☛ Attention Illinois residents who still want to become delegates!

The GOP in Illinois has extended the deadline to become a delegate/alternate delegate for the state convention in June. There are still vacancies just waiting to be filled. All that needs to be done is for you to make a phone call and can afford $50. It can all be done from home. (I would however strongly suggest that you do not give away who you support. I've heard that people who they "think" won't support romney conveniently get left off the list) A friend recently became an alternate delegate himself only a few days ago. In his county all the delegate spots were full but his county chairman said that a TON of alternate seats were vacant. I have yet to hear of a convention where ALL the delegates showed and no alternates were needed.

If you're in Illinois and want help to become a delegate for Ron Paul, either I or my friend would be more than willing to help. All I need from you is to know what county you live in and I can help you right away.

If you DO become a delegate, it would be best to get in contact with other Ron Paul supporters going to the convention and coordinate. You can do that by emailing Laurie Bluedorn lauriebluedorn@gmail.com

She'll need your name, email address, cell phone, county, and which days of the convention attending.

Other states MAY allow vacancies to be filled. If they do, this is a good way to find out how:

Chairman ignoring me too

I am also being ignored by the Kendall Co. Chairman. I have emailed several times for the past to weeks and have not mentioned I am a RP supporter. Its obvious I am being "Romnied"!

I live in the country (very conservative area) and it didn't take many other delegate inquiries before they figured out that many of the requests for delegate information where coming from Ron Paul supporters. The increase in inquires was what tipped them off.

It was by email as that was the only contact info I could fine... other than his home address. Had a couple email exchanges but after he assumed I was a Paul supporter he hasn't gotten back to me. I sent a couple emails (I was polite) requesting and update. Not real sure how to progress. Town is a small one and I don't want to get blacklisted by being too pushy. Figuring to run for Precinct Committeeman next time around and don't want to be on his bad side.

Call 312-201-9000 and tell them your situation. That you're trying to get a hold of your county chairman but can't find a phone number and don't know who else to call. I would throw in there that the reason you're trying to get a hold of him is because you want to become a delegate for the upcoming convention and don't want to miss the deadline if there are any vacancies to be filled. The number is for the republican headquarters in IL.

Please give me a little more detailed information on this because I think we have a great opportunity here at our PRESIDENT Paul phone bank (Liberty HQ, Los Angeles)to reach out lots of people (especially that it's Sunday and I can get a good amount people on the phones). We just did something similar for Washington state with GREAT success (PCO spots were empty and we filled them up!). the new deadline is May 22nd. it's only 2 days away, but it's also possible that if there still are vacancies past that time that it will be extended again especially if counties keep getting people calling asking to be delegates.

Full delegate for the convention - Dupage County

I reached out to the county chairman last week and she got me in touch with Addison Township GOP chair (I live in Addison) who then appointed me as a delegate for the convention. I paid $50 and registered, booked room ($140) at the holiday inn Tinkey Park for June 8th, I m all set to go. Thanks for this thread, we can take IL if we can get organized.
