's wishing she'd endorsed Ron Paul now??

Don't you know it!

Just a matter of time until not only Michelle Bachman, but many others, will wish they had endorsed Ron Paul.

so the rEVOLution let a little hate(bachmann) go to tampa?

i don't get it. bachmann is an enemy who i would have thought burnt her bridges with the real tea party, the Ron Paul rEVOLution liberty movement.

freaking great job on the rest of the results, though, you guys!!!!

I don't get it, why is Bachman an enemy?

We can't win without the rank-and-file Republicans. And they can't win without us. And we are only supporting Ron Paul.

Right now the Republican have to be thinking of that Rasmussen Poll. GOP:43% DNC:42% and Ron Paul(Third Party) 15%. If Ron Paul is the GOP nominee that's 57%. GOP can win with a big margin. The r3volution has shown that we can win and do win. We are big league players. The offer is proffered.

Minnesota and Michigan Conventions have led the way. We have made it known that we will work for them, but only for liberty and the Constitution and whoever will pledge and keep their oath of office.
