I just came back from early voting in Texas

Drove up to the polling place and there were no signs at all for any of the presidential candidates. Only local and state. I was the only voter in the building. I have voted Democrat my whole life and it felt strange when they asked me if I wanted to vote Dem or Rep.
Austin, TX is one of the only blue spots on the Texas map and I felt embarrassed saying Republican. I know I am imagining this, but I felt like they thought less of me when I said it..
Then they stamped REPUBLICAN on my voter registration card...I almost puked.
I go over to the voting machine and ask them if there will be paper ballots for the May 29 primary. They said no, same machines.
The first vote is for president. I got tears in my eyes when I voted for Ron Paul. I felt like I was doing something so very important and hoping my vote makes a difference. I felt good voting for Glen Addison and it felt good to vote against the incumbent representative who voted for NDAA, CISPA and agaist the Amash amendment.
I was disappointed Sheriff Mack was not in my district. If I lived in my old neighborhood I could have voted for him.

Now I am going to my facebook page and "like" the warmongering pig, Michael McCaul and tell him I voted for Eddie Traylor and hope he gets voted out of office.

It is disappointing

That ballots are even marked with a party, it is almost like they are stamping "keep" or "Throw away" on them. Even most absentee ballots are different colors per party.

If I disappear from a discussion please forgive me. My 24-7 business requires me to split mid-sentence to serve them. I am not ducking out, I will be back later to catch up.

your experience

would be like the ones that my parents would have, if they could only break from the image that they steadfastly create for themselves and cling to tightly.

i voted dem since 1994 (save nadar in 2000 when i, somehow, woke up to say the words "two headed dragon" long enough to attend ONE GREEN PARTY MEETING - of about 8 people - and go vote) and i can honestly say i had not a lick of remorse, for either party, as i made the leap over the razor wire fencing, so to speak.

we're up in fort worth and not voting until i can see a paper ballot in front of me.

Ron Paul for President's picture

Goal - Liberty, labels as needed

Taking one for the team!

Thank you!!!!!!!

Way to go! You know McCaul is a Corporatist scam, because

why would a person worth $200+ million want to run as a congressman, but to vote to make himself more money on his investments. If he was running to be a Constitutional statesman, like Dr Paul, I would have a different persepective, but he is far from that exclusive title! All of these Fascist/Corporatist frauds need to be voted out of office, but with the brainwashed sheeple believing Obama is the only problem, they are failing to focus on the incumbent establishment cronies who have contributed to our overall demise.

thank you for sharing the love

Tell your friends you didn't vote for a candidate but

voted for liberty and you and your family's future.

Don't feel bad for voting for

Don't feel bad for voting for a republican, vote for the candidate that will restore our constitutional freedoms. Don't vote for anyone just because the belong to a certain political party. Democrats are just the same as republicans when they get to Washington. The establishment has played that trick on the American people for far to long. be proud that you voted your conscious. Win or lose never sacrifice your principals. Too many people vote for a scum bag because they believe he or she can win. That is to high a price to pay!!! Good day sir and lets see how far the rabbit hole goes, enjoy the red pill my friend!!!!!~!~

You did good!

I am so glad that there are people like you. This is important, so much so that the establishment is rocking like a boat on a wavy sea, we are the waves of liberty loving voices.

As for Gary Johnson, I am glad that he supports and wants to be Ron's VP. I think he would accept Ron as his VP. But when he said that he wanted to keep GITMO open, I just think he doesn't get it yet. He won't get my vote as long as he supports torture and indefinite detention without trial.

Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.

Gary Johnson on Habeas Corpus

This is from Gary Johnson's website:

THE FREEDOMS ON WHICH AMERICA WAS FOUNDED are now under attack from the very people charged with protecting and upholding them.

The PATRIOT Act should be repealed, which would restore proper judicial oversight to federal investigations and again require federal investigators to prove probable cause prior to executing a search.
Habeas corpus should be respected entirely, requiring the government to either charge incarcerated individuals with a crime or release them.
The TSA should take a risk-based approach to airport security. Only high-risk individuals should be subjected to invasive pat-downs and full-body scans.
The TSA should not have a monopoly on airport security. Airports and airlines should be encouraged to seek the most effective methods for screening travelers, including private sector screeners. Screeners outside of government can be held fully accountable for their successes and failures.

Please stop trying to get supporters for GJ on the Daily PAUL

Go start The Daily Johnson or something if you like him so much. A Ron Paul site is not the place to campaign for one of Dr. Paul's competitors in the presidential race. If he does not get the nomination, that would be different, but now is not the time. Ok? :)

Well, you were.

I love my country
I am appalled by my government

if you dont already

you will feel different Sunday morning. You will feel as though you made the right choice to "not cheat on your spouse" or pay for that "male or female" escort the night before.

You made the PURE, INTELLIGENT and HONEST choice that only a REASONABLE person can make.

Ah, the spirit...

... of the Revolution. I agree on Glen Addison.

I was told paper ballots on election day, that is why I have not yet voted. We'll have to see on the day.

Plano TX

It may depend

for example, in WILCO most polls will be sharing the "single" electronic altering device. You will have a choice between the paper or the number altering electronic "SAFEVOTE" hahahahahahaa device... how funny...

Good For You!

Good for you, liz. I hope Ron Paul wins the Texas primary. After the convention in August, if Romney is nominated, please consider voting for Libertarian Gary Johnson for President. www.garyjohnson2012.com Thanks a lot.

Thanks. I think.

We Republicans welcome you. Take Dems thinking less of you as a compliment. I always have.

Just to ease your minds...

I will vote for liberty minded people in the future and leave blank all the rest!

Right on Liz!

I was just teasing a little.

Truth be told I am not a registered anything. As far as I am concerned at this point the whole left right, lib con, thing needs to be put aside. It just a paradigm being used to divide us and take focus off the real issues.

Once we restore a sound Republic that respects the liberties of all, we can go back to our lovely debates.

There is a lot of work to do and the hour is getting late.

So, in all honesty...thanks. Nice to meet you aboard the liberty train headed for Free town!

Texas is an OPEN pres. primary but California

,,,,is not!

One HAS TO REALLY register Republican by this Monday May 21. Here are the links:

I have never done that before either! I am walking in your shoes Liz! I know the feeling.. It was scary. I never trusted Republicans - and I know nobody here would vote for Mitt either.

But imagine registering Democrat (for Ron Paul) - if you have never done it before, those of US who were always Republican before. So put yourself in her shoes.

(I did vote Libertarian in 1996 - but that was easy - I knew Clinton was safe). But 2012 is very different year and I know Ron Paul is our last hope.

I appreciate your share a lot.

Ron Paul ... forever.
