U.S. Constitution, Amendment 14, Section 3 - Cleaning out the houses for Dr. PaulSubmitted by mindwalker55 on Sat, 05/19/2012 - 11:50
Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, ... or hold any office, ... under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, ... (see the full version online - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fourteenth_Amendment_to_the_Uni... )
I would contend that NDAA, the Patriot Act, etc. are insurrection and/or rebellion against the Constitution in as much as these laws seek to overthrow the authority and laws therein, bypassing the amendment process. Thus any who participated in passing these bills or signing them into law would be ineligible to hold office (now or ever again).
I have tied to get this info to Dr. Paul to get a read from him as to how he sees this. Would it interfere with his campaign? Is it playing unfair and thus would turn our countrymen against us or would it show the GOP and the nay sayers who can defeat Obama? It would also open up many more seats for liberty minded candidates. The RNC might find they don't have as many extra funds for setting up shadow state parties if they have to suddenly worry about 100+ more campaigns. So far I haven't been successful in getting this to Dr. Paul.
So I am throwing this out here for the grass roots to consider. Should we bring a law suit against we the people (can't sue the government without their permission) demanding that we the people enforce this provision of our Constitution by instructing our government to throw the bums out and striking down all such laws passes by these scoundrels?
I'm not socially connected. I'm not a lawyer. I'm not even a community organizer. So others will need to take up this idea and run with it if it is deemed worthy.
