The key to winning is nationwide Webcasting for Voter Recruitment Parties.

It’s simple!
1. Headquarters sets a time for a live RP Webcast this Saturday at 5PM.
2. The grassfire and meetup groups plan Ron Paul Parties to recruit voters.
3. Once hearing the Doctor for 30-60 minutes, pronto you have new voters!

See the problem is, the good Doctor’s message won’t fit in a 30 second ad. It does not fit well in a debate, nor a sign or bumper sticker. It’s to much substance, to much history, economics, foreign policy and constitution.

However, you give him a block of 10 minutes or more and he can really spin it out where people start to “get it”. In fact, there is a direct correlation between the amount of time one listens to his message and those who become avid supporters.

Webcasting is to vote raising – what money Bombs are to fundraising. It’s the methodology catching up with the technology. Plus it doesn’t cost hardly anything, and the campaign is not spending its money in the enemy’s camp.

Webcasting it the key to more votes. (It looks great on large monitors, big screen TV’s and fantastic on projectors. Plus, a Ron Paul Party is a great excuse to have one).

Yes, i have muttered about this too = we do it at my company.

I stopped doing that job a few years go =- so the technology would be different now - simpler i guess. And i am sure many of you have this experience also. I worked at a Fortune 500 Company (HQ) and the dealers would download it and and we told them the freq. and when to tune in and viola. The quality was really good of course in this set up w/ 3 balanced cameras.
We did live Broadcasts to about 650 sites and it was secure as far as i remember you had to call in with a password, whatever, so it was secure against the wrong people listening in. Well, anyway- there are always hackers i suppose. We also had provisions for call-ins and faxed in questions. The dealers loved this feature, because they could be heard - and talk to the main CEO / VP. So i liked this program a lot. (I used to produce and direct them) And then the dealers would worry about capturing it on their end. . But now you can use cheaper ways and get good results. It is very cost-effective i should think. I like this idea too. I either posted this before too, OR my other idea - which was, if you cannot swing the live Dr., you could at least have "movie night" only the movies are of Dr. Paul's Greatest Hits. You could even get local theater owners (indi theaters) to run stuff after another short movie maybe about the economy or Constitution or something and invite people. Most good size towns have independent theater owners who play all sorts of stuff on a moments notice. I have been thinking i should contact all of them to see if they will support Dr. Paul. - they are NOT part of conglomerates. Just another thought i had to engage alternate media / meeting places.

With the web the access is different of course - anyway, i am glad we are all thinking of these alternate medium choices! Let's do it!

As for getting participation, you could think of some incentives.

Regarding content - if people want to see an Inconvenient Truth and Me and Rodger or whatever - Let's produce our own documentary movie about the state of affairs that Dr. Paul wants to fix with us!

so, you could clearly present the Problems and then the Solution (Dr. Paul and the People) with Dr. Paul on a live feed. You could do it all over the web. But i mean, the idea would be first a short clear set up of WHY we need Dr. Paul and this Revolution - as we were saying the other day - you have to explain it.

Ron Paul 2008

Ron Paul 2008

The cost is minimal

It wouldn't cost the meetup groups or private parties anything unless they want to hook up to a big screen TV or projector. Wherever it originates will need a couple of cameras, some mics, etc.

I passed this idea to the Austin Meetups and they seem to really like it. How many people do you think could possibly attend an online event like that?

Great idea!!!

Yes, a Webcast or a WebMeeting is a great idea! We can set up Webcast/WebMeeting at different hours of the day with Ron Paul talking and doing a Q&A on each topic, and then final Q&A and the end! This works for those who are web savy and are interested in learning more about Ron Paul and his vision!

Why didn't I think of this before?? This is a great thinking out of the box!!!

Do you have any idea how much something like this would cost?

I can only guess that it would be much more cost effective than having Dr. Paul flying all over the country from town meeting to town meeting and still not cover all the people this would in one night.

This event would have to be coordinated by HQ

Considering Dr. P would be the main attraction. It could become a great line of communication between the base and HQ. However, the grassroots could help decide on the format as well as call in or email questions to be answered.

Remember the spontaneous money bomb a few days ago when Dr. P mentioned that more money would be needed. Just think of the response of a nationwide RP meetup webcast online. Would probably be the biggest in the history of politics and the internet.

Then I would suggest starting your own meetup!

In fact, I know Dr. Paul as well as the campaing would like to have as much diversity as possible, and especially senior citizens. Dr. P reminds us that we need the wisdom of our seniors more than ever.

The webcasts could then be.........

burned to cd or (gasp!) VHS tape and distributed for future use.

Liberty is not free, It must be earned!

Liberty is not free, It must be earned!

The possiblities are almost endless

A lot of people are saying RP has great internet support but that support needs to be expanded to voters who are not web connected.

Webcasting for weekly voter recruiting parties is aimed at doing that very thing.

How about focusing on one topic per webcast?

I love this idea. I can invite family members to my house and we can watch and listen to the good Doctor explain something. Now, if a schedule is announced, like for instance, Saturday will be focused on federal reserve, next week the focus will be on seniors, next broadcast will be all about foreign policy, next week will be about gloal vs sovereignty. etc. This way, we can gather people around their particular interest. Also, this way we can submit questions in advance from our mini group that he can address on the webcast, making it very personal.

