Who's right? Don't know. But I'm always suspicious of Bin Laden or other "threat" videos appearing on the evening before key primaries.
They accomplished their intended task, giving McCain and Giuliani a big boost.
I think that the Empire has lots of public-opinion shaping tools in reserve, unfortunately.

It baffles me how the media
It baffles me how the media makes Iran out to be this evil aggressor and people seem to ignore the real problem...WHY ARE AMERICAN WARSHIPS IN THAT AREA? Completely ridiculous, like if the Soviet Union had warships near American Soil and the U.S. Coast Guard approched their ship would anyone say "look at these crazy aggressive americans?"

I've been watching this and timing is important
...they announce this little incident and hype it all over. McCain takes New Hampshire and lost in all the hoopla, someone on our side, inside the NSA, (check the date of the Yahoo article) posts the truth of the last time we had an incident in that area...does anyone besides me think an article whose first sentence contains these words:
...according to declassified information that also confirmed US officials faked an incident to escalate the war.''
should have been front page news and questioned by every "news" channel ?.

Nothing new
This is nothing new and is not the first time something like this has happened. The number of times I have deployed to the Gulf there have been times where we went to GQ because incidents like this. My first deployment back in 1996 one of the frigates spent about 6 hours at GQ because of the Iranians having a little fun. My other deployments I heard similar incidents.

And why shouldnt the Iranians enjoy having nice pretty battleships parked off of their beaches. It would be like waking up and finding someone parked their tank at the end of your driveway ... nothing to see here, go about your business ....

I never thought of myself as a conspiracy theorist, but this is hard to ignore. What a coincidence this happened 2 days before a major primary and just days after McCain said we could stay in the Middle East for a thousand years for all he cared. Then he comes from behind to win??? We are being screwed so bad I don't know how so many millions can be so blind.
