Rand Paul Endorses Kurt Bills for United States Senate

BOWLING GREEN, Ky., May 17, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Senator Rand Paul has endorsed State Rep. Kurt Bills in the Republican primary for the United States Senate in Minnesota. Rep. Bills is expected to make a strong push for the Party endorsement this week at the Minnesota GOP State convention.

Said Senator Paul, "Kurt Bills is a man seeking office for the right reasons. He is a teacher and a coach, not a career politician. Kurt wants to preserve the greatness of America for the students in his classroom and the young athletes in his gym, not serve the special interests and political elites.

"Kurt understands the tremendous debt burden we face and stands alone in this race as a leader ready to bring Americans together, fight the out-of-control spending, and get our country back on track.

"Although the situation is fluid, most people say Kurt Bills is the favorite because he has the support of the Ron Paul crowd, and they are going to play a major role at the convention," said Ben Golnik, a veteran Republican strategist who is not aligned with any Senate candidate.

Party leaders estimate that one-third to one-half of the 2,200 GOP convention delegates are Ron Paul activists. They expect most of them to back Bills because he was the first Minnesota legislator to endorse Paul, and the Texas congressman returned the favor by throwing his support behind Bills.

I may donate again. I do my research and I only directly donate to the individuals that are Constitutionally minded candidates.

Bill, I hope you succeed in winning. This country needs to buck the establishment and return to the principles that Ron Paul preaches.

Look, I like Rand...compared to most in the Senate he is a stand-up guy. But his endorsement isn't on par with his fathers. His endorsements are based on the fiscal conservatism of DeMint and others. Its not necessarily based on his father's brand of Republicanism. Now if the good Dr endorsed Mr Bills...then maybe.

DID endorse Kurt Bills, in fact he's holding a fund raiser for him tonight in MN.