Someone on another topic spoke about ads with an educational twist. Maybe each topic could have a title in the form of a question to stimulate discourse.

Go Ron!

Head of Meetup Group Contact?

Would you happen to know if there is one person in charge of all meetup groups? I would like to send them this idea to see what they think.

I love this idea

Lets get more input, this idea is very feasible.

I tried to get through to HQ

But the email form kept crashing.

Sent it to the Austin Meetup group and they seem to like it a lot!

But this is something HQ would have to be a part of.

Why is this thread being pushed into the black hole so quickly

I believe it's one heck of a good idea.

If I understand this correctly, on any given Saturday Meetup Groups across the country can gather together with undecided friends and relatives and their friends and relatives or co workers or neighbors or who ever at one person's home.

They can serve beverages and snacks and sit down and see and listen to Dr. Paul speak over the webcast in the comfort of someone's living or family room. When he is done speaking there can be a question and answer session, just like a town hall meeting.

And there can be hundreds of these parties going on in the same city, in the same state and in many cities and states across country, all at the same time.

This way Ron Paul can reach thousands of people maybe tens of thousands of people all from the comfort of his home, his office or where ever.

If I'm correct in the way I've described it, then... this is absolutely brilliant

Thanks - I'm glad someone gets it!

You seem to understand it exactly!

Webcast == Preaching to the choir

Webcast will only reach those who are on the web, hence those who largely know it from YouTube videos.

Much better would be to buy a 30 minute spot on TV like Perot did in 1992 (if he were a real thing, he might have made it). The prime-time spot would run statewide the evening before the election in a given state. That will reach older folks (our main weakness at present) who get all their info from TV and newspapers. I also wouldn't trust that Ron Paul's present campaign staff can make a good infomercial of this kind. It would have to be made and paid for by supporters.

It's a differnt dynamic

Coming to and participating in a Ron Paul webcast party is a different dynamic than watching a TV infomercial.

When you participate in a live party you have interaction, Q&A and are not so easily tempted to simply flip the channel.

I am ALL FOR good ideas but have a question.

Are meet-ups in the upcoming primary states really that energized, professional, diverse, fun-to-be-around for women and seniors? Not from what I've read.

My state votes on Mega Tuesday but the local meet-up is a bunch of deadbeats. The only active ones are truthers, I couldn't stay involved there - JP

The first 5 million supporters of Dr. Paul are 'early adopters.' The next 10 million will require a modified approach.

Again I think the grassroots has come up with one great idea

and it eliminates the middle man... the Old Media and replaces it with the New Media... the Internet. After all, isn't Ron Paul the Internet candidate?

Also why does this thread keep getting pushed down? I think it should be front and center.

You are exactly right.

It's "old school" campaing methodolgy catching up with technology and only Dr. P has the grassroots technology base to make it happen.

As you mentioned when the campaign buys TV time they are spending money in the enemy's camp. Think how many people that money could reach via webcasts. It's almost free!

It plays to the campaing's strengths and could be a major "game changer", which is what we need!

Moore's Law - Double the grassroots, again, and again.

Based on meetup.com, the number of meetup members for Ron Paul has doubled in the last 8 weeks from around 50,000 to close to 100,000. These are the people that provide the financing and ground forces for the campaign. We need to continue the exponential growth of the grassroots movement. We need to double again in the next 8 weeks, and then double again in the 8 weeks after that, and again, and again, and again.

I found the link.

Please a link to the 50,000

I need a link to the 50,000 to 100,000 statistics.

Precisely Said!

Think how much more effective the meetups would be if you had Dr. present via webcast.

Remember the spontaneous money bomb a few days ago when Dr. P released a statement that more money was needed. Imagine the response if he relased news of an upcoming nationwide RP Voter Recruitment Party.

Everyone bring 5 new people! Five for Freedom!

No. The key to winning is

No. The key to winning is going DOOR-TO-DOOR.

The advantage of a voter Recruitment Party is:

The is no single way that is the best and all means should be encouraged.
The advantage of a webcast Voter Recruitment Party is, you have the mastero himself delivering the message.

And the huge disadvantage is

And the huge disadvantage is that we OWN the internet. When you go Door-To-Door the benefits are this.

1. Interaction.
2. You get the vote out.
3. You reach everyone.
4. You can answer questions.
5. You can measure your support.

20 people at a RP party accomplishes the same thing!

One could go door to door and invite them to the RP party! Plus seeing others supporting the message is always a help in bringing others into the light.

And just how is interactive webcasting any different

People are still able to ask and have their questions answered. Unless I am not understanding what's being offered here?

I picture it as a kind of conference call meeting with a TV screen and people ask and answer questions. It's like they are sitting in the same room.

Is this not what webcasting is all about?

You are correct, the only difference is the national scale

A local townhall meeting typically only reaches 200 people. A nationwide webcast would probably reach 50,000 - 60,000 people. (Oprah only drew 8,000 in NH).

It would probably be the biggest political meeting in history!
